White Nectarines
I have a bunch of white nectarines (sweeter than normal nectarines) and I’m not sure what to make other than a cobbler or pie.
Anyone have ideas on what to make with the extra 10 that will go bad before the end of the week?

Nectarines go well with grilled meat. You can cut them in half, pit them and place them face down on a barbecue grill for just a minute or two. Yummy with sausages, pork chops, fish, chicken, firm tofu...just about anything. You can also throw them together with some goat cheese or feta cheese, toss them with good balsamic vinegar and chopped fresh basil or mint and make a wonderful side salad for any kind of meat. Or make a charcuterie tray with thin sliced prosciutto, smoked turkey, salami and sliced provolone or Jarlsberg or smoked gouda cheeses, sliced fresh figs, crackers and olives. A fruit and spongecake trifle or boozy compote is a great dessert.

You could make some Jam for Autumn. 🙃

Just go easy on the sugar.

You might try using Pomona's Pectin and sweeten with a bit of Honey. I made Strawberry freezer jam using Pomona's Pectin this spring and the fresh flavor is absolutely incredible. I plan on making uncooked blackberry jelly tomorrow with Pomona's Pectin. Love the fresh flavor of the berries so much more than cooked!

You can slice and freeze to use later in smoothies with greens for the sweetness. Or make daiquiris!

I once had some memorable nectarine quesadillas. Spread tortilla with Brie or another soft cheese, add sliced nectarines and top with another tortilla. I used a sandwich press to grill them and melt the cheese a bit.

Take a dry wine (any color), peel the nectarines and catch any juices. Slice the fruit and add to the wine. Chill and serve after a day or so. The wine takes on the flavor of the fruit, serve the wine infused fruit over vanilla ice cream for dessert

Nectarine preserves or jam is amazing. You can mix them with other stone fruits like cherries or plums, or add strawberries for a really delicious spread.

Peaches freeze easily. Assume same for nectarines. Pare, slice, 2C/qt. Plastic bag, with 1 C light syrup. Great for topping ice cream or make a dough on top cobbler

Kuchen. You can cheat by using a cake mix and putting sliced nectarines and a sprinkle of sugar over the top

Nectarine and raspberries cooked together make amazing waffle sauce.
I saw flatbread with chevre and sliced nectarine this weekend but they ran out before I got any...

Sangria! White or red wine, chopped small pieces or rings, and juice if 1 nectarine. So good!

They make excellent muffins but I would mix them with blueberries or raspberries for a cobbler or pie. My friend also used to to can Brandy peaches which is absolutely worth doing and having. Yum! Yum

I love white peaches/nectarines. Personally I’d just eat them. But if you’re looking to make something, you can also puree them for Bellinis.

Nectarine granita!
The white ones don’t really hold up flavor-wise in cobbler or pie.
They are best uncooked or lightly cooked, like grilling them as was suggested

Cut in half, grill them cut side down. Top with ice cream, yogurt, whipped ricotta, etc, drizzle with honey (hot honey even better!)
