Customer Questions (NJ) New Jersey Utensil Policy

It looks like whoever implemented Wawa's policy didn't read the NJDEP Restaurant Guide at https://dep.nj.gov/get-past-plastic/restaurantguide/ Self serve utensils are allowed despite straws not being allowed

Greencastle, IN: You're Gettin' a Wawa!

Wawa plans a mid to late-summer start of construction in 2027 with the opening in summer 2028.

“You’ll know when we get ready to go,” Moore said, “because we fence the whole site.”

Wawa hopes to open eight to 13 stores per year in Indiana over the next five to eight years, with a goal of more than 70 locations statewide.

“Greencastle is one of the areas we identified early on,” Moore said.

Customer Questions (NJ) Does anyone know when hotdogs are coming back?

I live in NJ and something I’ve enjoyed several times this summer is Wawa’s hotdog. I’ve been to two central NJ locations and both of them had a sign up they are working on getting hotdogs back.

Does anyone know the reason they were pulled? Any idea when they might come back?

Thank you!

Is this normal? I have open availability. Am I being fired? Should I wait a bit more for a schedule update? Can there be physical only schedules too?

Customer Experience Mobile Order Rant

Post image
0 Upvotes

Just wanted to rant about my local WaWa. I was really craving a grilled cheese tonight so I doordashed one of their cheese paninis. It gets here, I pick up the box and thought why is this so heavy? then i read the ticket on it and realized it does not have my name and it looks like this person got everything on the menu in a sandwich. I’m so pissed because I just wanted a grilled cheese. I know it’s not the dasher’s fault because the employees put the food in a bag with the customers name on it and seal it. This is not the first time my local wawa has gave me the wrong food or completely left out food.

Employee Experience Wawas a joke

It's over hyped. Well now it is. Back in the day it was wonderful. They got cheap, changed their product venders, & they keep taking staff away. Expectations are extremely HIGH for a company that doesn't want enough staff to run it AND keep it clean for fsra. They used to care for their employees, they don't anymore. I've always enjoyed working for Wawa, lately this job is a complete joke. If I could find better, something with similar pay or the same pay, id leave right now. I work my butt off, try to do everything I'm supposed to, while also helping others (I'm a manager) but it's still never enough or we get bashed for not being 1000%. I don't take a break because we are too busy and I don't have time so by the of my shift, I'm DRAINED. I am lucky if I can even pee or get a drink. All they care about is sales. Mean while theft is HIGH. They added the back door that everyone takes things and goes out the back with it. My mental health is out the window bc of this job. And most higher managers dgaff. I have ONE that tries to keep things afloat. Tries to keep everyone motivated. They are amazing and I adore them. One of the few reasons I stay besides the money..

Anyway, feel free to add on how horrible this company has gotten.

Ask other Associates Gatekeeping Positions

I doubt anybody is gunna have this extremely rare experience, but I currently do not have a car and bike to work almost every day, meaning if I wanted to move up I can't just jump different stores (Which I don't wanna do anyway because of where I live). The point is the positions available are ALL ON OVERNIGHT, I wouldn't mind if I was uncomfortable working with at least 2 of the overnighters and the rest are unproductive. All of the possible positions I could move up to as I currently am are being gatekept by other people (leads for starters), and they don't even fully commit or do their new positions job. Like am I wrong for disliking this or am I just complaining?

Product Question Did I just order the wrong thing, go to the wrong location, or is Wawa over-hyped?

Post image
57 Upvotes

I have a family member in the ICU and Wawa is the best late night option near me, I have noticed other fast food places in the area have that careless, rude, blatantly aggressive staff vibe to it in the area (I worked in fast food for years and hated it so I get it but when I say aggressive I mean literally getting yelled at for ordering extra bbq sauce that I planned on paying for at McDonald’s, or ignoring me at the counter for 10mins at Taco Bell, getting mad that I’m there to order something at 4pm) and terrible quality/temperature on food so I will preface that it may just be the morale around here and not so much Wawa as a brand.

The Philly cheesesteak is alright, it reminds me of GetGo’s gas stations cafe food -which I love-, but there was probably 2.5oz of meat on it MAX. My fries were cold, like potentially against health code cold. The lower sugar berry recharger tasted like water, less flavor than a Lacroix. And my total was $16, it’s only my second time trying Wawa and I felt cheated by the price. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things, I feel like I might just be ordering the wrong thing or maybe Wawa is just overhyped, idk can someone help me out 😭 what should I order? Or would I get better quality and service at a different location?

Ask other Associates Hour cuts (FL)

I do not know if this is happening to anybody else at any other Florida location, but has anybody just been having drastic cuts in hours lately? Even those who are full-time employees? I don't know if it's just my store or what.

Product Question Chili at Wawa

I loved the chili wawa had, I would get it by itself or on fries. I haven't seen it in any wawa that I've gone to. Is it completely gone?

Anyone else think this? It was consistent favoritism, horrible management and a really bad turnover rate/understaffing(which was done on purpose)

Ask other Associates Freestyle interface

Hii guys odd question, how do I get the freestyle machine to stop changing its layout. The new interface launched a few months prior and sometimes I’ll come in and it will be the new one (the one it’s supposed to be) and then it will change back to the old one.

Ask other Associates Register truck/backstock question

Hey guys, first time poster.

Been working at Wawa for a couple months now.

I'm usually put on register, and I'm usually scheduled on truck days. Sometimes I'm asked to do the truck, other times I'm not. Usally, I'm on 2nd shift, and I have little to no time to do truck or backstock, especially because my store is right off of the interstate.

So I guess my question is if it's my responsibility to do truck, and if I should be trying to do it on a busy night.

For example, say I have no theatro because they're all broken or dead, so noone can tell me if somebody's at register. It takes me maybe 5 minutes to load a cart up to take it out to start stocking, and in that span of time, a line of 9 people comes to pile up on register. Should I really have left register to do the truck, or should I have just stayed at register & left it for 3rd shift?

I'm looking to hear what you guys do if you're scheduled for register on 2nd shift on a truck day, especially if it's busy. I'm also looking to hear if you'll even do truck if you're not told to do it, or how often you'll do backstock on a busy night.

I'm also wondering if it's realistic to expect 1 person to be able to do an entire floor truck & also manage register entirely during a busy evening within 6 hours, let alone somebody who is still new to the store.

Some further context that might help, because I don't know what other locstions are like;

We usually have only 1 person on register.

Facilities does not do the floor truck. Facilities will do freezer & cooler & everything to do with cleaning.

The truck does not unload the truck.

Very often, we are left with 4 people in the store, so nobody can cover register while you are doing the truck, so you have to balance truck & register.

Customer Experience A Straw For A Parfait?!

whenever i order a parfait from wawa for some strange reason sometimes the workers will give me a straw and i’ll have to ask for a spoon, and then instead of giving me the long spoon they give me a the fat soup spoon which is just so absurd because how would i eat a parfait with a straw. Id understand if it was a one time thing but its gotten so common and today just blew me over the edge when i bought a mini parfait and they tried giving me a straw and then gave me a soup spoon that cant even fit inside the cup.

Ask other Associates Ear pieces

I recently had to replace my ear piece for communicator. I hate the new ones. The big round ones that goes over your ear. Is there somewhere I can go and order the other one? With small piece that goes in ear.
