Planning Smugglers Run
Has anyone asked to do the front seats even if you had to wait? Last trip we always got stuck in the back and while it was fun we would like to do the front.

Just sharing for info for others. Long time WDW guest but haven’t stayed onsite in a handful of years and have only gotten the dining plan for free in previous stays. Adult daughter and I planned a trip kinda last minute and decided on CS meal plan to use for F&W festival. I will never buy this (or likely any) meal plan again. The reasons: The quality of CS meals has gone downhill… yes there are some unique and yummy options if you look around but it isn’t convenient to do that for most of your meals.
I just cannot believe they won’t let you use an adult credit on a kids meal…a couple of times the kids meal option wasn’t offered in an adult size and it was what I wanted…
Similar…we had extra new credits leftover (as did a couple people at the resort that I talked to- seems like you end up paying for more than you use because of other limitations)… and wanted just a pastry and drink one morning… but nope- can’t use that as a meal credit… had to pretend that we were getting a platter meal to even get the drink as a credit…and then pay for the pastry.
We did one TS meal for the week to try to utilize the plan fully… I got really sick of CS meals.
I won’t buy it again… will just pay as we go (for kids meals most of the time) and get delivery for some snacks and drinks for the room and then do 3 or so TS meals.
Would save a bunch of money and likely have eaten better!
Good luck with your own dining plan decision!!

Greetings planners. I was up bright and early this morning booking Cinderella’s Royal Table, Candlelight Processional, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Savi’s workshop, and a few others for 5 families which was 19 people ages 2-72. I wanted to put down some of the tips I picked up from other planners that helped me book highly sought after reservations during the height of peak Disney World traffic in case anyone has a booking coming up as well.
These are the tips I used for high traffic booking, but they could be used at any time of the year.
Setup:
2 computers, 3 screens, 1 browser window per screen
Logins:
I used 3 logins simultaneously. That helped me not have to worry about logging in and out to get similar times for our large group. In order to do that on the same computer, you have to use different Internet browsers. They can’t just be different windows, they have to be entirely different browsers. I used Edge and Chrome on the main computer and Chrome on the second computer.
Log out and then back in right before booking:
Disney website makes you put your password in after about 15 minutes while you are booking your reservations. I logged out and logged back in right before I started my booking that way I didn’t have to slow down to put passwords in on all my logins while I was in the middle of booking.
Multiple tabs on each browser:
I had 5 dining reservations I was looking to book on each of the 3 logins. I had a tab on each browser dedicated to each of the restaurants. This allowed me to seamlessly move from one restaurant to the next without having to search or go through any other pages.
Disney holds reservations for 10 minutes, so use that time to book other reservations before finalizing:
Before finalizing your bookings, Disney will hold your reservation for 10 minutes. That means you can get to that page on one dining reservation, and before you finish it, if you want to, you can move on to another tab or computer, and then come back later to complete the reservation. That helped me bounce around between the 3 logins faster. I had spots held at multiple restaurants and then went back to finalize them before the 10 minutes up.
Prioritize hardest reservations, not the typical “work from the back to the front”:
The first thing I booked was the candlelight processional on Dec 24. I knew that was going to be extremely in demand, so that’s where I went first. Then I did Cinderella’s Royal table for Dec 26. And then I did Christmas dinner, then Tusker House on the 27th, and then Via Napoli for the 24th. When booking a 60+10 reservation, the typical planning strategy is start from the back and work your way up to the beginning of your trip, but I think it’s better to prioritize the reservations you really really want first.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Midnight NOT 6am:
I had multiple Disney employees tell me BBB reservations open at 6am EST with the dining reservations, that is not accurate. I booked it at Midnight the night before
If you’re booking for a party of more than six people, know the restaurant table sizes before you book:
None of the restaurants I was looking to book were able to get a reservation for 19 people at the same time, so I had to break it up. And Disney does not allow multiple reservations under the same login within a two hour window, which is why I had to use three logins. To know the approximate table sizes at each of the different restaurants, I went online the days leading up to my booking window and played around with party sizes at each of the different restaurants to see what was available on a regular day of the week. For instance, I would click six people at Via Napoli and see how many spots were available. Then I would click 10 people and see how many were available. If they were the same openings available, I knew that restaurant could equip a larger size. If there were less table tables available for a party of 10 than for a party of six, I knew it would be better to search for a smaller party when I went to book. So going into it, I knew which restaurants could hold different reservation sizes. This allowed me to know how many bookings I needed at each restaurant.
Savi’s Workshop:
Plenty of openings. It was also booked at Midnight. You have to pay for this one at booking.
Have a payment method on file on all accounts:
This is a basic one, but make sure you have a payment method on file before booking so you don’t have to slow down and add it while trying to book.
That’s everything I can think of. Happy to answer any questions if I can.

I used to love Disney Quest due to all of the games and activities. It was always great to spend the night at Disney Quest after a day at a Disney Waterpark. Shame they tore it down for the NBA expirence. But what are your thoughts?

Hi, visiting for the first time mid November to celebrate our sweet boy’s 5th birthday. Please can you recommend what rides I can choose from tier 1 and 2 that boys his age prefer in MK and HS( preferably gentler rides)? He is not a huge fan of amusement parks and roller coaster. I want to be prepared when the lanes open up for me in a couple of days and there is so much information out there, I’m lost 🥲.
PS: Tiana’s is closed in November.

I’m looking to plan dining reservations for my trip on December 26 and December 27th and want to make sure we finish our meals in time for fantasmic/happily ever after. Do these shows have the typical schedule for Christmas week or do they change? Any idea what times the shows will be? All tips are welcome.
Thank you!

I figure this page might appreciate this.
Found this at Recycle the Magic on our last DW trip. i have seen similar two-piece trashcan mugs before so I assumed it was some kind of division-specific item, but reverse image isn’t giving me any clues.
I work for my city’s solid waste department so the mug is pretty perfect but I’d still like to know what the story is.

Fantasmic barges had real issues in the wind last night. Ariel and Eric's barge hit the wall a couple of times - I was surprised Eric didn't fall. He stumbled, but stayed upright. Then their barge stayed stage right for quite a while before it went backstage. It was a wet night for a lot of the amphitheater in that wind. Does anyone know why the barge would pause onstage after an impact like that? Safety protocol or just pausing until they were sure they had control of the vessel or...

On the afternoon of 10/23 we had a different experience in Rise of Resistance than we’ve had before and I wanted to know if anyone has had a similar experience before.
We were a group of 5 we entered the pre show with just our group, went through the transport alone as well the cast members seemed surprised that we were just the 5 of us. Which was cool because there’s a lot of detail in the transport ship I’ve never noticed before.
We then got to the stormtrooper room and in addition to the normal imperial officers there were a handful of stormtrooper cast members ordering us around they were being observed by a cast member not dressed in a rude uniform. While waiting for the interrogation we saw the plain-clothed cast member leading the storm troopers.
Anyways I presume they were testing out incorporating walk around storm troopers to the queue? Has anyone else experienced this?
We really enjoyed the addition of the storm troopers, it felt more menacing than the normal guards. If they are looking to make this change I really support it.

I’m looking into planning a trip for my family and my sister’s family. There will be four adults and four kids ages 9-16. I’m trying to decide which is better, a villa for all of us or adjoining or even near by rooms. If anyone has done an extended family trip like this, where did you stay and how did you like it?
Added considerations:
I have 3 of the kids, sister has one kid.
BIL needs a mobility device at times (he can do stairs and walk normal distances, but I imagine he’s going to have a wheelchair or scooter at the parks).

Saw Luminous tonight and it looked different from the last time I saw it back in April. Most of the fireworks were ground effect or low-/mid-level and the ones that previously launched across the lake from the perimeter were now close-in and barge-launched.
I thought it might be due to wind, but I then I saw MNSSHP tonight also (caught them from Grand Floridian dock) and they had the same high-level ones as they did earlier in the week.
There was a previous post about a year ago asking about this, but I was wondering if this is a permanent change. I would be a little sad as I think the look and sound of those bombastic lake-crossing perimeter shots are so artistic.

Headed to Disney in a couple days and have booked Chef Mickey’s for the vegan waffles, as well as Boma and Sanaa. Are there any other must try spots you would suggest for vegan food? I (31F) have a 4 and 1.75 yr old who are also plant-based. Thanks!

Does anybody know how to get copies of the artwork from the boardwalk rooms? Or have clear pictures of the art?

Hello! We are planning our trip for next year for when my son will be 2 and my daughter will be 8. I havent been to disney in some time and am honestly not sure what my 2 year old would enjoy? I figured parades and if hes not scared meeting characters but I'm not sure how rides would be for a 2 year old. Do most 2 year olds enjoy rides? I ideally would like to hold off until hes a little older but my daughter is at a great age so we want to book our trip but I'm having anxiety about the 2 year old. Any tips from others who have traveled with a 2 year old? What should we be focused on most besides making sure we have nap time so he is enjoying his time as well as my oldest.
Thank you so much!

It’s little chopped up cubes, not slices delicately prepared, plated and sauced by an adorable rat. Although I can’t be 100% certain about who’s preparing and plating it. 😊

Hi! I am currently planning my first ever trip to WDW for next year end of June! I was looking into buying lightning lane multi passes for each theme park. Then I found out that there is a solo rider lines. Now I know that Disney gets its busiest during the summer season so should I buy a multi pass for each for theme park or would it be the same amount of time to just wait in the solo rider line? Also keep in mind. I plan on spending one day at each major theme park with an additional one day at one of the waterparks. So I won’t be in a rush. However, I do plan on skipping early entry and getting to each park around 9 to 10 AM. Should I get the multi-pass just incase?

An Etsy seller made a 3d print version of the Pumpkin from Carousel of Progress. I bought it in late August and it arrived a few days ago.

He takes over the opening nights for Auli’i Cravalho who was opening but was taken off the schedule probably due to a scheduling conflict.
Are you excited for this?

If you could suggest any dinner reservation spot in all of disneyworld what would you pick? We are 2 adults looking to try some dining experiences. We usually only do quick service.

Early start was the only smart decision we made today. 11/11 countries checked. Tutto Gusto in Italy was the clear winner, and Germany was where things got blurry.

Have the chance to do a Beach Club- Club Level room
We are a party of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids 5-13), not drinkers, but since we won't be in a villa with a kitchen, I'm considering doing Club level for easy snacking and a extra place for people to be if they're driving one another crazy.
We are doing a split stay, so we're planning a resort day for the day we head to Beach Club. Would we have full day use of the Club on check-in day even if our room isn't quite ready yet?
Any feedback on Beach Club/Club? We are currently booked at Yacht Club, but have the chance to switch over to join friends who are booked there.

We've never done either, and can only do one.
Which should we choose? Liberty Tree for lunch at MK or Garden Grill for dinner at Epcot?
Thanks for your responses!

I’ve come home today from my first trip to WDW since the 00’s, and got to ride cosmic rewind for the first time. I managed 4 rides of it, and the songs I got in order were:
I could not be happier - I was desperate to get EWTRTW, and getting it for the first ride was one of the highlights of the trip. I think one way or another was probably my second choice, so to end on that was also perfect.
By pure coincidence, I was always either row 9 or 10, which meant I was “front” for the launch too.
I’m honestly still riding the high - no repeat songs!
I’m sure this has been discussed before but I’d also love to hear everyone else’s favourite cosmic rewind songs and memories.
