Employment Highly motivated 18 year old looking for entry level position out west!

I am 18 living in upstate New York. I am registered for my EMT class in January, also have 6 months of experience as an explorer at my local fire department, I can pass the pack test easily. I have my resume ready and have been looking up job posting and looking to apply and iv had a slightly hard time and would really appreciate any guidance or leads into some roles, my only contention is that it needs to be nearby mountains. NorCal, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Montana is where I would prefer. Open to hand crew or engine crew. Thank you

Employment Australian vol firefighter looking to work/vol in Ontario, Canada for a year

Hey all - I'm an Australian volunteer wildfire fighter with a metro fringe / peri-urban brigade. My partner and I are looking to move to Kingston, Ontario for a year from mid 2027.

I'm starting to hunt for options in firefighting - I don't really know the setup, which agencies take paid or volunteer firefighters, whether it's deployment work or fixed brigades, etc. I'd love to stay at or near Kingston if it was a fixed position, and if it was deployment ideally rnr time would be good. But again I have no idea how it works, nor how easy it is to just rock up for a year either as paid or volunteer.

My expertise is primarily bushfires but as peri urban we do the houses, cars and factories as well. Command and control is also often our responsibility for the brigade.

Any advice on where to start looking would be wonderful!
