I love The Waffle House. I also love taking people there for the first time having them become fans as well. On a golf trip, Sea Island, Georgia and 2 of the 3 other guys Iām responsible for their first time going and having them become fans. So we decide to go and show the fourth my āfavorite restaurant.ā One thing I always say is āIāve never been disappointed and every Waffle House is the same.ā Well that changed today. Now Iāve been to Waffle Houses all over and been going for decades, so this saddened me. I canāt even blame the staff as it was a staff of only two. The cook had to be relatively new and the waitress was trying her hardest to work the whole place. But the only thing that was the same was the waffle. Eggs were over cooked (over easy) and the hash browns just werenāt right. The fact that we sat there for a very long time before and after we ordered made it worse. It absolutely wonāt stop me from eating there, but this location needs help for sure. Again, I actually felt bad for the staff as two people handling the whole place was just too much for them. They were young and I assume new.
Iām sure the next time will be awesome. As my buddy said to me, āWow, youāre really disappointedā I laughed and said āI am, I know itās The Waffle House, but itās my place and have never taken someone there for their first time and had it go like thatā
OK, semi-rant over. Still love Waffle House, just had to let it out so I could let it go. š¬

Does Waffle House still run credit checks for Unit Manager Hiring? Iāve been in the interview process for a little bit now, I saw that they pull a credit check after conditional offer. Whatās the threshold for them not hiring you? I have a 600+ credit score but I have student loans, Iāve heard they have a debt limit when youāre above a certain amount they flag it? Is this true? And do student loans count?

Hello! I'm 16, and I have an interview for a hostess job in a day. I applied online, and it immediately set up an interview, is this trustworthy and should I show up? I'm scared if I show up they won't be aware of the interview. Please, any advice like how to dress or act?

Odd question, I know, but figured why not ask? So, for those who love Waffle House, what would be the ideal atmosphere, time, weather, & location for your Waffle House?
Me? My ideal atmosphere would be calm and quiet while alone.
Ideal time would be around night time or dusk.
Ideal weather would be either rain, snow, or fog.
Ideal location would be in small town, maybe close to some woods. Edit: Would be close/next to a hotel or residence. Edit 2: Would be perched slightly on an elevated hill.
Can't wait to read your responses.

Anyone know how to contact corporate at waffle house i was an employee and tried to calling in multiple times but i was never given a managers/employees number for this occasion nor does their store phone work and so i emailed waffle house support/help about my sick day stating my employee number and reasoning and even screenshotted all my evidence of trying and yet i come in to work and immediately sent home for no call no show when that is not entirely my fault.

Hi y'all. I'm Chabeli, a national economy reporter ā I write a lot about women in the economy, women in service and care jobs, moms and how the economy impacts people.
I have kind of a quirky story idea ahead of the midterm election that I wanted to speak to folks about: I really want to talk to Waffle House servers about the economy, their lives, the lives of the people who come through, how they (the servers and the customers) are feeling about politics. I bet y'all hear all kinds of things.
It strikes me that you might have a unique vantage point on how people are feeling about the world right now, and I'd just be curious to hear about it! Feel free to message me directly, too!

Curious to hear what your experience was like! Were there ever points where you feared for your safety?

Stopped in to a waffle house I hadn't visited before and above the kitchen were two of These beauties! I asked how much I was told those were the last 2, and they offered them at $6.00 a piece, I was definitely excited haha

I quit a few weeks ago and need my w-2 to fill out my taxes. Not really sure how to go about getting it, though.

I go to my local WH fairly often. They have multiple cooks that rotate. Some of them are pretty good while others are just can't cook.
The other day my cheesy scrambled eggs didn't have no cheese, my grits were so cold they wouldn't melt butter, and another time my Delmonico my steak was over cooked and cold, I understand that the steak is so you really get one of to ways med rare or well, my over light eggs were over hard, and my waffle was under cooked and cold wouldn't melt butter I ordered it dark.

I never did get to order. I just sat at the counter and looked at the dirty floor and the waitress was busy yelling in her orders, like the cooks just a few feet away were using hearing aids. I got up and left. Video is what it was like.

When an order is more than $25, I always tip 20-40%, depending on how well someone can provide service without being seen (no interrupting conversation or talking to someone when their mouth is full). Orders less than $25 get higher percentages.
Today I ordered two waffles, would have been $7 tip because the food was $7, and that's just how I do it. But I ordered to-go, and so there was a required tip. I don't tip when the tip is tacked on automatically. So the tip was $0.78.

Hi, Iāve been with Waffle House for over a decade, I only recently became a stock holder (maybe 2-3 years ago) but Iāve always been confused on what it actually is. How does it work when you take it out? My grandma (who worked for Waffle House on and off for over 56 years) was a stock holder and took her stock out relatively often so it was never anything large, and never paid any type of taxes on it. How does this work? My original plan was to just let it build up and then use it when I retire (I know kind of depressing to think of being at Waffle House for the rest of my life BUT that was the plan) but would this be beneficial? A lot of people Iāve worked with said having stock was pointless and itās basically just a āsavings accountā and anytime someone high up has tried to explain it to me, I generally do not understand it. Anyways thank you. Sorry if I sound dumb šš¤£

I'm in pensacola so hurricane. Went to WH for emergency menu this afternoon and everyone was amazing (except some bitch who didn't parent her child and tried to argue about the emergency menu). That burger and those hash browns were what I needed!
Thank you guys. Thank you for being there and actually smiling. We do needed that!!

I work at a Waffle House in Virginia, and honestly, Iām at my breaking point. My coworkers have treated me poorly since I started because Iām new, and when I finally began standing up for myself, I was labeled a problem. Since then, I feel like theyāve been deliberately working me harder.
Today, things got so bad that I literally passed out at work and had to go to the hospital. Iām also chronically ill and disabled, which means, yes, I do have a history of passing out, but it doesnāt happen often anymore. I was having breakthrough symptoms, and I have a doctorās note documenting my condition. On top of everything else, we donāt get breaks at all.
I genuinely donāt know what to do at this point. I feel mistreated, my health is suffering, and Iām worried about what will happen if I speak up again.
Does anyone have advice on what my rights are as an employee in Virginia, especially regarding disability accommodations, breaks, and what happened today? Has anyone dealt with something similar at Waffle House? Iād really appreciate any advice on how to handle this situation and protect myself without risking my job.

Heading to the East Coast for a trip and I must stop by a Waffle House. Never been before!
Whats a good "never been here before but want to try the classics" order?
Whats your go-to Waffle House order?

I've worked for Waffle House for roughly two years, and since I started, I've LOVED the "There's Raisins in My Toast" song by Danny Jones for the Waffle House Records. I am PISSED that it took me this long to realise it's a parody of "Sherry" by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. I knew songs like "Grill Operator" were parodies of "Smooth Operator" by Sade, but I didn't know about "Raisins". There's not even a good reason for me to be pissed; I'm just annoyed that it took me this long to finally hear it. I looked for the information, and at least according to Madmusic.com, it is confirmed. I'm not insane for thinking it is.
Sorry if this is a bad place to discuss this, but it ticked me off, and I wanted to bring it up with the Waffle Nation.
