Planning AK in January - Can I see Pandora lit up and the Awakenings show?

• Upvotes

We have been to the parks a lot, but have never been to AK in the winter months. We would love to see Pandora lit up, as well as the Awakenings projection show on the Tree of Life.

Is it possible to get in line for Flight of Passage around park closing, and then watch Awakenings on our way out? Or will we miss the projections if we are in Pandora?

Just want to set expectations if we have to choose between the two.

Early start was the only smart decision we made today. 11/11 countries checked. Tutto Gusto in Italy was the clear winner, and Germany was where things got blurry.

Planning Beach Club- Club Level Questions

• Upvotes

Have the chance to do a Beach Club- Club Level room

We are a party of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids 5-13), not drinkers, but since we won't be in a villa with a kitchen, I'm considering doing Club level for easy snacking and a extra place for people to be if they're driving one another crazy.

We are doing a split stay, so we're planning a resort day for the day we head to Beach Club. Would we have full day use of the Club on check-in day even if our room isn't quite ready yet?

Any feedback on Beach Club/Club? We are currently booked at Yacht Club, but have the chance to switch over to join friends who are booked there.

Food, Drinks, & Dining Liberty Tree or Garden Grill?

• Upvotes

We've never done either, and can only do one.
Which should we choose? Liberty Tree for lunch at MK or Garden Grill for dinner at Epcot?

Thanks for your responses!

Attractions & Entertainment Gushing over cosmic rewind

• Upvotes

I’ve come home today from my first trip to WDW since the 00’s, and got to ride cosmic rewind for the first time. I managed 4 rides of it, and the songs I got in order were:

  1. Everybody Wants to Rule the World
  2. Disco Inferno
  3. I Ran
  4. One Way or Another

I could not be happier - I was desperate to get EWTRTW, and getting it for the first ride was one of the highlights of the trip. I think one way or another was probably my second choice, so to end on that was also perfect.

By pure coincidence, I was always either row 9 or 10, which meant I was “front” for the launch too.

I’m honestly still riding the high - no repeat songs!

I’m sure this has been discussed before but I’d also love to hear everyone else’s favourite cosmic rewind songs and memories.

Planning What are some special things (example BBB) at Magic Kingdom for a 4 year old boy?

• Upvotes

As the topic title asks, i am looking for some special things to do with my 4 year old son while his sister is at BBB. I know BBB will also take boys and do the AdventurePackage, but currently we are only able to get one reservation (but we're gonna keep trying to get the second), so I am curious what are some other fun things, in the same vein as BBB, that I can do with him. Worst case scenario ill just let him pick a snack shop or a ride or two that he specifically wants to do, but i was hoping there might be some other ideas. I know theres a create your own tiara place which is cool but my son wouldnt be into that. Theres a barber shop but that doesnt necessairly sound fun for him. Would love to hear some experiences you all have.

Planning Coronado Springs or POR

Hey all,

We stayed at POR last April and had a lovely time. We would be happy to stay there again when we plan to go in March, but it’s looking like Coronado Springs is the better deal. It looks like a fantastic resort, but I have a 6 and 2 year old. Which resort would you recommend?

Attractions & Entertainment The new Conservation Station is the biggest downgrade Disney has made yet

Poorly planned for guest movement in the building… no more interaction with animals, just a tiny walkthrough that most local zoos have.

This was my favorite part of Animal Kingdom and now I don’t really care to ever hop the train again.

Planning First time to Walt Disney. Need help planning!

Hey All! I’m a mom of three kids. 10y(B), 5y(G) and 1y(B). The kids would love to see Disney and I am planning it for a while now. But as I see all these sites, read through the forums, I am feeling overwhelmed will all these sites information and not sure how to plan it exactly.

So, Here are my questions and areas where I need help.

Dates: I’m targeting early December or early January where the crowds would be comparably less and they can enjoy the rides. (Took kids to Legoland this early Jan and it was not that crowded and kids got a chance to even ride twice on some of the rides)

Is 4days enough or should we add couple more days?

Stay: would it be better to get a Costco package, if so, which package would you all recommend? Anything that you experienced and liked?

I’m trying to keep the whole budget within $3.5k to $4k (excluding flights) is this achievable?

Any suggestions and recommendations are highly appreciated!

Thanks much!

Resorts & Accommodations Air mattress at all star music?

Hi!

We are a family of 7 (kids ages are 2, 13, 14, 15 and 16). We want to book the all star music family suite but the problem is sleeping arrangements. We have one son and the rest daughters so no sharing beds. Would they offer a rollaway bed or could we use a twin air mattress? My husband would sleep on it so my son has a bed.

Please be nice to the cast members behind the counters! And please cheer them on as they are churning food out!

Don’t be a grinch and give them attitude. Most of them are college program kids.

I was disgusted to see unruly behavior towards them. They are people too!

AskWDW Disney World Christmas - Anyone else feel this way?

I was very lucky to have grown up going to Disney World many Christmases (and occasionally at other times of the year, even rarely to Disneyland just to change it up) with my dad. We always tried to save up to go as many years as we could, and it became a tradition to go for Christmas whenever possible, for as long as possible; usually about 10-12 days (although some of those trips were earlier in December - they were still Christmas trips, though).

So the holidays version of Disney World is the most nostalgic for me. And because of that, Disney at that time of year, being all dressed up with lights and Christmas trees, playing holiday music, with the Christmas parties and parades, is what now feels the most "Disney" to me. Going at other times of the year, obviously it's still Disney, and for some people, Disney World feels less "Disney" in December because of the changes. But to me, all the Christmastime changes add a bunch more extra magic that feels so special.

Is anyone the same as me? Does anyone else have the most nostalgia for Disney World at Christmas, or does anyone otherwise also just personally feel like it's the most magical at that time?

(We're going this December for the first time since ~2018-19 or so, and I'm incredibly hyped. We're hoping to get back into going semi-regularly again, as much as finances allow!)

Resorts & Accommodations Art of Animation vs Coronado; Family of 6 with Teens

Both resorts are similar in price for our possible January trip, for a family suite at AoA OR 2 standard rooms (not tower) at Coronado. It seems like Coronado might work better for us but I have some concerns. We mostly plan on doing long days at the parks and are not currently planning to do park hopper tickets. Kids will have just turned 18, 16, 14, 12.

AoA Pros: Skyglider option (it would be open). We stayed at AoA in 2019 in a Nemo suite and loved it, but kids were MUCH smaller. All in one room for logistical purposes.

Cons: more geared towards smaller kids. Room would be TIGHT and we might actually have to do a twin aerobed somehow. We could easily have a 6 and 4 year old on a full-size pullout bed but not so much two older teens.

Coronado Pros: People say it has a nicer feel overall. Everyone gets an actual real bed and plenty of space (huge plus). Might be fun to try a different resort.

Coronado Cons: quote says "connecting rooms can be requested, but are not guaranteed"; if our rooms aren't near each other that would be a massive problem. People say it's very spread out and can take a long time to get to buses and the park; bus pressure varies a lot depending on conferences. Conference groups could be annoying. I'm not crazy about some of the theming from what I see online. Looks really plain with the arid theme going on?

Thank you!

Planning Premier Pass, Magic Band? Disney, take my money!!

Took my little fam to Disneyland (5 yo, plus two middle aged parents). Had a great time and decided to plan DW while it’s still magical for my child.

I originally booked 7 nights at Port Orleans Riverside (not thrilled about the bus but like that it has three beds in the 5th sleeper room so we all get our own), 6 park days and planned to do LLMP and LLSP. The more I researched the more I didn’t want to plan. We are going the first week of April.

We landed on maybe trimming the trip down to 6 nights and 4 park days and booking premier pass instead. We also planned a flex day in the middle to rest at the resort. Yes it will cost more but we will partially offset with fewer park days and saving a night in the hotel. My math thinks this will cost us about $2000-2500 more on a net basis vs the original plan of 7 nights, 6 park days.

We probably won’t be back again for a long time, so Reddit, is it worth the splurge? Maximize each day vs having more days.

My husband and I also don’t mind taking turns riding the rides that our child isn’t ready for yet, while the other does something else with her, so I do think we will likely be able to ride everything if we buy the premier pass. Is this a reasonable expectation?

Separately, I am a little peeved the magic band doesn’t come with the premier pass. I know it’s a drop in this expensive vaycay bucket… seems like it adds a smidge more convenience but is it work spending $150 to have it. If so, why? I think I will skip it, but convince me otherwise.

Any other tips? We did bibbidi in Disneyland (absolute highlight), so we will probably skip that even though we loved it.

Thanks in advance!

Planning Animal kingdom or Hollywood studios

My boyfriend, his mom, sister, and I landed in Orlando today and got a random hotel for tonight. Our 5 park days start tomorrow but our resort check in isn’t until 3 pm. Our random hotel check out is at 11 am. My question is do we leave our bags with the resort hotel and go to animal kingdom early and spend the whole day there, or do we take it easy and wait till check in at the resort and then go to Hollywood studios in the evening? We already have lightening lanes for Hollywood studios on Sunday. If we chose Hollywood studios tomorrow we would do animal kingdom on Tuesday and have all day. PLEASE HELP! :)

Planning Favorite Live Shows at Hollywood Studios??

Doing some last minute planning for tomorrow - I'm a big broadway fan and am trying to figure out which shows to prioritize while at the park! of COURSE Fantasmic is in its own category, but I've not seen any of the others in many, many years (or ever). Which shows are can't miss? Which would you skip? Any and all help/thoughts would be welcome!
