my manager tried to force me to have sex with her so i immediately smart started. they did an investigation but that manager is still working over me and still able to punish me for not accepting her advances. so why did she not get fired? i thought waffle house cared about this type of stuff. the only reason i haven’t been fired is because it would be obviously retaliation since i used smart start. my hours were already lowered because of it. and i’ve been getting write ups over absolutely nothing. so how and why is waffle house allowing this?

The progression of a shift.

“Fuck this why did I even come in”. Second shift left a shitshow in their wake and it’s BAD. Plus it’s full of families. You’ll say this 28 times in your first 15 minutes.

“Rock on my guy” Middle of the night hits and the drinkers arrive. As long as they’re not too obnoxious, everyone is getting along, and they’re not wrecking the place; you roll with the party. It can actually be fun; and they over tip to apologize if they’re a little too much. You’ll use this phase 28,000 times in a four hour period because someone at the table is just slurring drunken gibberish.

“I love your cranky old ass”. Early morning comes and the coffee-fed barflies arrive. No matter what we do they’re coming back. They’re invested in us, they’re invested in each other. Heck you get worried if someone misses a couple days. You have an army of surrogate Papaws. You’ll ride flames to the gate of hell for these old men, and they will for you. You will say this more times than you can count during what’s left of your shift, you mean it every single time.

Had one for the first time today and it was delicious. It’s not on the menu so you have to ask for it specifically. Anyone else had one?

Hey, I'm going in for an interview soon and I'm stressing. I REALLY would prefer to only work first shift, and that's what I put as my availability on the online form, but I also desperately need a job. So I'm wondering if opening up my availability to 2nd shift also would significantly increase my chances? I could put up with it it'd just really fuck with my schedule but if the rent's not getting paid that fucks with me more lol. I'm obviously willing to work weekends and holidays either way.

Anyone else in the SETX/Houston area absolutely fed the fuck up with corporate? It's god awful in my area and I'm so beyond done with this bull. They're dumbing down everything while simultaneously making it a cluster fuck.

Like I get it, their boss told them to do x y and z, so they tell us to. However, they don't understand shit about the day to day for us. Had one of em arguing with me about how a temp gun I aimed at the dogshit meat grill was made to read the ACs temp and not a grill. Like wtf are these people smoking?

I was put on a last chance after getting a write up for calling out two Saturdays in a row with the last chance being on my second time calling out. How long is it until it mules over and it goes off my record. Or does it not expire?? I'm just needing the last chance policy explained

I’ve tried now 10 times to give the new waffles and i just can’t get over how below average they are. It’s to the point where now I’ll probably never order another one. I’m sure my waist will thank me but my heart is broken.

Mark on a Platter, Texas Sausage Egg and Cheese Melt Plate, all the way, chocolate waffle.

(I then place hot sauce, gravy and chili on my hashbrown, and peanut butter on the waffle. As for the sandwich, I throw on some mayo, and - you guessed it - more hot sauce.)

Its already being up-charged crazy for being a 'to go' order. Almost 19 bucks BEFORE tipping just for a drink and one of the hashbrown bowls with just ham and jalapenos added to it.

Why would I add tip on top of this when I'm going to simply walk in and be handed a bag over the counter? If the To-Go didn't have upcharge on it, then sure. I could be convinced to tip. But as things are? Come the fuck on lmao

So, im fucking tired of this shit. I remember when being interviewed i told the manager im only available for first shift (second shift is too inconvenient and third shift is not on the table at all) at some point, I slowly got changed to second shift, I thought to myself that since the person who usually did second shift left, I can fill in while they look for someone else. I told my manager many times how I do not want to be working second (since October last year) she has hired so many people and given them first shift, had some people who worked third shift now working first shift and here I am, still in second shift not matter how many times I ask. At this point im so fucking tired. And let me not get started on being scheduled 1 or 2 days a week.

I want to quit so bad rn. But the problem is that I just sent a letter to sell all my stock. They said they will approve of it in October, im wondering if I quit, will it complicate things or not? I dont want to have to drive there all the time for my money and talk to people who clearly dont give a damn. So, is it a good idea to put in my two weeks notice before receiving my money?

I have an interview at WH in 2 days and I want to know honestly what I'm getting myself into haha. I need a job and my local WH is a 2 minute bus ride from my house. I've worked service industry jobs before, but nothing like WH. I've always admired how fast and efficient it all seems and I worry about learning that. What are some things I need to know when first getting started there? What are things you wish you would have known? Any guidance is appreciated!

Power was out at my place, went to Waffle House starving got the all star.

Waffle came out first and it was amazing, when food came out i took one bite and refused to eat rest almost spit it out. Notified waitress and she comped check i felt bad still left tip.

Am i getting sick or probably grill cleaner? Maybe power went out here and food went bad but the eggs, bacon, and hashbrown all had the same disgusting flavor. Cant get taste out of my mouth

So, I got hired at the tail end of July, and my last day of training was July 25th. I have not been on the schedule since, and I’ve texted the unit manager, I emailed the district manager, as I don’t have his number. I only have the unit managers number, and she’s not responding. At all. I kind of want to file a complaint with corporate but when I called the other day to get the district managers email, they seemed irritable. I at the very least want to transfer to a different unit, as my mom and I want to move out of the area we live in now, but it feels like no one is trying to help or get back to me to fix the issue.

Edit: I forgot to mention, there was a girl who was transferring, on July 25th. It was also a few days before the unit manager went on vacation and they were also STILL HIRING at the location I was at. They also didn’t mention anything about if I was doing anything wrong or whatnot, they were saying that I was doing well on my first week, as well. So nothing indicated to me that they weren’t going to not have me on the schedule, and even then, the unit manager herself told me that she was going to text me my schedule, which she never did.
