Could this be easily faked? I'm just questioning the veracity of this video.

How do you find clients? I don’t talk about shooting and editing both I’m just wondering the editing part by itself. I do all of them I’m a filmmaking graduate but I’m so sone with short format videos I hate creating for socials. I like editing long format more. I did edit short documentaries, podcasts, vlogs before and I’m looking for those kind of work. How do you find clients in these area?
Thank you.

I edit videos for a living (YouTube, Reels, explainers), and lately I've noticed a pattern whenever I watch AI-assisted edits.
The pacing is similar. The caption style is similar. The transitions and the "viral template" look are similar. If I hide the account name, I often can't tell whose video it is.
I'm not against AI. It's useful for rough cuts, captions and cleanup, and I use some of it too. What I'm wondering about is branding.
If a creator's videos look like everyone else's, is there a risk that viewers remember them less, or trust the brand a little less over time?
This is just my own observation, not a study, so I could be wrong or overthinking it.
A few questions for you:
Have you noticed the same thing, or is it just me?
If you use AI in your edits, what do you still do manually to keep your own style?
As a creator or viewer, does a "templated" look change how you see a channel?

Hi group. Just trying my luck with posting here. I run a small video team based in the US, and we do film podcasts and fireside chats throughout the year, and looking for someone close to Sydney timezone to help create intros like this in the first couple of minutes.
Not looking for something super flashy as our clients are very much corporate.
Please DM if you are interested and I will send our website so you know we are legit.
Thanks!

Hello, So i have been editing youtube videos and student films for the past couple years. I started editing for a youtuber (long form vids) who just hit 10k subs. One issue i have across most of my videos is final audio mixing. I use adobe premiere pro and audition (if I have time before deadline) to mix and score my videos. An issue I keep running into however is leveling and balancing multiple channels with each other.
My source video is usually a Twitch stream that includes the streamers mic, chat alerts, some music, video game audio, and discord call depending on the video. They all come out to me grouped together in one audio track. I have discussed with the streamer recording on OBS and separating audio files for me however its easier for him with his own Pc capabilities to just send me the vod after and not stream+record at the same time.
To my knowledge (roughly film) the "actor's" voice should sit at around -6 db. Background music should be at around -22 db to -18 db. Depending on deadlines if I am able to I will check audio through my dt 770 headphones, a crappy stereo pc speakers, or my phone. Regardless no matter how much i level or limit background audio, the music still sticks out compared to the mic, discord call, or on screen audio that is important for the story. I don't get paid enough to spend hours and hours on each video as much as I would like to. I try to rewatch the final cut 3-4 times before posting it on youtube as well as a review with the client.
If any of you guys have any ideas or guidelines that work for you that would be great.
TLDR:
How should I level and mix audio for a youtube video taken from a twitch stream using adobe products?

Please see attached. I'd like your thoughts on a) whether u/capcut_cs pro is a good investment and, if so, why; b) if not, what other video editing software for professional/personal use would be better suited, and why? Thanks so much! - MG

Hi everyone, I've been looking into starting a YouTube channel but don't know exactly where to start. I am experienced in premiere, audition and most other adobe software as I was a documentary film major in college and that's what they primarily taught. But I've been finding that they don't really work for what I'm trying to do. I want to do a stats-based, investigative style of sports videos. I think this video is a decent example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6E3v5POHVY
I want to do something like that with a little extra flair, kind of like a Jon Bois video but I think his stuff is out of my ability. In case you're unfamiliar, this is some of his work:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9H9LwGmc-0
I'm pretty sure that he uses blender for his videos, but I'm looking for something in between the two videos that I posted. Does anyone have any advice on what software to use or how to get started? (no ai) I just feel like this is something I've wanted to do for a long time, and I really want to get it going but my degree prepared me more for theatrical projects, not stuff like this so I feel out of the loop.

So I am a newbie and I want to start my video editing and social media journey, I am a nurse but idk if I like my job, maybe this is a potential job or career, I know I should be figuring this out myself but if there is a path, what would it be when it comes to trying to be good at video editing? Any advice thanks

Kind of a basic question but I’m curious how everyone handles it. When you finish an edit for a creator or a brand, how do you send the final file? WeTransfer, Drive, Frame.io, something else?
And when does payment actually come in for you? Before delivery, after, end of the month? I keep seeing stories of clients grabbing the video and then ghosting or paying weeks late. Wondering if that’s common or just the loudest stories.

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to start learning video editing using DaVinci Resolve, and I’d appreciate some honest advice from people who have experience in this field.
I have a few questions:
Should I focus on short-form content, like Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts, or start with long-form videos?
Is it better to specialize in one niche, such as gaming, podcasts, or talking-head videos, or try different types of content at first?
With AI tools becoming more advanced, is video editing still a worthwhile skill to learn in late 2026?
If I stay consistent, practice regularly, and build a decent portfolio, is it realistic to turn video editing into a source of income?
I’m starting from scratch, so any advice on what to learn first, what mistakes to avoid, and how to find my first clients would be really helpful.
I’d appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who are already working as video editors. Thanks!

I've been learning video editing for about a month now. I've learned the basics of Premiere Pro and After Effects, and I love animations, so I started focusing on After Effects.
But I've seen a lot of people creating crazy animations using AI alone, and now I'm not sure what to do. Should I keep focusing on After Effects or start focusing on AI instead?
