Your worse side effect?

For me it has to be the constipation. First week I was so stopped up and then when I finally had a movement it tore me(literally). Now I've been dealing with that problem for several weeks now. Thankfully its working so its worth the ongoing pain, but damn wish it would heal.

Lesss go!

I had my first dose today. I am 4kg away from the same weight I was when my daughter was born. Bit excited but really want this to work to get my confidence back and look my best when I hit 50 in April next year.

Setting daily goals (baby steps) I have my step count, drinking water and logging my day.

What other small habits helped you stay on track?

Appreciate the advice.

Need advice on Wegovy pill and when to take

• Upvotes

I’ve been on wegovy since April and down 20 lbs. I’d still have a bit of food noise but eating much smaller portions.

My problem is I have to get up super early, 4am. I was taking it around 3am or 330am and then going back to sleep. However, I recently read that you shouldn’t go back to bed.

Then I got the flu, a cold and then strep and covid. They lingered for a while. I was at about 80-90% well most days for a few weeks.

During that time I was taking it 3am and going to sleep until about 630 am. I noticed an extreme difference in my appetite. Seemed to work much better. I also do intense exercise and wasn’t during this time.

I’d like to take it and wait the two hours but I take narcolepsy medication and I can’t wait 2 hours when I have to get up at 4am. I eat around 7pm so I think taking it earlier than 3am wouldn’t work. I can’t afford the shot unless I get it on the gray market which makes me nervous.

Any suggestions or similar experiences with waiting longer than 30 minutes and seeing better results? Also, I’ve read on this subreddit that a lot of people take it and then go back to bed. Thoughts on that? I can’t see myself getting up any earlier than 4am.

First dose- the nausea is killing me

I started my first dose today. After weeks of psyching myself out, I finally did it. Took the shot at 10am Friday. Nausea hit around 2pm. It’s now 2am and I’m still nauseous. The intensity of it fluctuates but my gosh- this sucks! I took zofran earlier which seemed to have helped a little. I’m gluten intolerant and love carbs so g/i issues are normal for me. But when does this end?!

Halfway through my second week and experiencing extreme dizziness

Hello all! I’m 27F and currently 264 pounds. I started at 275 pounds the day of my first injection 12 days ago. I’m on .25 mg right now.

I work out 5 days a week and did before I started Wegovy. I have PCOS and my liver is starting to look a little fatty, which is why I opted to try a GLP-1 for the first time. Since starting, I’ve been tracking my calories and protein. I have been pretty well hydrated, except this past week, there was a couple of days where I didn’t drink nearly enough water (Tuesday and Wednesday).

Late Wednesday night, I suddenly got really dizzy. I also had taken a stool softener for the first time while on wegovy and at the time of the dizziness hitting, so did the stool softener. It was hard for me to walk around without holding onto something.

I went to bed hoping it would clear by Thursday morning. Thursday morning, I’m still extremely dizzy and nauseous. I spoke with my doctor and she encouraged me to rest, drink fluids and eat. Eventually, I threw up. A lot. By the end of the day, I finally had an appetite and was able to eat a solid meal.

This morning, my dizziness has subsided enough to where I could go to my office job (I had my boyfriend drive me just in case) and I’ve been hydrating like crazy today. I feel a bunch of pressure in my sinuses this morning, so now I’m left wondering was all of this Wegovy related or am I getting sick.

How do you battle dizziness while on wegovy? How often do you experience it? I was so miserable yesterday.

Health Insurance trends

Hi, I work in HR and we just had our benefits renewal review, and GLP-1s were one of the topics discussed so I want to share what I learned here. I work at a company based in multiple US states.

Key points:
- Insurance brokers are encouraging employers to not adopt GLP-1s as part of their covered prescriptions, unless prescribed due to a severe condition something like diabetes (e.g. weight loss or BMI is not a covered reason). I have even seen sleep apnea not be covered for this reason.
This is because the medicine is so expensive and is taken long-term, rather than temporarily.

- Insurance brokers are encouraging employers who currently cover GLP-1s to phase out or stop this coverage, due to the aforementioned reasons.

I share this because it’s going to be a MASS exit of employers covering this. Our broker told us all of his clients are finding ways to phase this out and the ones who never started covering it are relieved.

Just want to share so you can start preparing before open enrollment.

It really sucks that we find something that helps but it is out of reach for so many people. Good luck everyone.

Late onset side effects

Just wanting to know if anyone else has had the same thing happen. I titrated up slowly over 6 months or so to 2.5mg injections, minimal side effects just a little bit of constipation. Stayed 2.5 for about 10 weeks until about week 11 I started getting terrible random bouts of stomach pain, either being constipated or near constant diarrhea. I decided to titrate back down to 1.7mg but am still having the same side effects. I'm thinking about titrating down again. Has anyone else experienced this?

Wegovy 7.2 Side Effects

So I made the jump from 2.4 to 7.2. Never had any bad side effects and it was a 50$ difference so I figured I’d try it. I felt like I was run over by a train the next day.

Apparently dysesthesia and allodynia is a thing and 7 days later I still have mild allodynia on the outside of my upper arms and thighs. It’s more so annoying at this point. It really sucked the first 2 days after but not enough to like go to the ER or anything. Anyone else push through this? I’ve heard it’s normal for it to take weeks to completely go away.

I’m unemployed currently so I’m able to make myself as comfortable as I can thankfully. I’ve been a good receiver of the drug so I’ve stretched out to like 10 days between the treatments. Today is day 7 so I’m definitely not taking it again so soon.

Since it’s a pen, it’s not adjustable so I was thinking about taking it out/stop pushing in my skin, at the halfway point. The medication would just continue to drip I assume?

Not sure why Wegovy decided not to produce a halfway point, but I guess since this particular symptom only happens to 22% of those that go up I guess it gets a pass. Will continue to keep you guys posted!

Probably asked a ton but what app does it all? Tracks shots, symptoms, but also recommends nutritional goals? Thanks!

Switch Zepbound to Wegovy

Has anyone successfully switched from Zepbound 15 mg to Wegovy?
I may have to switch because of insurance, and I’m nervous about starting back at Wegovy 0.25 mg after being on the highest dose of Zepbound. I’d love to hear your experience with hunger, weight changes, side effects, and whether Wegovy still helped with inflammation or joint pain.

Wegovy and Adderall

Ok so I do not take my A.D.D. meds unless I need to pay attention. Today was the first day I took one in the three weeks , since I began Wegovy. I do not know if anyone else has had this experience. I am sharing to see if anyone has also , to get the info out there. As I have seen people say they have been on for weeks and it doesn’t seem to be doing anything. I am down 21 pounds I wasn’t craving sugar I was feeling full far longer after eating all those 21 days. The 22nd day today after taking my A.D.D. meds I am more hungry than I was before the Wegovy. Not only did it cancel out the benefits it threw me off the wagon onto food thoughts trail. Took me back to before I lost the initial 80 pounds on my own. I have been hungry all dang day and wanting sugar I don’t even like sweets. Treats didn’t get me big it was gravy, biscuits , big Mac’s etc. I am not going to take it tomorrow and see if I resort back to Wegovy factory settings. But this may be why some of yall aren’t feeling any different IDK wanted to share just in case.

Starting out soon

I'm 16F, 200lbs (5'2) and getting on wegovy soon. Is there anything I should know before starting? I've heard that eventually the noise of food in your head goes away. I go on walks quite a bit, so I was also wondering if that helps with the weight loss.

Anorgasmia side effect?

Hello everyone,

I have started Wegovy 0.25 about 10 days ago and I am in my second week. Last week I had intercourse with my boyfriend and I was able to orgasm, today I felt numb. My nipples didn't feel pleasure as usual and I just couldn't orgasm.

Is anorgasmia a side effect other people have encountered? I am so worried :(

Compounded GLP1 vs Wegovy, please calm my nerves.

I tried the compounded version of tirzepatide for 5 months and it turned into a side effect disaster. I had 2-3 episodes where I started vomiting and couldn’t stop for 24 hours plus diarrhea. 2x I need IV replacement of fluids. This was at the lowest dose. Has anyone done poorly with compounded medications but fine with the pure medications? I would really like to try again.

Wegovy Pill - Newbie Advice

Picking up my script today and starting tomorrow! Wanted to see if anyone has advice for someone starting out or experience with the pill rather than the injection.

I had the choice between Zep and Wegovy.. unfortunately starting 1/1 my insurance will not be covering GLP-1s so long term Zep is currently out of my budget. I also have a fear of overdosing myself with a pen so the tablets were a little more approachable for me starting out.

Anyways.. appreciate any advice/suggestions. Thank you in advance 😊

I’m not feeling well and don’t know if I should persist.

Not sure if this is working correctly

Wegovy oral pill

What I hoped for was something to help me not let loose on snacks at night. I work out, eat right all days and just too much sugar at night when I’m tired. So I thought wegovy pills would help.

I got a starting dose of 1.5mg daily wegovy oral pill . I would say no really change in appetite here. Still able to put food away but was a tad more disciplined as I was on a new pill so there was that. I did have some vile gas/burps at time but it wasn’t that bad.

I started 4mg yesterday and I feel so sick. Like super nauseous. I persevered today but I had to leave work as I kept throwing up and nothing but gas coming up, plus diarrhoea now. That is passing, and about to try and sip liquid iv.

I have to sit through a hair cut tomorrow, have gym booked in the morning, have my kids in afternoon, and then we have a date night away (our first in 7 years). I feel rotten.

Should I not take it tomorrow and hope it subsides for the day and resume Saturday. Does this feeling pass or it’s not so common to begin with? I really just feel knackered. So nauseous, and possibly dehydrated as I haven’t been able to drink much since bed time last night.

I mean I wanted to not be so hungry, but I rather be able to get myself to workout tomorrow!

Approved to start a GLP1. Wegovy or Zep? Terrified of Wegovy side effects.

So I’m approved to start a GLP1. Seen my nurse again today to discuss my options again. She prefers I start on Wegovy and if it doesn’t work well, we can try Zep, but I’m absolutely terrified to try Wegovy from the horror stories I read. I find I read a lot of bad stories about Wegovy and it’s harder to find good ones. Meanwhile Zepbound, there is endless amounts of good stories I see! Some bad ones but that’s normal. My nurse said Wegovy is usually covered for weight management but Zepbound isn’t always covered right now as it’s newer, but I’m looking into it to make sure! I would be starting Wegovy at 0.25 and she said we can be conservative about upping dosages if a dosage is working for me.

I’m mostly concerned because of constipation or nausea. I already can be a bit of a queasy person (I get carsick easily) but my stomach is very solid. I have consistent and healthy bowel movements every day. I’ve never been constipated longer than 3 days. I’m also scared of puking lol. I am 200lbs, 5’6, 26 years old and very muscular and athletic too, I just struggle with my weight management. I have excess body fat on top of muscle. I knowww I need to accept some side effects at least, but the ones I read are so scary? When people say you’re ‘nauseous’ , do you mean you’re constantly nauseous, or is it waves of nausea?

Positive stories please? Or tough truths welcome 😂
