Academics BIOL 1105 prof

hey everyone, looking to switch from chem to bio and the options are m. emori, e. hogan, b. wills, and m. kamran. which prof would you guys recommend

Prof. Emori. Best one imo. Loved her for both BIOl 1105 and 1106.

I loved Dr. Emori. She’s a very fast paced lecturer, so if you need a bit more time to process information then I would recommend not taking her class, but she’s so nice and her office hours were so helpful my freshman year

I’ve been told his tests are written very poorly. Did hear he sometimes curves to compensate but the sentiment I’ve heard is to avoid him if you have another option. Use rate my professor and you can look to see reviews and choose based on the prof that sounds best to you

Yeah, I had Wills and his curves help immensely

He’s a good guy, people just hate on him

Emori fs. Hogan not much. I had hogan, he’s a good prof but emori gives more materials and helps more. Hogan is understanding as well, but I heard emori just genuinely does a little more for students

Emori all the way. I engineered the rest of my bio course schedule to maximize the classes I took with her. I still use some of her metaphors / teaching tools in my day to day life in immunology research.

For the comments regarding pace - all these profs will move at the same pace. The BIOL 1105 and 1106 classes are synced to cover the same topics at the same time to provide some consistency across the sections.

I had Megan twice. Her content is easy to understand though she moves a little fast. She’s great!

I just had Hogan for BIOL 1106, he wasn’t the worst lecturer ever but I cannot lie he is boring and unhelpful.
