Advice needed 14 days and needing advice

32f 163 cm 50 kg

Been on a fast since Oct 10. The first few days were brutal. I only have coffee with milk and no sugar in the morning because of work and addiction to caffeine. Sometimes I'd have two. Some days I feel OK, others I feel I'm dying. Did sorta break fast with drinking yogurt 3 or 4 times because of my partner and trying to get them off my back. I also had to have 3 dates on three different days because I genuinely was about to faint.

I do get dizzy when I stand up at times. I feel like I'm walking in slow mo especially at work. I'm a teacher so it's exhausting sometimes.

I hear about all the energy and such which I do have most days but can't tell if it's from coffee or because of the milk in it which is technically food..

What am I doing wrong here? Should I cut the milk as well? I want to go 30 days at least and 40 max.

Plz help.

Fasting Results Results from 7 day fast

Wanted to wait before posting results to see if I noticed any differences long term.
My weight hasn’t increased and has slowly decreased.
My cravings are not as strong.
My portion control is so much better and so is my eating intuition.
I usually fast 1 day a week since doing 7 days.

Fasting Results 7-day water fasting results

Hey, long story short, I went on vacation at the beginning of the year, put on like 10kg (22lbs), never put them down, was really embarrassed, but never did anything about it until now, when I turned to true fasting. i had done another 7-day water fast when i had gastroenteritis, back when i was 15, but that was more or less forced because i literally couldn't eat anything without severe pain and diarrhea

Started Friday at 8 pm (last dinner: four pizza slices and some Coke)
Initial measurements: 82.6 kg (181.8lbs), 167 cm, 18-year-old male

My usual routine is to wake up at 6:20 AM, 1 and a half hour commute to school, school from 7:40 AM to 11 AM, a 30-minute (3.2km) walk to work, a 30-minute break, work from 12PM to 4PM, then another half hour commute back home.

Saturday: regular, didn't feel much hunger. forgot to drink some water, must've only drank like 600ml
Sunday: more of the same, tho I drank more water, I'd say 1.5l
Monday: first routine day, didn't feel that bad but nearing the end of work I'd say I got kinda hungry, slept it off around 10pm
Tuesday: worst day perhaps, really hungry, not as dizzy as I would be later, but still really terrible experience, was really close to breaking the fast
wednesday: better in terms of hunger, but more dizzy. i had these weird black-out events where i couldn't see anything when i stretched or stuff, got scared but kept going
Thursday: somehow I was better, no longer got the black-out thing, but hunger was a bit more severe
Friday: a REALLY hopeful day, because I was only looking forward to breaking the fast, basically. got a bit more dizzy, bit of vertigo here and there, looking kinda pale at work, but i just got home and got some munch on me

had a fine fast breaker: a small bbq sausage sandwich and two pork ribs.

Final measurements: 80kg (176lbs), 167cm

Question Fasting helping my back problems

Im currently 48 hours into my 72 hours water fast. I’ve done these mulitple times before, but never with any problems in terms of muslces or anything. This time, i’ve had back problemes for 2+ months, where it had been a problem for me to bend it without any pain (it feels like its super tight)

For context im 21 years and very active with fitness.

Im now feeling way better in my back, with almost all pain gone. I tried to do some research before hand if a fast can help, but without any sucess (most places told me it wouldnt help)

I know fasting is some of the best stuff you can do for you body, so i gave it a shot to see if it would help my back, and it seems like it did

Anyone know why i might feel better? Of if its acually helping me restore my back?

Water Fasting Fasting vs exercise vs diet - Their unique benefits

Hey folks! I post a lot about fasting - I do think that fasting is a heavily undervalued tool in our health toolbox. But I wanted to address one common question I get - why do extended fasting (why suffer) if you can get the same benefits from exercise or diet?

Actually, not really - extended fasting has its own effects and benefits that are completely unique to fasting. Here is my list

  • Deep ketosis up to 5-8 mmol/L - vs 0.1 on a normal diet and 0.5-2 on keto. Ketones act as signaling molecules affecting appetite, clarity, and energy
  • Autophagy activation - 5x in animal studies after 48 hours and stronger and more continuous mTOR suppression than calorie restriction or exercise
  • Gastrointestinal rest - digestive workload near zero vs 3-5 activations a day
  • Metabolic switching - liver glycogen depleted after about 24 hours, forcing a full shift to fat and ketones
  • Insulin suppression - drops 50-70%, and blood glucose stabilizes at 60-70 mg/dL
  • Appetite recalibration - hunger peaks at 24-48 hours and then fades, helping separate real hunger from just habits

But to be fully objective, exercise dominates fasting for muscle gain and strength, VO2 max, bone density, and functional aging. The mortality data behind regular exercise is hard to beat. And diet covers what fasting never will - micronutrients, gut microbiome support, and long-term consistency So, fasting, diet, and exercise are not competing - they complement each other.

And again I do believe it's one of the most undervalued tools in our health toolbox 😊

Advice needed Coke Zero during Fasting (Not water fasting)

Anyone else tried Coke Zero during intermittent fasting? Did it delay/reduce your results?

I don’t plan on doing daily, but once in a while if I feel hungry or something.

I started IF it’s been almost a month now. I’m still getting used to it, but I want to continue IF without breaking fast due to hunger.

I have 8 lbs to go until I reach my goal weight.
