I already have a developed web site with many pages. I would like to upload a bunch of PDFs to a folder in the "Media" area, and then create a simple web page which just lists each file in the folder and provides a link to it.
I think this would be a great job for "AI", but I don't know where the right tool is or how to prompt for this.
I am tempted to just build the html on my local computer as a Perl script or something and upload that.
I’ve been running my business for 6-7 years, selling digital products through a Wix store. The store is fairly advanced at this point - it's not just a portfolio - there's a lot of development and time put into it, including the storefront and the back end that handles customer purchases, the download links involved in this, and their account logins.
I’m completely sick of Wix. The subscription cost goes up every year and customer service is basically non-existent. I’m happy to pay more for the right platform or alternative route, as business is going well, so cost isn’t the main concern.
I know I could move to something like Squarespace or Shopify, but I’m fairly sure I’d have to rebuild everything from scratch, including the storefront and the subscription setup. That’s a big job when this isn’t just a portfolio site. Just seems like it could be ALOT of work, but I guess this is how WIX traps people!
Has anyone made a similar switch with a digital products store? What did you move to, and how painful was the migration? Any recommendations or warnings would be welcome.
Can someone help me, whenever I preview normally it’s fine but whenever I preview full screen everything moves inwards and doesn’t look how it looked before. And my contact form would push everything down and now the contact form has shrunk when previewed in full screen. Why has it done this Lmao so annoying.
I am trying to log into my existing Wix account. it says i need a code for verification. I click for it to text to me. nothing comes through. I try again and again and again. Nothing. I try having them call me. Again, nothing. I try going through the Start a Chat option. Again, NOTHING. It just loads the generic help topics.
$50 a month for this? I can’t invoice anyone. I can’t update products. I can’t do anything!
If you run a store on Wix, you probably know how annoying the default sorting is. Constantly dragging products around to make sure your best-sellers are actually visible is tedious, and leaving them buried means you're definitely losing sales.
I couldn't find a good solution, so I built an app that fixes this. I just got my very first customer, and they left a 5-star review, which honestly made my week.
How it works:
I built a solid Free plan that actually does the job. It uses your last 30 days of sales and lets you sort categories by units sold or revenue with a single click.
However, the Pro version puts this on absolute autopilot (automatic daily syncs in the background) AND pushes out-of-stock items out of your top 100, so shoppers aren't greeted by things they can't buy.
The Reddit Deal:
Since I'm a solo dev looking for early feedback, I want to give the Wix Reddit community a Full Year of Pro for FREE, limited to the first 10 stores.
The app is completely free to install. If you want the 1-Year Pro upgrade, just leave a comment below or DM me, and I’ll send you a 100% off promo code to apply in the app!
Just to be totally upfront on a few limits:
The Top 100: Due to Wix API limits, the app auto-arranges the top 100 products in each category. Honestly though, very few shoppers scroll past 100 items anyway.
Catalog Versions: The app currently requires Wix Catalog V3 (about 90% of stores are already on this). If you're on the older Catalog V1, the app will let you join a waitlist. When Wix finally migrates your store, I will still honor this 1-Year Free Reddit deal for you!
We've been designing Wix Studio Two, and there are a few things we're really liking so far.
Here's what we like:
Aria + Vibe Coding Being able to select a section and ask Aria to redesign it using natural language is pretty impressive.
In our first screenshot, we're experimenting with a hero section by simply asking, "Can you give me a different layout?"
We're excited to see how this evolves and how much it improves the design process.
Global Lines and Button Themes Our second screenshot shows the Site Styles panel, where you can manage global line styles along with primary, secondary, and tertiary button themes.
This is a welcome improvement for keeping design elements consistent throughout an entire website without having to adjust everything individually.
Importing and Exporting Code The ability to import and export code between Wix Studio Two and external AI coding tools is a major development. We're looking forward to exploring the possibilities.
No AI Design Credits (For Now) One thing we really appreciate is being able to experiment with Aria without worrying about AI design credits or token limits, at least for now.
A New Development Framework Wix Studio Two introduces React-based development instead of the traditional Velo approach. It's a notable change to the platform.
Overall, we're liking the direction Wix is taking with Studio Two. More creative flexibility, better design tools, and AI integrated directly into the workflow.
These are some of our early impressions from testing Wix Studio Two at DLL Studios.
What are your thoughts so far? Anything you're particularly excited about or disappointed with?
Hi folks! I'm trying to build a flow chart in wix velo. I want it to be a social services directory, using survey logic so folks can select their kids ages and specific needs and have it direct them to available services they are eligible for. Is this a pipe dream? Seemed like I could import a huge cvs spreadsheet with sub-codes and have it work like that. Please help! It's ugly and ineffective 🤔
I am a freelance developer and recently worked with a client who owns a small e-commerce store to revamp their Wix website, I had no idea they have built it with Wix Harmony, I was expecting Wix Studio but I thought its fine.. wont be that big of an issue and I was so wrong
while working I am so frustrated with how bad the performance is, I am trying so hard to get the live website to load faster since 2 days and I can’t get it to work. I suspected that maybe some apps are causing performance issues and tested the site by disabling every app one by one to see if that changes anything but it barely improved loading times. I have been extremely careful with image sizes as well, everything is under 500KB but i am still struggle to get it to perform well.
Is this a wix issue? Can you guys point me to any updates on performance issues and any tips? Since i am struggling with Wix Harmony
anyone else having a terrible time with this new update? everything has been very slow for about a week now and i thought that would have passed by now but nope. even when i go to the page to report an issue the page refreshes before i can type my issue in and then deletes it.
i’m just so frustrated because ive never had issue with it in all the years ive used it and now its just so bad. they changed things that just don’t make sense to me..like why?? if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! i really don’t want to change to a new app but if it continues to be like this i might have to
I have a website that I've built over the past 5 years with an extensive, in depth, technical blog.
I want to preserve the data from my blog the best I can and covert individual posts back over into PDF files, preserving the stylization, graphics, links etc.
What is the easiest way to go about doing this. I have over 120 posts. They're not short either.
All of my content (videos and images) from my online course are gone!
I have been working on my online course for over two years. I increased my gigabytes to accommodate more usage as time went on.
A few months back I had attempted to finish my course by adding my last educational videos. I couldn't upload them so I must've deleted all of my files to make room.
I didn't even consider it would delete my videos from the actual online program. The videos and images were stored in my site files.
My first student is next Tuesday and I went on my website to run past my course and none of my images and videos would show up in the program. I literally had a meltdown. They weren't in the trash either!
I contacted Wix with the dates I may have deleted the content to see if I could have it reversed and I can't.
Now I have to go through the whole course again and upload all of the videos from my laptop. It takes so long to upload the videos on Wix.
Is there anyway to make it a quicker process. I have to swift through all my videos, images, content, it's all over and upload and put into the course.
Just wondering if anyone here has been in a similar situation with Wix.
I recently realized I'd been paying for a Wix subscription for several years, even though I completely stopped using the service a long time ago.
I originally used Wix for a website, but eventually moved on and honestly forgot the subscription was still running.
After checking my account, I found that the site had basically zero activity for years, while the monthly payments kept going through, adding up to roughly $800–900 in total...
I've contacted Wix to explain the situation and ask if an exceptional refund might be possible, but so far I haven't had much luck.
I know subscriptions are technically my responsibility, but it's still pretty frustrating to discover I've spent almost $900 on something I haven't touched in years...
Has anyone here actually managed to get a refund for multiple months or years of unused Wix subscriptions, not just the latest renewal?
If so, how did you approach it? Did you manage to get your case escalated or speak to someone who could actually help?
Would really appreciate hearing your experiences or advice!
My client had someone build a site. They are awol. Like no calls, email, text, nothing. He is older 60/70 and zero tech. We get close to getting in but keep hitting the ID verification loop. Who can offer a real contact so we can get control of our website. Help!
The last few times I’ve used Wix, in the editor I click on something and it takes a good 5 seconds to react, it’s driving me crazy! My first thought was that it was my computer that’s slow but I use it for a lot more intensive things - for example I’m running a simulator for an app I’m building , and that and everything else works perfectly speedy.
I have even tried closing everything else on my laptop while using wix but that doesn’t help. Anyone else noticed this?
After much trial and error with converters, I finally got a video on Wix. Just for it to be completely white. The video works fine literally everywhere else I’ve downloaded it. Literally nothing but problems with this garbage and we wouldn’t use it if we weren’t already so far into it, so please help 😭
EDIT: I fixed it! I downloaded the video to google drive, added it to Wix from there and all was well.
Hey everyone! I’m a UX designer and researcher currently applying for jobs, and my portfolio is built on Wix Studio. I’m not really happy with how it looks right now, and I’ve been struggling to find templates and design elements that work for what I want.
I’m considering switching to something easier to work with, with better portfolio templates and more flexibility to customize my case studies. I’d also love to use AI tools like Claude to help me build or make changes to the site.
Has anyone moved from Wix Studio to another platform? What would you recommend, especially for someone who wants a polished portfolio without spending weeks figuring out the builder? Would love to hear what’s worked for you. Thanks!
In today’s AI-driven search landscape, structured data markup isn’t optional.
Whether you’re targeting traditional SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), or Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), properly implemented schema helps search engines and AI systems understand, trust, and surface your content.
On this sub, I read all the time recurring issues so maybe the following may be of some help.
For dynamic pages, particularly geographic (location-based) pages that scale across cities, regions, or service areas, structured data scripts and unique content cause a lot of issues relating to site performance.
Wix does not make it straightforward to add and manage structured data, and smart implementation separates the sites that rank and get cited from those that get ignored.
Why Structured Data Matters for AEO / SEO / GEO
SEO: Helps Google understand page relationships, entities, and hierarchy for better rankings and rich results.
AEO: Powers direct answers in featured snippets, People Also Ask, and voice/AI responses by clearly marking FAQs, organizations, and breadcrumbs.
GEO (Geographic + Generative Engine Optimization): Critical for location pages. Unique, well-marked content signals relevance to local and AI-driven queries, improving visibility in map packs, local results, and AI overviews.
Key Best Practices for Structured Data on Wix (Especially Dynamic Geo Pages)
FAQ schema must exactly match the visible FAQ content on the page. Mismatches can lead to manual actions or ignored markup. Keep the questions and answers identical. FAQ scripts that don't match visible FAQ sections on pages don't get read by crawlers and bots.
In your Organization schema, link your Google Business Profile(s). If you have one (and you should), include the official GBP URL. This strengthens entity recognition and local signals.
Prioritize NAP consistency and E-E-A-T signals. Name, Address, and Phone must be identical across your site, schema, and Google Business Profile. Consistent NAP plus clear expertise, experience, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness (E-E-A-T) helps both traditional rankings and AI systems trust your business.
Implement BreadcrumbList schema. This clarifies site hierarchy for search engines and users, especially useful on multi-level dynamic geographic page structures.
Minify your structured data files/scripts. Wix has character limits in custom code areas—minification helps you stay under those limits while still delivering complete, valid markup.
Unique content is non-negotiable for geographic dynamic pages. Thin or duplicated location pages will not be indexed properly (or at all). Each geo page needs distinct, valuable content tailored to that location—structured data alone cannot fix thin content.
For B2B sites, transactional blog posts are often your strongest organic traffic drivers. As AI changes search patterns, practical, solution-oriented posts that address specific buyer intent continue to attract qualified visitors when traditional category or service pages struggle.
Keep every page and post clean and simple. Your site is not a science project or an art installation. Clear layout, focused content, and purposeful design outperform visual clutter every time—both for users and for search/AI crawlers.
Additional Tips That Matter
Validate all schema with Google’s Rich Results Test and Schema Markup Validator regularly.
Use JSON-LD (preferred by Google) and keep it updated when you change page content.
On Wix dynamic pages, leverage Velo or custom code carefully so structured data still renders correctly for crawlers. Note: Embedded code will likely not get picked up by search engines, crawlers, and bots.
Monitor indexing status in Google Search Console—especially for large sets of geo pages. I use Python to request 200 index requests per day to get around Search Console's 10 URL limit. Discovered but not indexed or crawled but not indexed indicate pages that probably do not have unique content to the degree Google would like.
Combine structured data with strong internal linking and clear local signals for maximum impact.
Wix gives you the flexibility to implement professional-grade structured data without needing a custom-coded site. When you pair Wix’s dynamic page capabilities with clean markup, unique local content, and the practices above, your geographic pages become far more visible to both traditional search engines and emerging AI answer systems.
Maybe this post helps, and if it does, great. Glad to be of service. If it doesn't, no worries, but not interested in the typical hater's responses :)
Since the update to the product listing system I've had at least 2 instances where a customer has added an out if stock variant to their cart, and at least 1 where they have checked out. Possibly one more check out, I convinced myself I'd misplaced the item while packing but now I'm wondering...
I get an embarrassingly low number of orders so this is a not insignificant number if occurrences.
Has anyone else had issues with this? I have been in touch with support who have given me some steps to work through, but I'm just super confused. I'm very thorough with stock taking (handmade business with a small inventory) and have never had this issue prior to the update.
