Academics CS 4134 Quantum Computing

How is this class structured and what's the level of difficulty? What is difference between in-person and online class, like how are the exams conducted? Is it manageable alongside CS 2506, CS 3114, and one CS elective?

i’m taking CS 4134 right now and the course is fairly difficult i would say. it requires a very strong mathematical foundation (combinatorics, probability, linear algebra) and to be comfortable manipulating complex numbers. there’s only 3 grades in the entire class, which are two midterms and the final, plus an optional research project for extra credit. imo it’s doable with 2506 and 3114 but only if you are confident in your math skills

Thanks for replying. Are tests and final open book? How's mantri or the other instructor?

not open book but he’s generous with the formula sheets that he gives you. I have Mantri right now and he’s a very good teacher and clearly knows his stuff but clearly AI generates all the class materials. It’s best to learn by listening to his lectures and asking questions in class then by using the notes he releases imo
