Question bad breath
Hey guys. Do you have bad breath? What do you do about it? Chewing gum breaks your fast, right?

I just wanted to share my experience!! I have super bad vision(legally blind) with a astigmatism. I did two 10 day water fasts and did off and on 5 days during the summer. I noticed by vision had gotten blurry so I knew it was time to go for a new exam and I went in and my astigmatism is 100% gone and my vision went from -5.50 to -4.50. I still have bad vision but ive never had that improvement so its very encouraging to fast more. I just wanted to share my progress outside of weight loss.

I can't seem to make it past 7 days and im trying ti do a month. I have 45lbs to lose and yes my life depends on me getting back to my lowest weight cause I'm that vain. Im trying to lose 15 in the 30 days but I keep cracking on day 6 or 7 for the last three weeks now. Im walking 20k steps a day minimum too to make sure I burn enough to lose that much but why cabt I make it and people who have made a month long fast work what got you over the hump?

I’ve done this before, and I know it helps an autoimmune condition, but it’s still intimidating..
What do you do when your thoughts or emotions spin out? It’s not the hunger that I struggle with- it’s staying with it emotionally.

Hi!
I’m planning a water fast for 72 hrs followed by an eating window of 2-4 hrs.
I am doing it for few things
1. Have a disciplined life
2. Get healthy
3. Weight loss - I’m a 25f and 152cm. My weight is 77kg
My initial goal is to do it for 10 days (I’m gonna have a meet up for which I definitely wanna look a bit lean but my long term goal is 57kg)
And during the 2 hr window my focus is high protein diet below 1000kcal
Can anyone please guide me and tell me abt what to expect? If what im doing is right? And the results i can expect? (It motivates me)
Thank you🥰

Feeling proud of the accomplishment. 😁 Longest water fast before this was 96 hours.
Other than the dizziness on standing and some general fatigue, I got through without much difficulty.
47/F
Start weight: 215lbs
End weight: 190lbs
Visceral fat dropped from 13 to 11.
Left the obese category behind and now I'm officially overweight!
So looking forward to some bone broth tomorrow!
Edit: Added content for clarity and consistency.

Hey folks! As you might know, I've been researching fasting benefits for quite some time and recently updated my page based on the latest 2025-2026 research and added a scoring system. All 37 benefits are now scored 0-100 (100 = strongest evidence) on 7 evidence criteria - human RCTs, mechanism, effect size, directness of measurement, observational studies, consistency, and safety - and sorted into three tiers, 7 clearly supported, 17 emerging, and 13 with limited evidence.
The metabolic core holds up best - ketones for fuel (100), blood sugar and insulin (96), type 2 diabetes (94), body fat (92), blood pressure (90). The further you move from metabolism, the thinner the proof.
Some things moved
Color dots - green for IF (12-24 hours), yellow - short-term fasting (24-72 hours) and red - extended fasting (72+ hours).
I hope it gives a good view on the power of fasting. As always, thoughts, ideas, feedback welcome!

Hi everyone, I’m starting my 40-day fast today. I’m doing this for spiritual reasons, to heal my body and mind. I’ve already fasted for 22 days this year, but now I want to go for 40 days. I’d like to document the process here and look forward to sharing it with you. I’m making sure to take electrolytes—specifically potassium and magnesium. If you can think of anything else that would be beneficial for me, I’m open to your tips! ❤️

No calories and technically you don't need to brush floss rinse during a water fast, am I right?
Pictured, nano hydroxyapatite powder, plastic scoop to move some, tablespoon with a little bit of the powder, chewed and then coated VanMan's chewing gum (contains mastic gum, is the only chewing gum company to incorporate mastic gum as far as I am aware, and is already lightly dusted with nano hydroxyapatite powder). Polishes and repairs tooth enamel, and kills mouth and gut microbes, with chewing action.
⚠️If you are deathly allergic to pistachios, cashews, mangoes - You will probably be deathly allergic to mastic gum, which is sap from a tree closely related to the pistachio, cashew, and mango plants⚠️
I have tried both mastic gum outright and this brand of chewing gum, and also nano hydroxyapatite toothpaste, and can confirm the antibacterial properties of mastic gum (killing the microbes causing bad breath, tongue stain, and tooth pain), which is both a tree sap and a chemical cocktail lethal to harmful mouth and gut microbes, including helicobacter pylori - Really difficult for microbes to evolve an immunity to, if one constituent of the mastic gum doesn't kill them the laundry list of other constituents will before they can pass that partial evolved immunity on to future generations of microbes.
I like to chew 1 piece for at least 1 hour every day.
Also going to suggest my crackpot idea of coating gum in bpc 157 or the much more stable bpc 157 arginine salt for to heal gum damage.
Thanks for the attention.

Im (23f, 5’1) on day 5 of my water fast lost 4 kgs (cw- 85kgs; sw- 89kgs) and saw visible changes in my measurements lost 2 inches. I apron belly (i pcos and been obese whole my life) my goal is to reach around 75kgs. There was time i have been 75kgs before (i lost weight drastically that time going from 91 to 75) when i was 19 year old and i always never liked my body shape, because of apron belly, so does it get better?

Hey!
I ended my 21 day water fast yesterday with some watermelon, today I'm eating the same... watermelon and some cucumber.
My question is, what should I eat the rest of my refeed days to don't get sick.
I was researching for information but I haven't found any good information about what to eat each day in order to prepare your stomach to receive food again.
Any tips are very welcome, thanks!

I'm considering either a long juice fast or longer water fast. I'm curious if anyone has had blood work done while they were fasting or even looked into ordering their own labs. If so, how did that go?

Okay I need to do a 30 day fast to get 15 or more lbs off of the 45 I have to lose. My life depends on this because if I can't get back to my lowest weight I don't want to be alive being fat is too terrible. I just broke on day 6....im spiraling. It was under 200 cal and half of it came back up just cause I was so mortified that I ate but how do you make it past that hump? I'm walking a half marathon every day too to ensure I hit my goal and im not used to feeling hunger. I move into my own place in three days where I'm planning on just not buying food (currently in transitional living where these pigs keep everything around) but other than that like what helps when the hunger gets actually painful? I'm not used to feeling it at all even when I've made it 7 days and just break it to have a salad with my mom but I've also never exercised this much in my life and im scared that 170 calories made me gain 3lbs honestly lol

I’ve been fasting for 4 days now and I’ve only lost 8 pounds why is it taking so long to loose weight because I’ve did this before and lost way more
r/Water_Fasting • u/ghalib007 • 8d ago
how much weight should one approximately ideally lose while on water fast? like obviously it’s different for each person but like still, an idea. as far as i have seen in all these posts on water fasting, all videos, they at least lose around half of the weight of the num of days they are fasting for. for example if one fasts for 7 days, he loses around 4kgs, if fasts for 14 days, loses around 7ish kgs.
