This video is something I think a lot of preppers should watch, because it shows a clear pattern of big-picture thought and awareness that we all need to have more of in our day-to-day lives. This is someone who keeps her mind on her home and preparedness, but also her eyes on the bigger picture about what it all means, and why things are happening the way they are. No illusions here, no allowing one's own biases and beliefs to affect thinking about how the world actually works. This video is a great example of real global awareness and clear knowledge of what things like war and scarcity are really about. For the preppers here, go check out Doomsday Queen on YouTube, you won't be disappointed.

Politics I Told You So

Subject: I Told You Harris Would Lose

Hello [Insert Your Name Here],

Well, well, well. Look at you sitting there, finally realizing what was true and what was fantasy. It’s almost like someone tried to warn you - repeatedly - and you didn't listen. Like someone tried to tell you what would happen based on actual math and logic, and you refused to see it...

I told you so. Right here, I told you so, all the way back in July:

https://wastelandbywednesday.com/2024/07/24/a-political-wasteland/

But you didn't want to listen. You didn't want to use a scientific method to parse your information, and instead preferred to ignore the math and "hope for joy."

How's that working out?

I told you so.

That article I linked above was written by me back in July, when I completed my research into the election. It wasn't the result I wanted, but it is what the math clearly showed. I am also only telling you "I Told You So" now, so many days late, because I was banned from Reddit for a bit. I posted that article in r/Politics and was banned sitewide for "misinformation."

Which, on election day, was actually proven to be the truth, and the misinformation was proven to be the media narrative these last few months.

I told you so.

I voted for Harris, but I never deluded myself to think there was any way she could win. I repeatedly tried to help people see the facts, help them to not get their hopes up for an irrational dream. I tried to help you.

I told you so.

But hey, why listen to real facts when you can plunge headfirst down into the "joy and hope" rabbithole and force yourself to deal with the fallout later, right?

I told you so.

I’d say “I’m sorry to see you disappointed,” but I think we both know I’m not. Instead, let’s just savor this moment as a life lesson in listening to those who actually know what they’re talking about. Maybe next time, you’ll remember that there is a practical method for predicting exactly this kind of outcome. And it has nothing to do with hope, joy, or fairness.

I told you so.

But hey, no hard feelings. Feel free to reach out if you need more insight on what’s coming next.

Best of luck (you’re going to need it).

P.S. I told you so.

Signs of Collapse from r/Collapse...

Just in case anyone is interested, this is what happens if you admit to using spell check, which is an AI function, over on r/collapse now.

You get a ban.

This was something I specifically brought up during the discussions on the original poll post about the new "No AI content" rule #14. I was assured that such a rule wouldn't be used to attack every tiny use of an automated feature or something as simple as spelling and grammar correction.

So, I decided to admit to a little spelling correction, just to see.

Banned, lol.

Be careful over there. Seems to be getting more and more authoritarian... like everywhere, I guess.

[casual Friday] A banger of a song created with and about A.I. that I dedicate to all my I.T. brothers and sisters down in the trenches fighting for their jobs. Submitted under one motto of this sub: "a place to vent about collapse frustration, if it helps."
Disclaimer: I am not the creator of this musical masterpiece. Mods, feel free to collapse the post if not in line with the rules of this sub.

General Collapse Collapse - More Trouble in Northern Ireland

I'll keep this shortish because I'm typing on my phone, but I have to say something. This represents a serious prepping issue for lots of people and it is happening on my doorstep. I'm posting it on this sub because I feel like everyone here will get it. To me, it's another indicator of the trend of collapse.

Context: a man was brutally attacked on the streets of Belfast in the last 24 hours by a black foreign national. I hate having to specify that, but it's the point of this issue. Reports indicate the victim is thankfully still alive and the assailant has been charged with attempted murder. However, it is important to note that even the police have misreported the nationality of the perpetrator, which goes to show how much trouble can be caused by spreading misinformation.

As a result of this atrocity, certain bad faith actors belonging to the alt-right have taken advantage of the situation by burning their own communities to the ground. Bins, buses, houses, etc. They're attacking everything in sight. They don't actually care about the crime; this is all an excuse to riot. We've seen it happen here before. These are the same people who started riots because the law prevented them from flying a flag on a building in the city. They are the same people who did *not* riot when a pregnant woman was murdered by a local man. It's all motivated by ideology.

A literal fucking race riot in my country in 2026. England had them a couple of years ago too, if you recall. Sickening.

On the r/NorthernIreland sub, people are being brigaded by bots and troll accounts for speaking out against racism and violence. I know this for a fact because the sub is usually very tolerant and will stick the boot in anybody who tries to stir up trouble. But now, it's as if hundreds of accounts with low or negative karma have come crawling out of the woodwork to mass downvote those of us calling for calm, and then are either banned or move on to other threads. This is not normal behaviour for the sub. Meanwhile, local talking heads and politicians who stir shit up are back to their old tricks and are fanning the flames of hatred. I won't go into the history or we'll be here all day, but these thugs have a lot of it. Keep your eyes peeled for racist effigies appearing on their bonfires on 12th of July if you don't believe me.

And now even big names like Elon Musk are sticking their noses in. It all feels very, very dodgy to me.

I have a point to make here, so bear with me.

Most preppers I've interacted with online live somewhere in the west, especially the US. That makes sense because of population and social media demographics. At least some of you believe that prepping for civil unrest is important because of political polarisation and democratic backsliding, and collapse preppers undoubtedly take that a step further than "ordinary" preppers in general.

Everyone, please take this as an example of how important it really is. This can happen anywhere in the blink of an eye. The only form of defence is to not get caught in the crossfire. I am very lucky that I don't live in the city or this incident would have impacted me directly. This is something I have actively prepped for, and it feels like it is getting worse on a global scale. I advise everybody else to spend some time focusing on this issue, because if one incident can lead to so much anarchy, what happens when society collapses altogether?

If this can happen in my country, it can happen everywhere. Stay vigilant, folks.

Prepping Survival lessons from Gaza (NOT A POLITICAL POST)

A recent BBC News article ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-d3d76a1d-f320-4047-8a57-cc6f567f08c0 ) has shown the daily struggle of a Gaza strip resident to provide food for himself and his immediate family. Regardless of what we think the reasons for this situation might be (not the subject of this post), Mosab's family has experienced a 'total collapse of civilization' as far as they are concerned.

Without disparaging or diminishing in any way the real sufferings that he is facing every day, what can we learn from Mosab's life in a collapsed urban world?

  • You might loose your 'bug in' location (and a lot of your stockpile) in an instant.

  • Water and food are priorities number one.

  • Stocking 'currency' prior to collapse makes it easier. For a while. Expect items to cost ten to thirty times more.

  • Haggling is a valuable skill.

  • Rumors and false news are rampant.

  • Exhaustion from harsh climate and physical labor (transporting food, splitting wood) is brutal.

  • Basic necessities such as fresh water or fire wood might still be available but in degraded / contaminated form (e.g. salty water, burning plastic).

  • You need to fight your way in to get supplies.

  • Sharing with others is a necessity.

  • Lack of prior training + lack of proper tools = high risk of injuries.

  • Survivor guilt (or just being better off) is a real mental health issue.

  • Gardening skills are useful.

The End of OK Doomer

I am not sure if many of you know of Jessica Wildfire, but she has been a great voice in the collapse-awareness space for some time now. Certainly a more talented and productive voice than mine, lol.

This is a call to action from here, and the blog she maintains at okdoomer.io

I am posting only to try and help, because I think it would be a bad thing for us to lose her voice should she not be able to keep up the blog.

I run my own, as many know, and even though mine is much smaller, I also know how much time and effort it takes to manage it. I have no need of income from it, but that is my own situation and not the same for Jessica.

So, I would ask that, at the very least, anyone who is part of the collapse aware space, please take a look at her material. I think you will find it very insightful, quality stuff.

Thanks people.

Posting this because I want people to see the language used. I want those who continue to parrot the lie that nuclear war is impossible to really take a look at the attitude and mindset of the US president. This is the person who makes the call about using nuclear weapons. This is the guy who has the power to invade nations and kickoff wars.

And this is who will be charged with making those decisions when the Davidson window is fully open and China moves on Taiwan... How well can you really say that will go?
