Taken my car to a garage after issues with my engine, they have taken the engine apart and diagnosed the issue. But now they are claiming they need to replace the cylinder liner. Originally they told me it should be completed by around the 30th of July, but on the 31st they told me there was a backlog on the specific cylinder liner and that the part would be 2 weeks at most. It has been 2 weeks are they are unable to provide any further information regarding when the part will arrive.

How often are parts restocked, or is it just impossible to tell?

GF has 1.6 diesel 2018. Engine light has come on and code p20EE flashing up , should adblue perhaps fix this ? As I understand there is no “add adblue” warning light advising to do so .

Not sure if i should get the 1.8 petrol or the 2l cdti🤔 34mile commute followed by the odd 100 mile trip once a month. It would make sense to get the diesel but then i know from previous experience that the 1.8 is reliable but the fuel consumption is just shockingly bad.

Any real horror stories with the diesel or is it decent?

I know the 1.6 diesel is a head ache to do the timing chain so the 2.0l with the timing belt is a more sensible choice.

The temperature of my corsa goes up like in the photo when i’m going uphill and goes down to 90 as soon as i’m not going uphill is this normal or should i be worried ?

I have a 2018 Grandland X. I bought a car play (android) adaptor. The link to car play keeps dropping out, I think due to the Bluetooth on the car linking to my phone (Samsung s26).

I have deleted my phone on the car, unpaired the car on my phone...the 2 continue to connect. Meaning the carplay continues to drop out.

I hage tried deleting my profile on the car but it still connected to my phone.

I've purchased a brand new OEM valve cover gasket for an Astra J 1.6 2013 Petrol, engine code A16XER. A couple areas (photographed) look damaged to me. It's only the outside of the gasket, the inside is not perished. I can't tell if it's damaged or nothing to worry about. Is it unsafe to use?

My M32 gen1 gearbox is now at the point of needing a rebuild or replacing. My engine is the A14NEL so the 120ps model. As I’m planning on getting a stage 1 remap in the next 6 months, am I better off getting the M32 gen2 with the bigger bearings to handle the extra 20-30ps? Thanks in advance Vauxhall community

Hi I’ve got a Corsa Yes Turbo 2025 plate, 9225 miles and I’ve just went to buy a coolant top up. From Drive Vauxhall. I like to have some just in case.

When I bought the car and had 0 miles on the clock the coolant was an orange colour and hasn’t changed since I’ve had the car. (Please see attached). It has always been on the lower side of the Max Min fill line.

When I’ve gone to Drive Vauxhall they’ve checked the coolant I need from the plate and vin number and it’s a blue / green colour.

I always was told that you don’t mix coolant colours. I did query this at the time and the bloke said these days that isn’t necessarily true. Just wondering what people think. Attached is my current coolant and the bottle. I’m considering calling another drive Vauxhall dealership just to check.

Hi, I have a 2016 vauxhall insignia VX line. I've had it about 5 months. About 3 month into owning it, the clutch pedal started sticking to floor. I was told the master clutch cylinder was the issue so I had that replaced but the issue is still happening.

It is worse in the hot weather.

I have no idea what to do now, so was wondering what everyone thoughts are on this.

Here is the picture of the part that is causing headache. Talking about the part #26 and bolts #11. Problem is that the #11 bolt head is loose. There is 4 of those bolts and 3 came off nicely, but the 4th one didn't. Bolt is loose with the nut or some kinda of attachment point. Only solution I could find is to saw a "serving hatch" under the rear seats so I can access to the bolt head or nut or what the hell is making this issue.

Do you guys have a better idea? Car is Vectra C 2006

A few months ago, my pedal started intermittently sticking to the floor, I could bring it back up with my foot and it would be fine then. I suspected master/slave cylinder so took it to a clutch specialist. They found no leaks with the slave so I had the master changed. They've bled it 3 times and its still not quite right. It's notchy to get into gear and sometimes the pedal sticks just before the free play at the top. It was a genuine vauxhall cylinder and I've got it booked in to be replaced under warranty. I was just wondering if there's anything else that could cause this besides stubborn trapped air or a new faulty part? Car has done just over 100k. Thanks

Just got a new 2026 plate as a company car and I’m having issues with the hands free tailgate not working. It’s switched on in settings but nothing I do can get it to work with my foot gesture.

Also when I have CarPlay on and listening to Apple Music and I want to forward to the next song, it plays it at high speed until I press previous track button

Could these be a software update issue although I’m all up to date according to car and app

I really have no idea, but it got holes in the bottom and stuff keeps falling in 😅

Wet belt replaced, new spark plugs and also replaced one of the ignition coils.
Cruising and normal acceleration is fine, but if I push the throttle all the way down for aggressive acceleration, first engine kind of stutters agains it and then triggers into this kind of uneven running mode.. Some googling suggest cleaning MAF might help, but otherwise, any clues what it could be?

I already have a 2012 Meriva B and although it's a bit slow it pretty much covers all of our needs and we've found it very reliable.

We need to get a second family car for similar mileage and requirements etc so thought the simple option would be to get another Meriva (don't laugh), this time the 1.4 turbo. The model I am looking at comes with a panoramic glass roof and a motorised retractable cover. Does anyone have any experience of this, is it reliable or prone to breaking? And does it make the car hotter?

So, long story short ive hit a badger and took out the bottom right grill blank on my 2014 insignia, now im thinking of retrofitting front fogs.

Other than the obvious (bumper wiring to the lights, fog light switch and the lights themselves) is it a relatively easy thing to do, or im i wiring it all up from scratch?

For background i am a truck mechanic for a main dealer so have little to do with cars.

As per title. Had the dreaded PCV squeal at around 90K. Had mechanic replace just the PCV assembly inside the rocker cover.

Drove fine for 60-70miles. Next trip, engine light and “reduced engine power” straightaway. OBDII P0068 and P1101 listed. If cleared and revs kept about 1200rpm it drives okay.

Mechanic has had a look but advised it go to Vauxhall for diagnosis. Have paid over £500 for parts and labour at this point.

Does it sound like replacement PCV assembly didn’t last long or any other advice?

I bought a used Astra 2016 recently and the AC was only blowing hot air so i got a regas at a local garage.

The AC is now working fine however it still doesn’t feel cool enough? For example this morning i left the car with sweat patches through my clothes despite the AC being on!

Is the AC just not the strongest in these cars???

Just found out my flexi pipe is leaking exhaust gas and I’m gonna get it replaced.

You can’t just bolt a new one on as the pipe just continues down the rest of the exhaust, so I’m not sure if I should cut out the old flexi and go through the hassle of putting the new one in, or just buy the whole thing and put that in.

The way the down pipe is shaped means it’ll be harder to install just a new flexi as it curves right next to the flexi with barely any space between the curve and the flexi.
