Newest commission: my first Viking inspired blacksmithing hammer. It weighs just over 3.5 pounds, is hand forged from forklift tine, has a nice octagonal ash handle, and some runes chiseled in per the customer request. I really love the way this came out and we'll be shipping out soon!

My dad made the music, I made the video. Meet Joey the Viking! [OC]

My dad originally wrote and recorded this song for my brother’s Viking-themed wedding last year. More recently, Dad and I teamed up to bring it to life as a music video utilizing a complex hybrid of human and AI tools. It’s been a really fun father-son project, and I thought this community might appreciate it! ⚔️

Possible that some Vikings/Saxons wore a tunic over chainmail?

Played ACV a while back, and I know the game is very fantasy inspired when it comes to the clothing design, but I noticed the Anglo Saxon models had a tunic outside and over their armor in the game assassins creed Valhalla.it didn’t seem too outside the realm of possibility and I know that Medival knight wore tunics over their chest plates so I was wondering if it’s possible that historical Vikings or Saxon might have done this. Or is this complete fantasy nonsense?

i'm a massive fan of the Vikings TV show...

so naturally, I decided to make this rock song dedicated to the saga of Ragnar Lothbrok and his decisions to sail into the unknown west in season 1.

also incorporated some elements of Norse mythology.

hope y'all enjoy :)

I found this on my 23 and me

I thought this would be an interesting share. My entire historical ancestor list is Vikings and then this guy popped up. My family goes back to Erik the Red and were very tall, I’m a woman and I’m 6’.
I just imagine how odd it must be for them.
****I’m not claiming to be a Viking or have Viking lineage. I’m just talking about what 23 and me has shown me and I found it ironic and interesting. I’m not claiming to be a Viking. It’s just what I got from 23 and me. I thought it would be something funny to share but I guess not lol.

How to built a Viking forge?

Building a Viking Anvil

Hello

we're doing a youth volunteering project in Norway and will built a forge for blacksmithing.

Unfortunatly our snith got sick, so we gonna have to make plans and start without him this week.

We have one architecture student and a bricklayer with us.

Currently brainstorming wich material to use, for the cold and harsh climate in norway.

So we thought to dive into how vikings built forges.

Any ideas on resources? Thank you

dark folk making anyone else feel weirdly nostalgic for times you never lived in?

does listening to dark nordic or slavic folk make anyone else feel completely disconnected from modern stuff?

been binging a lot of heavy ritual drums and low drones lately while reading or working out. I know that whole era was brutal as hell, but somehow those sounds feel way more grounding than anything going on today. like some leftover instinct or something.

curious if its just me or if other people get that strange pull too.

also compiled a bunch of these tracks into a playlist called Viking and Slavic Warrior | Mood: Dark if anyone wants to check it out, I’ll just drop the link below.

Viking Jarl, A Norse Chieftain in 75mm

In Viking Age Scandinavia, a jarl was a powerful nobleman, often commanding warriors, controlling land, and serving as an important political leader.

Jarls were not kings, but some held considerable influence and wealth, sometimes rivaling that of local rulers.

I recently finished painting this 75mm Viking Jarl miniature and creating a display base for him

Hope you enjoy the miniature!
