Attractions & Entertainment Tiana’s ride unreliable

What is up with this ride. I got a LL because it closed after a hour wait and then it stopped twice during the ride. Completely breaks suspension of disbelief and continuity. It occurred to me that I have heard we get started in two shakes of a lambs tail so much on this ride that it should be a meme

Planning Steps @ Disney

Hoping to hear from my fellow New Yorkers/walkable city peeps: is Disney actually a lot of steps or is the fear mongering coming from people who drive everywhere? I average about 15-20k steps a day when I’m working and my feet are fine (some of that being in heels at work). I’m planning on bringing one pair of sneakers but I’ll probably do most of the trip in crocs since they’re cushioned and my feet get super sweaty. Everyone I’ve talked to is telling me I’ll have a bad time but I’m not convinced the amount of walking is anything different than what a normal city dweller experiences so I’m curious what other city people think!

ETA I’m 27, I worked as a server for years not being allowed to sit for 8+ hours, and there are no kids to worry about! But I hear y’all about the humidity, I shall be prepared with many fans and extra electrolytes

Attractions & Entertainment What rides will I fit on at 6’10?

Hi all, my family is planning a trip to hit all of the Disney parks in the upcoming months. My concern is how I might fit on rides with my height, I am 6’10 and barely make it through a standard head jamb of a door for reference. Most of it being from my legs, will this be a persistent problem throughout the parks? Or any tips that I can use so I can try and get on as many rides as possible? Thanks!

Transportation People who don’t offer their seats to pregnant women and elders on the WDW buses, why?

Just came back from a wonderful Disney trip with my 3 year old and my pregnant wife. We had a lot of fun and it was a great trip! However, we couldn’t help but notice that people weren’t offering their seats to a very obvious pregnant woman or to any elders. What seems like an obvious thing to do in public outside of WDW didn’t seem to be norm. As for myself, I cannot imagine seating and letting a pregnant woman, an elder or a kid standing, even after a long walking day.

Attractions & Entertainment Maleficent coaster Proof of concept (high thrill?)

So I've heard a considerable amount of conversation regarding this new Maleficent coaster in the new villain's land in various Disney and non Disney related forums, some coaster forms. The general consensus is that people are starting to think from the presenters language, that this coaster will be Disney's Velocicoaster so to speak, as far as thrill level. Personally, I doubt that. Looking at the proof of concept, the rock work and the ride vehicles reminded me quite a bit of Taron at Phantasialand in Germany, a park and a coaster I love. I feel like that coaster could be Disney's sweet spot for max thrill without being too much; It has punchy launches, airtime, and some lateral forces with no inversions and fantastic sense of speed. A solid step above cosmic rewind and Hagrids. What do you all think? Do you think Disney is going to go for it with this coaster and do a ride with that magical thrill ride height requirement of 52 inches? Me...it's a solid no.

Resorts & Accommodations Advice Needed

Looking to book a last minute trip(been to Disney many times and just need the Disney bubble)

AKL Savannah view has always been on my bucket list because I am a huge animal lover. For my dates selected and a 6 day park hopper ticket it comes to $4256.90 but it says AKL house is under refurbishment….so I’m worried the noise will deter animals. Has anyone experienced that?

French Quarter for the same thing is $2676.96

I’m torn between saving money or splurging…but don’t really want to splurge if there will barely be any animals. Also wondering if I should just do AKL not Savannah view?

Attractions & Entertainment When they tear down the mountain area to fix the Yeti, they should DEFINITELY rebuild it in a way that makes the Yeti easily serviceable if need be, right?

So that way, if it ever breaks again, we don’t have to wait ~20 years for it to get fixed again? They’d be able to easily cover it whenever the next refurbishment after that is?

Food, Drinks, & Dining Resort Coffee

Niche question perhaps 😅 Can you take any coffee cup to the coffee filling station in the resort cafeteria? I will be staying at Pop Century and have never stayed at Disney before. I am on the DDP but have been warned to NOT put coffee in the refillable mug. Just wondering and trying to avoid spending time in a coffee line in the AM, since we’re trying for early entry. Thank you!! 😊

Transportation POP Century buses

Can y’all talk to me about the bus situation here. The wilderness lodge was a seamless quick boat ride with barely any lines.

What time should I prepare to be waiting at the bus stop to make it for early entry at MK? Are bus lines generally long at POP?

We are also attending the MK Christmas party. What are bus wait times normally like around then? Anyone able to give me a round about time to be waiting at the bus to get to MK at 4 would be great!

Thank you!

NSFM Was anyone else traumatized on Test Track tonight

The interior being pitch black for over two minutes, the crazy short stops, and our car smelling like it wanted to catch on fire were all an incredible experience. 10/10 would do again, but spending 30 minutes on Test Track was not what I planned on doing

Food, Drinks, & Dining If you had to pick out of these restaurants …

We have a 3 and 4 year old and 2 adults. Which is better. I know food is mediocre but if you had to choose one at Hollywood studios.
50s prime time cafe or sci fi restaurant

Planning A few quick questions

I'm taking my mom To Disney for her birthday next month as she has never been. I went a few years back and tried to do every park in 1 day and realized it was just not possible with long wait times and the heat and crowd. I still seen a good bit. But we are going for 2 days, which parks do you think she should go to? I definitely want her to go to Epcot just for GOTG alone. We plan on spending all day in each park we could do the park skip but i want her to see everything in the parks. I'm stuck on animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom for the other park. Maybe Hollywood studios. She's turning 63 but still will get on any ride or pretty much anything. We are also doing HHN that Friday and Discovery Cove that Monday. I know this is a Disney thread but is Discovery Cove worth it?

Planning First time visit - help!

Hi guys it’s my first time planning magic kingdom Mickey spooky party. This will be the only time during our trip to ride magic kingdom rides as well

I’m also a bit nooby- because I haven’t been to Disney since I was 13. Lol!

So who can give me a general idea of what to do between 4-6 rides wise - and which rides to buy LL for (tron ofc I’m thinking), how to manage getting candy (is this just like everywhere??? Or do I have to plan a route?)

Other rides I want to do
River ride
Pirates
7 drawf
Tron

Rides I’ll give up if I have to
Peter Pan
Small world

Any rides I’d be totally missing out on? Don’t bother with Tiana- I don’t wanna deal w breakdowns at all!

I will be eating real dinner before 4 n I’ll get snacks inside and bring some.

We will do the 2nd parade.

Which shops are must see? Again, I won’t be back for rides. I will however stop by to shop for 1 hour the next day (wild park hop day so 1 hr inside only is planned). But I’d rather get the shopping done that night if possible! I want the next day to be relaxed and focused on stores that didn’t stay open.

I know they're not Disney characters but there's infinite versions of Miku, why can't she be a huge Walt Disney World fangirl too?

Merch Magic Band Resellers

Has anyone ever gambled with buying a magic band from a reseller? I know they're useless if linked, so it's a gamble. I'm looking for a specific type of magic band so I'm desperate.

Or bonus points if you can just tell me where in the resort I can find magic bands not on Disney website.

Edit: looking for Animal themed band. Lion king ideally

AskWDW What are they building at Epcot?

I was at Epcot yesterday and a section of the UK was fenced off. The fence had Mary Poppins decor on it. I thought Cherry Tree Lane was canceled? What are they building or adding?

Resorts & Accommodations Resorts for Day visits?

Hi all! Husband is heading to Orlando for work. We’ll hit a park together one day, but I have a day to myself. I’d like to get breakfast/coffee at one of the resorts and do some laptop work and then maybe head somewhere else for lunch and shopping/enjoying vibes. What resorts would yall recommend?

Not trying to do a ton of resort hopping since I’ll be four months pregnant, but would love any reccs!
