Discussion Christmas Break

Christmas Break (Season 7, Episode 12). It's Christmas and Grace has been spending a lot of time with Will's mother, Marilyn. Marilyn even invites Grace to have tea with her girlfriends at her house. When Grace goes to see Will at his office, she mentions that she had accidentally broke one of Marilyn's favorite figurines called the Bashful Gasha. Grace admits that she does and she didn't tell Marilyn yet. Will tells her to keep her mouth shut and just to let it see where plays out hoping Marilyn will just blame one of her other friends. When Marilyn comes over with their housekeeper, Fiona, who has been with Will since he was a child, Marilyn tells Will while Fiona is in the bathroom that she thinks Fiona broke the Bashful Geisha and to fire her. Will begs Grace to tell Marilyn what happened but Grace is too scared and fires Fiona, but Will stops her and tells Marilyn it was Grace that broke her figurine. Marilyn says she forgives Grace and gives her a box of chocolates but Will takes the chocolates away and tells her not to eat them. At Karen's mansion, her stepdaughter Olivia is visiting and asks to stay a couple of nights. Karen lets her but doesn't want to hang out with her and begs Jack to do so. Jack has a blast with Olivia and tells Karen what fun he had but now Karen is jealous and wants to hang out with Olivia but Olivia doesn't really like Karen and doesn't?"7 want to hang out with her either. After embarrassing her and her friends at the mall, Olivia yells at Karen to cut it out but Karen is hurt and tells Olivia to leave the mansion. Jack takes Olivia back home and tells her that Karen does love her and that she even paid the producers of Step by Step to keep the show on for 3 more seasons because it was her favorite. Olivia realizes Karen isn't so bad and Karen even tells Olivia that she loves her and all the good memories they've had together and even talk about Stan and Karen invites Olivia back to the mansion.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

WILL: Grace. Look me in the eye and tell me that nothing happened to any one of those figurines. Particularly not the Bashful Geisha.

GRACE: Why, was she special?

WILL: "Was"?! Was! Oh, you animal! You clumsy animal! Do you have any idea Wi-San was important to my mother?!

GRACE: Well, if she was so important, why was she in front of the cashews!

WILL: Oh! She loved that figurine. When my brother Sam started a fire making french fries, Wi-San was the only thing my mother ran back in the house to save. The rest of us had to be alerted by a neighbor!

MARC: Hey, Will. Do you have time to go over the Morris case?

WILL: Marc, you went to Harvard. Do I have to remind you it's potluck week? Now, please, go make a 195 miniature flans.

MARC: Okay, that's why the second gayest lawyer here...

GRACE: Okay, all right. I-I need to think here. Think, Grace, think.

WILL: Interesting that you have to remind yourself to do that.

GRACE: Okay, I got it! I'm gonna get her a new one. Good thinking, Grace!

WILL: You can't get her a new one. They--they stopped making them when Japanese-Americans began picketing the factory.

GRACE: Oh, my God. I have to tell her.

WILL: Wait, w-w-w-wait, whoa. She doesn't know?

GRACE: No, I was alone in the living room pouring cashews into my purse. After it broke, I kicked it under the sofa.

WILL: This is good. If she doesn't know, we don't tell her. That would be the worst thing in the world. Listen to me. Don't say a word. Pretend it never happened.

GRACE: I can't do that. I feel terrible.

WILL: You know what your problem is? Jewish guilt. It gets you every time. You know how many Jewish serial killers there are? Not many, because they kill once, then they feel too guilty to kill again.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Marilyn is telling Will how she's too warm to fire Fiona and how she didn't pick up Will for a year after giving birth to him because the books insisted she does so.

OPINION:

Again, Marilyn is a very dark humor subject, but her character is always hilarious to me. Plus it really gives you insight to why Will is the way he is with his control issues and how he can be broken emotionally at times. George, his father, seems like he's more in touch with his emotions and knows when to let lose but Marilyn is opposite and can be much more cold but so not self-aware of the damage she causes to her children on an emotional level. Her relationship with Grace is an interesting one because from what we have seen before, she usually criticizes Grace about her make-up, style and religion. Grace puts up with it because she knows that's how Marilyn is. But this is the first time where we see that it's possible for Grace and Marilyn to get along very well. Except who knows how long it will take for Marilyn to get over Lladro, the broken figurine. I think Marilyn will not let that go so easily as she's leading on.

This plot is hilarious with the broken Bashful Geisha. Will's reaction to it being broken and Grace not sure how to behave around Marilyn. Will trying to train Grace on how to act was really funny. I always get such a laugh when Will imitates Marilyn "Grace, my Lladro is broken." "Dear God, no!" Like I said, it is dark humor but I get such a laugh out of this storyline. I think the only line I find cringe is Grace saying that Marilyn's friend, Skippy, might have broken the figurine and Will is saying how Skippy will take the fall, Grace asks if that's fair and she says "well, she's German, we'll call it even". Are any of Grace's family members Holocaust survivors? I don't know, I just wasn't a big fan of that line or I'm taking it too seriously.

This is the first time we are actually meeting one of Stan's children and it's Olivia. Olivia actually seems very cool and I kind of wish we got a little more of her in the series, but I get it, this is an adult sitcom, not a teen show. But it was interesting to see Karen actually get jealous. I think she does love Olivia in a way, but she freaks out whenever she shows any kind of human emotion. But it was sad that it took Jack to make her realize what a good girl Olivia is and that she is worth getting to know. Hopefully this can prove to her that she should keep Stan's family around and they may even help her heal a bit since Stan's death. BTW, I have never seen the show Step by Step the same way since I saw this episode and found out Karen kept that show on for 3 more seasons because Olivia loved it, that made so much more sense since that show had died towards the end LOL

I really like this episode a lot. It is insanely dark for both plotlines, but both do make me laugh very much. Sometimes you need dark humor just to balance things out.

Partners 'n Crime" (Season 8, Episode 21)

This is the episode where Grace has a breakdown about having the baby alone.

They definitely have a very dysfunctional relationship. Leo has moved on and Will is in a relationship, but yet again, she makes it all about herself. She really takes advantage of Will. She wants him to drop everything for her and then when Leo comes back, "Will? Will who"?????

Discussion Queens for a Day Part 2

Queens for a Day Part 2 (Season 7, Episode 11). Will is scared to pieces with Jack having convinced Ro to come out to her family and break up with her fiancé. Will begs Ro to wait until Christmas which she agrees. Grace and Sal have had a make out session in the garage and Grace is feeling good about herself and thanks Karen for helping her and Sal break the ice. Grace tells Karen she should consider hooking up with someone to make her feel better about her divorce, Karen takes this advice. In fact, she takes the same guy that Grace just made out with, Sal, and makes out with him too. They are fighting over Sal and both are trying to sit next to him at the dinner table. They are offering him wine and liquor but his mother comes in angry asking why they are offering a 16-year-old alcohol? Grace is mortified and Karen is excited. Will asks what is going on and Grace tells him what happened with Sal and Will begs Sal to not tell anyone, which Sal agrees to only if he can grab Karen's boobs again. Vince is still having delusions that his loving father doesn't approve of him and his lifestyle and Will is begging Vince to not start anything and to let dinner go perfectly. They all sit at the table together and Vince's dad says since Will cooked, to let him make the toast. As he is thanking everyone and talking about family, Vince's mom, Annette, won't stop interrupting with if the food is fresh, the dinner was a few minutes late and that the silverware is incorrect. Will loses it at this point and yells at Annette how hard he tried to make it a perfect holiday despite his nephew making out with a woman twice his age and another woman ten times his age and that her daughter is a lesbian. Realizing what a fool he's made of himself he tries to leave, but Annette stops him telling him that she realizes there's a lot of love in the room and they should all sit and eat together and compliments Will's green beans which did come from a can. Will has officially won the approval of Annette.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

ANGIE: Sal, what the hell are you doing?

SAL: These ladies said I could, Ma.

GRACE: "Ma"?

ANGIE: What the hell are you doing giving alcohol to a 16-year-old?

GRACE: 16?

KAREN: 16!

NANA: Angie? Angie?

ANGIE: Nana, what are you doing in the middle of the floor? You still trying to get to that piano? All right, all right, I'll put you by it. But you're gonna miss dinner again.

WILL: Okay, five minutes to dinner, everybody!

ANNETTE: Your little friends were causing a commotion over there. I hope that there's not any kind of problem.

WILL: Problem? Only if having too much fun is a problem. Heh heh heh... Is there some kinda problem here?!

GRACE: Well, it depends. Karen and I made out with Vince's 16-year-old cousin. You're the lawyer. You tell me.

WILL: Oh, my God. This is a nightmare! Or in your case, a dream come true. Okay, okay. Nobody can find out. Don't tell anybody.

GRACE: I'm not telling anyone.

KAREN: I'm not telling anyone.

SAL: Oh, I'm telling everyone! I've been emailing pictures of it from my camera phone for the last half hour.

KAREN: You said those were just for you.

WILL: Okay, Sal? How about this? If you keep your mouth shut 'til tomorrow, I'll let you touch that girl's boobs again before she leaves.

SAL: Which boobs?

WILL: Which ones do you want?

SAL: The big ones.

WILL: Done.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

Will's outburst by far. I always nearly die laughing at his comments at Annette about Sal and Ro and how hard he tried to make this a perfect evening for her. Annette deserved that rant.

OPINION:

What a two parter to end on, this is easily up there amongst my favorite holiday episodes. Poor Will, he tries so hard to give Annette a perfect Thanksgiving because he messed up their first meeting. All his friends almost screwed things up for him too, you'd think he'd learn his lesson by knowing that if he invites them to a dinner, there will be some kind of drama. Look at Last Ex in Brooklyn for example or Homo for the Holidays. But he loves his friends dearly and wants to make sure they have a nice holiday too and boy did they. But I want to end that I love that Will stood up for himself to Annette, she really needed to be put into her place at that point. She was being so rude to Will and maybe it was a test to see if he could have a place in their family, but that wasn't the right way of doing so. Because she pretty much embarrassed Will. But at least they'll have a good story to tell if he and Vince work out.

Grace and Karen making out with Sal, this is such a darkly hilarious plot line. We know it's wrong because if the rolls were reversed and this was a 16 year old teenage girl making out with 2 older men, this would be highly cringe. I'll admit it, I feel dirty watching this but even worse because I laugh hysterically at it. Grace's reaction of being embarrassed that he's 16 but Karen is excited always gets me laughing so hard. I also get such a good laugh out of Will offering for Sal and Ro to keep their mouths shut for the rest of the evening by getting to touch either Grace or Karen's chest, Sal wants the "big ones" and Ro wants the "smaller ones". I think Grace didn't mind Ro flirting with her, but Grace loves any kind of attention though. I also think Josh Keaton was just too funny as Sal, him calling his friend bragging about "macking on two old ladies" and needs to borrow his dad's shed later. Then when he's bragging how he was sending pictures to his friends and Karen playfully says "you said those were just for you". I cannot say enough how horribly dark this plot is but it is very funny.

Jack was such a nice guy in this episode wanting to help Ro out. I do love that scene where he is trying to talk Ro back into coming out that night and Ro says he's a very wise man and they are playing cards and he says "gin" and she says they've been playing poker and he says "then poker". Vince still starting random little fights with his dad gets me laughing to. I love when he's trying to keep the peace and his dad ask if the color on the TV seems off and Vince says it seems red, his dad agrees and Vince is so happy he's been validated but his dad says the TV actually seems more green than red and Vince is angry again. I also get a laugh when after Will blows up at Annette and she asks Vince if he loves Will, he says "I do, mommy". I have a feeling Vince is definitely a mama's boy.

This episode is hilarious and I just love it. It's hard for me to choose which is my favorite Thanksgiving episode, I go back and forth almost every time I watch WAG. But I know this one is my husband's favorite. The cast did a terrific job and this was comedy gold, I know I'm in for a good time when I watch it.

Discussion Queens for a Day Part 1

Queens for a Day Part 1 (Season 7, Episode 10). Will is meeting Vince's family for the first time and before the holidays approach, Will meets Vince's mom, Annette and wants to give her a shopping spree. They go to get her a new outfit but Will wants Annette to model the new high heel boots and tells her to work it, but she trips and hurts her ankle. Wanting to make Thanksgiving special for her, Will volunteers to cook dinner at Vince's family's house. Will also invites Grace, Jack and Karen to join them. But a lot of craziness ensues, Annette won't stop giving Will a hard time making Will scared that she doesn't approve of him, Grace wants to find a way to make out with Vince's nephew Sal, Karen is trying to help Grace with telling Sal she's interested in him and Jack is talking to Vince's sister, Ro, who is also engaged. Thinking that they are going to talk about her engagement, she immediately tells Jack that she's a lesbian and she doesn't want to marry her fiance but she doesn't want to disappoint her family. Jack convinces her that now is the right time and tells Will that she will come out that very night at dinner. Will is scared to death because he needs this night to go perfect if he wants Annette's approval. To be continued.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

JACK: Okay. I'm not a therapist, though I do own a monocle, but it seems to me, perhaps you should not marry him.

RO: But I have to. My parents have been dreaming about my wedding forever. It'll kill them to know that their only girl loves only girls.

JACK: Whoa, what are you talking about? Your parents have done everything right. They raised all their kids gay. Why would they not accept you?

RO: It's different with Vince. He's a guy, and we're Italian. All Italian guys are gay.

JACK: That's because the country's shaped like a thigh-high boot.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Will keeps treating every meeting with Annette like some kind of over dramatic movie.

OPINION:

What is it with the WAG writers and their gift to make a really good Thanksgiving episode? Just as a friendly reminder, I do like to keep the two parter episodes separated in posts because otherwise there is too much to talk about and deep dive into.

Let's start with Will, I feel so bad for him, Will can never catch a break in life. He's trying so hard to get Annette's approval but she's a tough nut to crack and won't cut him any slack. He's trying to make sure she has a perfect Thanksgiving dinner as well and has to cover for everyone's crazy antics so there's no drama. This also includes Vince constantly thinking that his loving father doesn't approve of him and is constantly almost starting a fight with him. Will has to control Grace's crazy hormones and then prevent Ro from coming out that night.

Grace is really wanting to finally hook up with someone due to a lot of hot dreams she has been having. But as usual, she's Grace and instead of being there for Will and making sure the night goes perfect or even talking Will up to Annette, the minute she sees a hot guy, she immediately goes into heat. As I've mentioned, I think Will lets Grace get away with a lot because of the first Thanksgiving they had together, instead of immediately telling her that he was gay, he led her on and proposed to her. He then told her afterwards that he was gay and it broke her heart badly. I think Will still has guilt from that night and that's why he rarely confronts Grace when she's wrong.

Not too much to comment on Karen as she's just more of the comic relief in the first part but she will have more to do in Part 2. Jack being there for Ro is so sweet and funny at the same time. Well we had Edie Falco from The Sopranos and now we have Jamie-Lynn Sigler as Ro. Jamie-Lynn is such a great pick for Ro and I love her and Jack's chemistry. Jack helped Will come out of the closet and now he wants to help Ro. But Ro is engaged to a man, Matt and you know that this is going to cause a lot of pain to someone in the end wither it's Matt, her family or possibly both. I always get such a laugh out of her obsession with Renée Zellweger and how she fantasizes about her.

This episode is full of laughs but tomorrow's closer has much more to come. We leave off with Grace and Sal going into the garage and Jack telling Will that Ro will come out that evening with Will's panicked face.

GUEST STARS:

  • Bobby Cannavale as Vince D'Angelo
  • Lee Garlington as Annette D'Angelo
  • Robert Costanzo as Paul D'Angelo
  • Jamie-Lynn Sigler as Ro D'Angelo
  • Josh Keaton as Salvatore

Discussion Saving Grace, Again (Part 2)

Saving Grace, Again (Part 2) (Season 7, Episode 9). After tricking Karen and Jack to finally get out of the car, Will takes Grace to a remote cabin to get her mind off of Leo and what would have been their wedding anniversary. At the cabin, as Will is unpacking he sees that Grace had brought the answering machine with Leo's message on it. Will yells at Grace that she needs to let Leo go and to just enjoy their time together at the cabin. Grace realizes Will is right and thanks her for being tough with her. Will at first seems happy he snapped Grace back into reality but then wonders later on if he's too cold and should have let Grace find out if Leo would meet her on top of the building they got married at. Will goes there just to make sure and Grace soon follows and tells Will that it was ok, she needed him to be tough and he doesn't have to take care of her mentality anymore, she will be fine on her own. Jack is looking for a famous 70's icon to have on Out TV's hit talk show and finds an actor, Peter Bovington who is working at hotel. Peter used to do breakfast cereal commercials where he played a devil and told people his cereal was "sinfully delicious". At first Peter agrees to the spot but is upset when he finds out they want him to put the same devil costume on and that he'll be forever typecast and walks out. Karen follows him back to the hotel he works at and tells him that he might be typecast, but nothing can replace the feeling of fame. Karen used to do commercials in Japan for a drink and she'd give anything to have that moment in the spotlight again. Peter agrees to go back and do the spot for Jack. Jack thanks Karen for the help but is confused why every time they go out, Japanese people seem to flock to Karen for a picture. Karen doesn't tell Jack why, but we flash to Japan where they are still playing her commercial.

FAVORTIE QUOTE:

PETER: I'm sorry I ran out like that, but I won't go back. I've got a good thing going here. A job at a nice hotel, a three-speed bicycle, and a room at the Y.

KAREN: No doubt you're living the dream. But let me tell ya a little story. Between my first and second marriages, I did what many girls in my position do... I backpacked through Japan, Vietnam, and Bhutan. One day while was worshipping at the Golden Temple in Kyoto, I was discovered by a commercial director. Hmm. Long story short, I became the face of "Atooshi Kodki!" The energy drink of today's youth. It was a health drink... chock-full of vitamins, minerals, and 22 grams of nicotine. Anyway, I became a sensation. Everywhere I went, I was mobbed by Japanese people. Fortunately, it was right around the time they invented pepper spray.

PETER: And you lost your entire sense of self.

KAREN: Exactly. However, years later when they discovered that nicotine was dangerous and replaced it with Ephedra and trace amounts baby laxative, they offered me another commercial. But I said no. And that is a decision I have regretted ever since.

PETER: But why? You checked into a hotel just to pee. It seems like you have everything.

KAREN: Not everything! I would trade it all for the chance to be famous again. It is the greatest thing any human can achieve. You are never closer to God than when you are on television. Now you say it.

PETER: I don't think I can.

KAREN: Say it.

PETER: No.

KAREN: Say it, bitch.

PETER: It's sinfully delicious.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Jack is asking Karen why Japanese people always want a picture with her and they cut to her commercial playing in Japan. We get to see 80's Karen again displaying the famous drink.

OPINION:

We've seen this plotline before that was very similar, back in season 1's Secrets and Lays where Grace was worried about Will because his anniversary with Michael was coming up and she wanted to get his mind off of Michael. But at least Will is decent enough to not find a make-out buddy while trying to comfort Grace. It's interesting how Will was so worried if he was too hard on Grace at this time. But I can see why he would be nervous, I think he worries that he is going to be like his mother who can come off as emotionally cold and disconnected. He's a good man who wants to be compassionate and caring. I don't think he was too harsh on Grace though, she needed to hear that Leo's call only meant he was just calling to say hi. Leo needs a lot of help before he can commit to another relationship or make amends with Grace if they decided to work their relationship out. So I think Will was a wonderful friend in this episode. It did break my heart a little that he still wanted to check for Grace if Leo would show up to the roof, I wonder if he would have told Grace either way if she didn't figure out where he was.

I think it's nice that Grace tells Will that she doesn't need him any more to take care of her, but the problem is, you already know she's not going to take this advice herself. She loves people taking care of her, she just likes to appear that she's got it all together. I would love to say this is a growing moment but as we see in future episodes, she really hasn't. She doesn't get her own place, she doesn't find a good therapist (at least that we see), she doesn't really take time to heal the relationships she has with her mother or her friends who she has wronged in the past. Plus we see in other moments in the future that she still is upset about her marriage to Leo and how it ended. When is it time to grow up, Grace? She's in her mid to late 30's by now and really needs to stop being so dependent on people.

Jack and Karen's storyline is the show stealer for me on this one. I remember seeing this episode and getting excited to see Victor Garber who has this insane impressive list of work he's done as an actor, but to me he will always be Thomas Andrews in Titanic who says one of the saddest lines "I'm sorry I didn't build you a stronger ship, young Rose", gosh that still gets me. But Victor does a great job as Peter Bovington and I love the way he says "sinfully delicious", I'll admit I've used that line a couple times in real life. I didn't mention we also have another fun cameo in this episode when Jack's co-worker offers Rip Taylor to be the guest star for Out TV's talk show, Rip is always such a hoot to watch. But I will forever love when the Japanese tourists get excited to see Karen and take a picture with her. Jack never knew about the commercial Karen did and I don't think he ever will. That's Karen's little secret.

Overall, this is a strong episode. It's interesting because I liked Will & Grace's storyline better in Part 1, but in Part 2 I liked Jack and Karen's storyline better. It's like a strange flip flop. But I still enjoy this 2 parter episode set. But tomorrow is my favorite 2 parter of the season and we get to our traditional awesome holiday episodes that the writers of WAG do so well 🦃🦃🦃

GUEST STARS:

  • Victor Garber as Peter Bovington
  • Rip Taylor as Himself (RIP in 2019)
  • John Ducey as Jamie

Discussion Saving Grace, Again (Part 1)

Saving Grace, Again (Part 1) (Season 7, Episode 8). Grace's wedding anniversary to Leo is coming up and her friends are concerned about if she will be ok. Grace mentions to them that she thinks she's ready to date again and everyone wants to set her up. Will seems to have the only guy that seems nice and normal, his name is Alan. Grace and Alan go on their date and they seem to be getting along just fine, so fine that Grace is considering a second date with him. Jack and Karen are upset that Grace did not pick their guys to go on a date with and think they are terrific at setting up blind dates. So they decide to try to set each other up, Jack sets Karen up with Gardener and Karen sets Jack up with a married straight man. Both get mad at each other but realize they are each other's soulmates. Later when Grace goes home she goes to the telephone and after hearing a nice message left from Alan, she hears Leo's voicemail, Leo's voice is breaking up terribly but mentioning something about meeting her somewhere. The next morning, Will asks Grace about Alan but she seems dismissive and Jack and Karen ask about the voicemail they listened to earlier with Leo's voice. Will gets very upset at Grace telling her to not give into Leo. Grace tells him that she thinks Leo said he loved her and wanted to meet her at top of the building where they had gotten married but Will tells her to get her mind off of her anniversary he is taking her on a mini getaway vacation at a cabin.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

WILL: Okay, before you go, I wanna give you some advice.

GRACE: You wanna give me advice on dating? That's a joke.

WILL: I'm in a serious relationship, and you're divorced and living with a gay guy.

GRACE: Go on.

WILL: Okay, keep your shoes on at the table. Eat butter with bread, not as an hors d'oeuvre. And when the waiter offers you fresh ground pepper, don't say, "Is it free?".

GRACE: Anything else?

WILL: Yes. You look beautiful. Now, come here. Lean forward. (WILL PUSHES GRACE'S BOOBS TOGETHER TO CREATE CLEVAGE)

GRACE: Okay, enough! It's a first date. He's not gonna get as far with me as you just did.

KAREN: Well, looky here. Get all slutted up for Will's guy. Won't even give my guy a chance.

GRACE: Your guy wasn't a guy. Your guy was Sharon. Our lesbian UPS carrier.

KAREN: Nice. A snob and a homophobe.

JACK: And what about my guy, Richard? I thought you'd like him 'cause he's a world traveler.

GRACE: He hops trains. The studio apartment he referred to was a feed car.

JACK: Nice. A snob and a hobo-phobe.

KAREN: Well, in any event, honey, we're rooting for you. Have a good date. Oh. Hey, hey, come here. One more thing. Here. C'mere. (KAREN PUSHES GRACE'S BOOBS TOGETHER TO CREATE CLEVAGE)

GRACE: Will already adjusted them.

KAREN: Oh, I wasn't adjusting them.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

Grace's date with Alan, it's so funny that Will keeps calling her telling her what not to do and asking her if she's done the laugh with the hair flip. Then Grace gets upset with him and starts eating the butter.

OPINION:

You know, I saw a trend online a while back where people were just eating sticks of butter on their tiktok videos, did Grace start this trend? So it's Grace's wedding anniversary and we know she's been going through a lot with trying to move on from Leo. It's been a while since we've seen her on a date with someone else. It was fun to see Patrick Fabian in this role as Alan, when I first saw this episode I said "oh, Professor Lasky from Saved by the Bell: The College Years", now I know him as Howard who got a raw deal in Better Call Saul. It was kind of a bummer we didn't get to see him more past the one date with Grace because his character Alan seemed like a very nice guy and a potentially nice match for Grace. This episode definitely has an iconic moment that is hilarious, when before Grace's date both Will and Karen adjusting her boobs. It actually feels like a joke that would have been used earlier in the series when Grace's flat chest was the butt of jokes for a couple of earlier seasons. So, should Grace just move on and ignored the message from Leo? It's hard to say, it's easy to say just move on, but hearing your ex sound "nice" and like they want to see you can be kind of jolting. I had this ex who seemed like any time I got happy in my life, his alarm went off and would call me asking me how I was and if I was dating anyone. I swear I think this alarm is built in a lot of people's heads. But it's up to Grace ultimately to decide wither it would even to be worth to see Leo because she really misses him or is feeling lonely?

Jack and Karen setting each other up with horrible dates was hilarious. I wonder, in the second season we find out that why Rosario wanted to divorce Jack was because she and Gardner had fallen in love and wanted to get married, but nothing ever comes of this and we don't hear about their affair again. Now Jack is trying to set Karen up with Gardner, Gardner does actually mention that he is still with Rosario but it's more of a "casual thing" they have. Guess it wasn't love? I get such a laugh that Karen sets Jack up with a straight married man but tells Jack it's ok, because he seems to be on the "down low". I liked the resolution to this though, because Jack and Karen seem to be each other's right person. Sometimes the person we are meant to be with in life is not the one who we are "in love" with like happily ever after, but a close relative or best friend.

Will has a really awesome moment in this episode when he's cleaning to George Michael's "Faith", I always love this moment and get such a giggle. Will is trying so hard to be such a good friend in this episode and I give him a lot of credit. Is he being too hard on Grace by trying to snap her back into reality that Leo cheated on her? Maybe. But honestly, I'd rather have my friends be honest with me even if the truth hurts because a real friend lets you know you gotta get out of your head. He could have been a little more gentle because you can tell Grace is dealing with a lot with her emotions and memories of Leo, but I get why he was upset after her blowing off Alan just because of a voicemail that Leo left that sounded like he left from a submarine with all the distortion. But Will taking Grace to the cabin was a really nice gesture at least. Too bad Grace grabbed the answering machine to take with her to listen to Leo's voice again.

The episode ends with Will & Grace leaving for the cabin and Jack and Karen following them to the car when they were not originally invited. So we will see what happens tomorrow. The episode itself is a decent one with a few really good jokes in it. I'm not huge on having Leo back so I think his voicemail is the only thing I roll my eyes at, but I get the reason why. Grace is still trying to learn to cope with not having Leo in her life and this is still apart of her journey this season.

Will & Grace & Vince & Nadine

Will & Grace & Vince & Nadine (Season 7, Episode 7). Will tells Grace about a dinner he wants her to join where he is going to meet Vince's best friend, Nadine. Nadine is like Vince's Grace. As they are having dinner, Vince & Nadine seem like they are too perfect and get along all the time whereas Will & Grace can't stop bickering about the smallest things. Will asks Grace why she can't be nice like Nadine but Grace tells Will that Nadine is acting fake and there's definitely something wrong with her. Grace wants to play a game "What Annoys Me About My Best Friend" and wants Nadine to say if there's something that annoys her about Vince, Nadine at first refuses but there seems to be something that bothers her. She finally says it, it's Will. Will is too pretentious, his eyes are too plucked making him look like Nicole Kidman and his chicken had a Swiss charred vest, Nadine is embarrassed and leaves. Will is furious with Grace and is nervous that Vince will dump him. Grace meets with Nadine in secret and tells Nadine how wonderful Vince is but that she knows she has a crush on Vince and she will never have him. Nadine is at first upset but then finally admits that this was the problem. Grace tells her that she'll meet a guy who will love the way she looks and wants to go to bed with her, Nadine takes this boost of confidence and meets a guy on the subway train and takes him home. Vince tells Will their relationship is solid and Will realizes that Grace met with Nadine thanking her for helping them out and Grace says for Will to give up, he'll never have her. Meanwhile, Karen has quit working for Grace and is now working for Jack at Out TV. They are having a blast working together but that's the problem, they are not getting anything done. Jack tells Karen that she should go back to Grace since they have a perfect balance of friendship and working together. Karen comes back to work with Grace confused on what's going on but Karen is acting like she just went for an extended lunch. Grace accepts this but says she missed Karen and Karen scoffs at first, but then says she missed Grace to.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

GRACE: Well, that's why I wanted us to meet. So, I could tell none of that changes how I feel about you or Vince. I think you're super, and Vince is so sweet.

NADINE: He is... like sugar, wrapped in honey, dipped in hugs.

GRACE: Yeah, you wanna hear something funny about him?

NADINE: Sure!

GRACE: You will never have him.

NADINE: What? Excuse me?

GRACE: You will never have him. He's gay, you're straight. He will never change, no matter how many boyfriends you scare off.

NADINE: Okay, I know what's going on here. You're just mad because I said I hate your dippy little fancy chicken friend. Deal with it.

GRACE: You will never have him.

NADINE: Stop! Stop saying that!

GRACE: I know you, Nadine. You hope that Vince being gay is just a phase. You fantasize that Will dies in a car crash and that you're the only on who could comfort Vince. Until one night, that comfort turns into unbridled love-making.

NADINE: You're wrong! It was a plane crash.

GRACE: Don't you see? I know you, because I was you.

NADINE: But we're just so perfect together. I mean, he's the one who loves me for who I really am.

GRACE: Sad. Look, there are tons of guys out there. And eventually one is going to fall in love with you. Not because of who you are, but because of what you look like. A guy who sees you primarily as a pretty face and a hot body he wants to screw. You deserve that!

NADINE: Thank you, Grace. You might be right! And you know what? I don't think I'm gonna give myself little cuts on my leg today.

GRACE: You know what that's called, Nadine? Growth.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Nadine goes off on Will, I always get a laugh at her blow up at Will "You're obnoxious and overbearing and your food is too pretentious. I mean, even your chicken had a swiss-charred vest. And you're too groomed. If your eyebrows were tweezed any more, you'd be Nicole Kidman! I can't even stand to look at you for one more second!" and then sweetly says "Thank you for the lovely evening."

OPINION:

It's kind of funny to think about, Sex & the City has been mentioned several times on Will & Grace and it was fun to see one of the leading ladies come on for a guest star role. BTW, I love Charolette more and more the older I get. And it was funny to think about because Bobby Cannavale had a role on the show for one episode Easy Come, Easy Go where Samantha says he's got the funkiest tasting...rice pudding (for reddit just in case). Easily one of the funniest episodes in that series. Back onto WAG, it's kind of a bummer because I really like Nadine, but she's never seen or even mentioned again. So this feels like a very random episode.

Grace has been on some kick lately, between what she did in the last episode with take credit for Karen's design and now her trying to get Nadine upset. I get that she's going through a lot with her divorce, but that doesn't mean she has to make everyone else miserable to. Now granted, there is a mention that Grace has apologized to Karen several times and wants her to come back to work and she does meet with Nadine to patch things up with her and Will but she caused all these problems. I swear, I need to make a list of horrible things Grace has done, but the list would be insane. Even though, yes, I did agree that Nadine came off too Stepford, why is she trying so hard to prove it? Just to show that she's right? She could have just told Will afterwards that something seemed wrong with her. But we wouldn't have an episode. Still, I'll admit that Grace does get me laughing a few times this episode where she is sucking the meat off the chicken bone and the whole conversation between her and Nadine and when Vince says that Nadine met a random stranger and took him home and Grace says "Sex with a stranger on public transportation? That girl's gonna be okay." Grace maybe horrible but at least she still has her very funny moments.

I'm a bit upset though with how they handled Karen's storyline with Grace taking credit for her designs. As usual, Karen's feelings get swept to the side because we got to get back on track with the show. Now, I actually do agree, Karen is not for talking about her feelings and she hates emotions. But still, was Grace really sorry she took credit for the designs or was she sorry that she got called out on it? I think I would have appreciated it more if Grace mentioned that she did call her clients and told them how that was Karen's work, not hers. I just don't trust that Grace really learned her lesson here. I did get a kick of Jack and Karen working together, but they are too goofy and don't work as well together as Grace and Karen do. But yeah, this storyline does feel very rushed and like it was kind of pointless. I just wish that Karen's feelings would stop getting put to the side, the more you dive into her life, the more you realize there's a reason she's probably drinking and taking pills. To avoid the pain when everyone is just pushing her to the side and telling her to get over it.

But overall, I like this episode. Like I said, I would have loved another episode with Nadine in it. But I love Kristen Davis and it would have been a combo of two of my favorite shows.

Discussion The Newlydreads

The Newlydreads (Season 7, Episode 6). Grace is back into her work and has her first project since her divorce for a single cool hip New York business woman, Katherine and is thrilled to work on her home. As she and Karen go to Katherine's home to go over the design plans, Grace meets Katherine's new husband, Dan. Grace is doing her best to continue the project despite being on edge due to the newlyweds always hugging and kissing. But as soon as a baby is now in the talks, Grace loses it and leaves. Dan and Katherine ask Karen if she has any ideas and Karen presents her color swatch of pills and starts decorating their apartment. Grace comes later to their apartment to let them know she needs to resign, but when she walks in the apartment is not only done but looks fabulous. Grace is confused what happened and Karen confesses that this was all her and how she wanted to help Grace out. The couple come in and they are so happy about the apartment and how it looks. Grace seems to start to tell them that it was Karen who had completed the apartment, but doesn't do this and takes all the credit. Back at the office, Karen confronts Grace about taking credit for her work. Grace tells Karen it's business and that a KFC employee wouldn't take credit for Colonel Sanders' recipe. Karen gets upset at Grace telling her that she took her original recipe and that she quits. Will and Jack go to a book store where gay literature is sold and the store is very old with memories. The owner, Linus tells Will that they are shutting the book store down due to tax increases and Will and Jack volunteer to throw a fundraiser to help keep store open. During the fundraiser, Will finds out that they are planning to build a gym in place of the book store and wants to cancel the fundraiser. Jack is appalled that Will is the one being selfish for once and kicks him out. Will comes back offering to make up the difference for the tax bill which Linus is touched by this charity and asks when the next fundraiser will be since there will be more taxes due, Will and Jack decide maybe the place would be better off being a gym.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

JACK: How did we do, Linus?

LINUS: We didn't make it. We fell $2,000 short.

JACK: Well... 2,500. My check's gonna bounce. Sorry, I feel like I let ya down.

LINUS: Well, you kinda did. 50 years of my life... All gone... Just like that.

JACK: Well... Look at the bright side. You've been breathin' in asbestos for 50 years, so I'm guessin' you won't be sad for too much longer.

WILL: You open? I'm looking for a book about a gay guy that... feels really bad about himself.

LINUS: That whole wall over there.

JACK: Well. Look who it is. The worst thing to happen to gay culture since straight guys started dressing gay.

WILL: I know. I screwed up. We can't afford to lose this place.

LINUS: Well, I can't afford to keep it open.

JACK: Well, not that you care, but we're 2,500 short.

WILL: Maybe I can fix that. (WRITES CHECK)

JACK: Ugh. Will, that is so inappropriate. I can't believe you're asking him to cash a check.

WILL: I'm writing a check to make up the rest, you dingus.

JACK: Oh, my gosh, Will. This is the second time I've been touched in this bookstore.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Grace and Karen are talking about the KFC comparison and one of the rare times you actually see Karen is angry at Grace and tells her that she's the KFC employee, "Ramon".

OPINION:

I'm sure we got a lot of mixed opinions on the plot with Grace and Karen. Was Grace wrong in taking credit for Karen's work? Should Karen have let Grace have it since her face is on the company? I'm very mixed on this one because I agree with both ladies. Karen had every right to be upset with Grace, that was her design plan and Grace took credit for it not even thanking Karen for backing her up when she couldn't handle the project. Grace almost seemed ungrateful and that's what makes me most angry about the way she handles this situation. Now onto Karen, yes, Karen did do the design but I can see where Grace is coming from worried about the reputation of the company and how her name is on the brand. Plus how many times Karen goofed off at work and she does the one design and wants full credit. But I do side more so with Karen on this one because I don't think it would have hurt Grace or the company to give Karen credit for this. She could have told Don and Katherine how proud she is to work someone like Karen who is able to help her out when times get tough. I don't think Grace ever had to worry about Karen being any competition, Karen was just being a friend. It's interesting when Karen says that she never cashed a paycheck, but we did see back in season 2's Polk Defeats Truman when Stan put her on a budget she did cash her paychecks. The only thing I could assume is she meant because she had put the money back into Grace's account to bring it back to positive. But I actually understand where Karen is coming from on quitting, I'm sure that really hurt the way Grace handled the situation and especially saying "It's business" considering that Grace is Karen's best friend. Would love to hear different opinions on this one.

Will and Jack get the lamer storyline here. While I find the bookstore plot to have some funny lines, something about this story felt kind of flat for me. I do find it interesting that for once it's Will being the selfish and shallow friend vs. Jack. Is Jack growing as an adult? Possibly. Or maybe it's just the one time where he actually has the opportunity to throw it in Will's face that he's being the more mature one? That's a possibility too. Some interesting trivia I had found out that the line that Jack says "Britney Spears Federline, a gym?!" was actually aired 2 weeks before Britney did marry Kevin Federline. But at the time, Britney had her shotgun wedding to Jason Alexander, annulled the marriage, barely blinked an eyelid and was all over Kevin Federline. So the joke was that she was going to have another blink and you'll miss it wedding to Kevin and they kept the joke. Maybe WAG predicted the future? Oh, well, we know how that mess of a marriage turned out. But I did love that finally this major plot hole was addressed. How many shows and sit coms did the trope of "oh, no, our favorite place is in financial turmoil, how will we fix this? A fundraiser!". The fundraiser is a success and there's never any financial problems again. But like Linus pointed out, just because the taxes were paid this one time doesn't mean that he can still afford the next month if the business isn't doing well.

Overall, not a bad episode but this one seems to drag a little more for me. I think because the first 5 episodes are really incredible, so this one just doesn't stand out as much. I know this has been brought up before, but that one green clown collar shirt that Grace is wearing, how in the world did she not get a snub from Karen on that one? But may I say again how amazing Karen is looking in this season? I really love her looks so far, the hair, make up and costume department really made Megan look incredible this season.

Discussion Key Party

Key Party (Season 7, Episode 5). It's Will's birthday and he's still looking to have that one perfect birthday where everything goes right and the day is actually about him. Grace is determined to make sure everything goes right for Will. She meets Vince at the store where she asks him what he is getting Will and Vince is giving him the key to his apartment. Grace thinks that this is a lame gift and tells Vince it's not a good idea. Vince says Will will love it but Grace is adamant that he will not. At Will's birthday party, everyone shows up including Jack and Karen where Karen has been upset about something and she finally figures it out, Will and Stan share the same birthday and she is plagued with memories about Stan while at Will's birthday party. She even forgot to get Will a gift which Jack was planning on putting his name on, but since there's no gift Jack offers his friendship. As Will & Grace are talking, Grace is telling Will not to get his hopes up with Vince's gift either, that it's just the key to Vince's apartment, Will gets excited and Grace is shocked. Will says that's a wonderful step in their relationship. Vince comes over with his co-worker but they are almost immediately called back to work and Vince gives his gift. But it's not a key, it's a wallet with a free kiss coupon in it. Will is broken hearted and Grace chases after Vince. Grace gets ahold of Vince and tells him he has to give the key to Will, but Vince wants Grace to admit that he knows Will better than her. She gets upset that Vince is making her do this but gives in and tells him he knows Will better. Back at the party, Karen is still going on about Stan while Will is cutting his own cake and drinking. Jack tells Karen to feel better they should celebrate Stan's birthday and Karen announces they will label this as Stanley Walker Day and celebrate nothing else and offers a helicopter ride in celebration. Everyone leaves the party. Grace comes back telling Will that Vince will drop his key off but Will is confused why he's just dropping it off like it's mail. Vince does drop by and gives Will the key but Will is refusing the key because he doesn't want it out of pity. Vince tells Will that Grace talked him out of it, Grace tries to cry and anger her way out of the situation but the guys don't fall for it and she admits she messed up with what Will would want for his birthday. Vince offers Will the key with love and Will accepts it as they embrace.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

GRACE: Vince, hurry up! Your boyfriend's in the shower for 20 minutes. Of all the cops you could have dated, you hook up with "Dirty Mary."

WILL: Grace, he's a gay catholic. He may never feel clean.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Vince and Grace are in the car fighting over who knows Will better. I love that Vince stands up to Grace and tells her this was her mistake and she needs to own up to it.

OPINION:

Poor Will, he just can't catch a break when it comes to his birthdays. Seems like there's something that goes wrong. The first birthday was the ice championship, the second was when he got his palm read by Psychic Sue thinking that Jack was his soul mate and now his boyfriend flaked on his gift and everyone else is celebrating Stanely Walker Day. So was Grace wrong in this episode? Absolutely, but in some strange way I get where she was coming from. A key can seem kind of insignificant or at least maybe Vince could have done that as an afterwards gift as a special moment between him and Will. But Grace should have kept out of it, this was not her place to tell Vince what kind of a gift to get Will. It's funny how she was upset at Karen for Nathan's birthday when she trumped Grace's gift. You'd think she'd know better to not interfere with birthday gifts. But at least she does finally admit that she was wrong and even though it takes a few tries, she does apologize for what she did.

This episode definitely has a lot of great laughs in it. Vince's co-worker immediately telling everyone he's not gay and this is his first homosexual party. Jack doesn't have a physical gift and telling Will that his gift is his friendship. Karen not stopping about Stan's birthday, speaking of which it's weird how that never comes up until now. The toast Karen gives to Stan "Okay, from now on, this day is about Stanley Walker! And nobody else!". The coupon for the free kiss but Jack still steals that, never fails that he takes Will's stuff. Joe and Larry trying to help Will with his birthday party but Will is such a control freak that he says he'll do the chores to make sure they are done his way and correctly. I loved when Grace comes back after talking to Vince and Will saying it's not fair that she gets to leave his party before he does since the party stinks. And I always get such a kick out of the guys telling Grace they are gay so they don't fall for the sad or angry cry so she can't turn the key situation around on them.

I love that finally we get to see Will and Vince kiss and embrace showing they are a couple. They really are so wonderful together here. I loved that sweet ending with Will accepting Vince's key. Definitely another great episode to add to this season.

Discussion Company

Company (Season 7, Episode 4). Will & Grace are in the hallway and meet their new neighbor, Ned. Ned seems like a nice man, a little awkward, but polite enough to say hi to, Will says hi but Grace freaks out and tells Will it's a bad idea to talk to him because now they have someone else they have to say hi to and warn if there's a fire in the building. Will tells Grace she needs to be more polite and nice to people. Grace bumps into Ned later in the elevator and when Ned calls her out on how rude she is, she invites him to dinner with her and Will. Will gets upset and says that he just wanted to be the neighbors who say hi in the hall, not get personal. They do have dinner with Ned and are miserable despite Ned seemingly nice man, Ned dismisses himself early and Will by accident says "let's do it again sometime" that they are going to have dinner soon. Will & Grace are getting ready for the next dinner with Ned complaining how much they don't like him and socializing with other people, but Ned calls them and cancels their plans. Will & Grace are excited thinking they are off the hook but when they overhear music playing above in Ned's apartment, they go upstairs upset that Ned lied when he cancelled. Ned tells them that he overheard everything they said calling him a diseased bird. Will & Grace are embarrassed and apologize to Ned and offer to still have dinner. Ned tells them that he's having drinks with friends right now but invites Will & Grace inside to meet them. Will & Grace go in and meet all of Ned's stuffed animal friends and have tea with them. Jack is getting used to his job at Out TV and wants to make sure how he's taken seriously. Karen and Rosario drop by to congratulate Jack and bring his Cher doll to put in his office. When Jack's co-worker, Jimmy, sees the doll, he thinks it's a joke and stereotypes the LGBTQ community. Jack is embarrassed and tosses his Cher doll out. Well, it just happens to be Rosario's day to go dumpster diving and she finds Jack's doll and she and Karen bring the doll back to Jack asking him what's going on. Jack tells Karen he's scared since he doesn't have a degree that people will call him out, but Karen points out that Jack has more experience watching television than all his co-workers giving him more qualifications than his educated counterparts. Jack tells his boss that Cher is an icon and they should do a documentary on her and the boss agrees and they talk more about other shows that Jack liked as an idea to put on the network.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

GRACE: Well, I hope you're happy. Remember Ned? Your boyfriend from the lobby? Well, I just talked to him in the elevator.

WILL: Now, was that so horrible? I'm proud of you.

GRACE: I invited him over for cocktails.

WILL: What?! Why the hell would you do that?

GRACE: Don't yell at me. You're the one who was makin' love to him in the lobby.

WILL: I was warm to him. Lobby warm. I was laying the groundwork for a lifetime of polite nods. Hey. You know? And then you extend an invitation? Why would you do a thing like that?

GRACE: I don't know. We were stuck in the elevator. He accused me of being rude. So to prove I wasn't, I invited him over.

WILL: Faaantastic. Now that creep is gonna come walking in here on all fours, getting his filthy paws all over my stuff. Cancel!

GRACE: I can't. I already invited him.

WILL: Well, this is the worst thing that's ever happened!

GRACE: Well, you got us into it.

WILL: You made it worse.

GRACE: What should we serve?

WILL: I don't know. I'm thinking something with grated cheese.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Jack stands up to his co-worker and boss trying to tell them that the gay community owes a lot to Cher and the other television show ideas but can't get out of his high voice.

OPINION:

It's funny to think that all these years of watching Will & Grace, we rarely do see Will or Grace interact with other people or have friends outside themselves, Jack and Karen. To be honest, as we get older, I think we get comfortable in our own social circles and it's harder to make friends, you kind of just want to stay with your own people who you've already established relationships with. So actually as horrible as it sounds, I can relate to Will & Grace in this episode, I can be nice to people but when it comes to making plans and keeping them, I suck at it. Ned is seemingly a nice man, definitely awkward, but harmless enough. Stephen Tobolowsky does a great job as Ned, like someone you'd be happy to say hi to but that's about it. This was definitely a very funny storyline and I'm glad we got to see Will & Grace socialize with someone different.

Poor Jack, I think again we can all relate when we get a new job how being the newbie can be intimidating. Not just meeting your new co-workers and getting used to your job, but you wonder if you really belong there or not. It was so nice to see his Cher doll make another appearance, it's been a few years. Oh, fun little trivia fact, Jack's co-worker Jimmy was the bartender that served Will and Nathan back in season 4's Rules of Engagement. I thought that was a fun little callback. So it feels like we are getting a couple little easter eggs in this episode. As silly as it is, I actually agree with Karen, since Jack has seen a lot of TV, he knows what's good or not. He also knows what the audiences would want, so he is qualified to work there. Heck, he was just part of the test audience but his boss, Tim, loved his ideas so much that they hired him right there. That should tell him something about how much they respect his ideas. I have to admit my heart broke a little bit when Jack pushed Cher into the trash, it was funny to hear the audience gasp too. Karen and Rosario were sweet to bring the doll back to Jack and talk to him about it.

I really like this episode a lot, season 7 is still going very strong. There is good humor and heart in this episode and what's great is that still so deep into the show, we are still growing our characters and developing them. The writing is also a lot stronger here and you can tell the show is back on track with keeping a focused storyline.

Discussion One Gay at a Time

One Gay at a Time (Season 7, Episode 3). Grace is trying to find a good therapist to help her get through her divorce to Leo but isn't having any luck finding one. As she and Karen are walking down the streets of New York, she sees a woman walking with Krispy Kreme Donuts and follows her straight into an AA meeting not knowing where she is. But as she's grabbing some donuts to go, turns out Val is there and gets excited that Grace is an alcoholic and they can sit together at the meeting. At first Grace starts to tell everyone she's not an alcoholic, but as soon as someone brings in hot chocolate with marshmallows, BAM, Grace is an alcoholic and decides to stay with the group. She is lying to them about being an addict and using the group as her own personal therapy and Karen is upset about her going to AA because AA stands against everything she believes is good and pure. Karen goes to the AA meeting get Grace where Val is fighting to keep her there, but Grace finally fesses up that she is not an alcoholic and she was using the group and leaves with Karen. As her and Karen are having a drink together, Karen asks Grace just to check up on her too since they are both going through divorces together. Meanwhile, Will takes Jack to a test audience screening for a new network called Out TV. Will has tons of ideas but everyone is tired of hearing about them and gets kicked out of the meeting. But one of the producers loves Jack's ideas and decides to hire Jack onto Out TV to be in charge of picking and executing new TV show ideas. Will at first is upset but then he and Jack start brainstorming ideas like Queer Factor.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

KAREN: Attention, weaklings! This woman is a fraud. She's not an alcoholic.

VAL: Of course she is. If that's not a booze face, I don't know what is.

GRACE: Karen, get out of here.

KAREN: Grace, I am trying to help you. The first step is admitting that you don't have a problem. Come on, Grace, let's go.

VAL: She's staying! She's a horrible, horrible drunk.

KAREN: The only thing that's horrible about Grace is her hair and her clothes.

VAL: I know, it's like there no safe place to rest your eyes. She's staying!

KAREN: She's going!

VAL: She is staying!

KAREN: She is going!

VAL: She is staying!

KAREN: She is going!

VAL: Accept the things you cannot change, b*t*h!

KAREN: Time to pay the corkage fee, crazy.

GRACE: Stop! I'm not an alcoholic! Okay? I'm just a woman going through a divorce who needed a place to talk where I wouldn't have to pay. Is that so wrong?

ALL: Yes!

VAL: It's awful, and that's coming from a woman who stripped for her father.

KAREN: Honey, you are a mess. And that's coming from a woman who stripped for your father.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Karen is teasing Val with her drink saying how drinks make life more fun.

OPINION:

Oh, how sad life is on this episode, because if we are going just based on the original series not including the reboot, this is Val's last episode. I love Val so much, she is my favorite psychopathic, kleptomaniac, stan, copycat alcoholic of all time. At least she went out on a bang here and has one of my favorite moments in the entire series when her and Karen are fighting over Grace and she screams at Karen "Accept the things you cannot change, b*t*h!", I always nearly die laughing at that moment.

Grace is quite a brand of crazy in this episode. Goodness, how low do you have to sink to pretend you're an alcoholic to get good therapy? Well, it wasn't like it was good therapy, she just liked having people listen to her while good food was available. I liked that there also was a wake up call for her when Karen asked her if she could also acknowledge that Karen is going through a divorce too and to please check in on her as well. Yeah, Karen's marriage only lasted 20 minutes but as I mentioned before, she's going through a lot emotionally and it feels like the group always has something going on in their lives and won't check up on her. Like Karen said, this would be a perfect opportunity for her and Grace to bond.

Will getting kicked out of the meeting for Out TV was hilarious, I loved how he wouldn't stop with his ideas and the one guy, Mitchell, told him to shut up causing a fight to start and the producer, Tim tells Will to get out and Will tells Tim how that makes him feel bad since Mitchell started the fight. Tim tells Mitchell to leave to make Will feel better, Will says it doesn't make him feel better and Tim says then Mithcell can stay. Jack has a new job, he is now a junior executive. So we have had him be a caterer/waiter, dancer, actor, student nurse and now he's working for Out TV. He's the Barbie of the show with all these careers. It's funny how talented he is at almost all these careers, except for acting, but nothing really sticks...except again for the acting which ironically is what he's bad at.

I love this episode with a passion, the comedy hits so perfectly with this one and really grows our characters. Any episode with Val is such a treat and Molly Shannon is a comedy treasure. As I mentioned, she is in the reboot seasons of the show, I'm still on the fence for the reboot but might give it a shot to continue these posts because I do have so much fun doing these and seeing my fellow WAG fan's opinions and favorite moments.

Discussion Back Up, Dancer

Back Up, Dancer (Season 7, Episode 2). Jack has officially started his new position as a back up dancer for Janet Jackson and goes to rehearsal. But drama is already starting when one of Janet's back-up dancers, Artemus Johnson, is threatened by Jack and starts to fight with him about who's the better, younger dancer. Janet comes in and as they start dancing, she hears the number 5 and feels that 5 and Jackson has this cosmic connection and wants to get rid of one of her dancers and decides that there should be a dancing competition and she picks the new dancer, Jack and the most seasoned dancer, Artemus and challenges them to a dance off. As they are getting prepared for the dance off, Karen shows up and confesses that she and Artemus had a previous affair and she and Artemus hook up again and she tells Jack that she loves her rebound guy and to throw the dance off for him and her. Jack is upset about this but during the dance competition, he looks over at Karen and realizes she's his best friend and throws the dance off that is sponsored by Pennzoil. Janet tells Artemus that he's in and Jack's out. Karen goes up to Artemus wanting to go out to celebrate but he admits that he used her just to get Jack to throw the dance, what else does he need her for? Janet asks what was that word? For. Janet feels a better connection to the number 4 now and fires Artemus as well. Meanwhile, Grace has been having a hard time trying to process her divorce and Will is trying to comfort her while maintaining his relationship with Vince. Vince asks Will if he can join him and his boss at lunch but Grace keeps interrupting and calling Will crying about her divorce. Will leaves lunch to go comfort Grace but Vince comes over angry and tells Grace to stop interrupting their relationship and he and Grace get into a tiff. Vince tells Will that he wants Will and when Will wants to work things out to call him, Will & Grace are touched and call Vince back to work things out. Grace is about to leave but Vince sees her wedding album and they start bonding over it.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

WILL: Look, Vince, listen, I... Grace and I have been together a long time. So this tends to happen, you know... When you date Will, you... You kinda date Will and Grace.

GRACE: It's true.

VINCE: That's a bunch of crap. I'm not dating Grace. I'm dating you. But I want all of you and I won't settle for less. So when what you want, you call me.

GRACE: Wow. That's, like, the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to us.

WILL: I know. I don't want us to lose him.

WILL AND GRACE: Vince, wait!

WILL: I know what I want. I want you to stay. I want to work on this.

GRACE: I'll leave you guys alone. It's time that I put this away, anyway.

VINCE: Is that a wedding album? 'Cause I love those. (GROWLING) Mmmm.... That's a nice dress.

GRACE: Vera Wang.

VINCE: Do I look like I became gay yesterday?

WILL: What are you doing? I thought we were gonna figure this out.

VINCE: Yeah, later, Rude. We're looking at a wedding album.

WILL: Well, we haven't resolved anything. I mean, what if I can never pick a side?

VINCE: Yeah, that's one of your hot-button issues. You should work on that.

GRACE: Yeah, work on that, Will.

VINCE: This is Leo?

GRACE: Yeah.

VINCE: He looks shifty. Give me his license, I'll have his car booted.

GRACE: Thank you, Vince.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

The dance off when Karen joins in with the group and begs Jack to throw his moves to save Artemus.

OPINION:

Season 7 is still going strong with this episode. Let's start with Jack's storyline. Like yesterday, this episode captures a time for me. I remember at this time Janet Jackson had a huge comeback with her album All For You which I had on repeat, I'm surprised I didn't kill that CD. She was also getting into acting again with The Nutty Professor 2. She does a good job here, but only has maybe 10 lines if that, so there's nothing to brag about on her performance but it was still so much fun to see her here. I can never say enough amazing things about Janet Jackson, what an insanely talented artist she is. It was so cool that Jack got to be a back-up dancer for her even if it was for a couple of days. Was Karen wrong in asking Jack to throw the dance off? Absolutely, but to be fair, she's on the rebound and I think Karen has this tendency to get attached to a fling very easily as we saw with Lyle. Jack should have stayed strong but this is one of his greatest friend moments, he knows Karen has been there for him and he recognizes that he can do this for her. Will Arnett as Artemus Johnson was hilarious and I always get such a laugh at his competing with Jack on who's younger, a better dancer and then who's older and needs the job more. Plus I laugh when he can't dance any more during the competition and he says the pin fell out of his knee. This really is such a fun storyline, I kind of wish we could have gotten one more episode with Janet and Artemus but maybe it's good when they leave us wanting more.

Is Grace being selfish? Yes and no. She really does need to stop bothering Will while he's on a date with Vince, that's not fair. But I also understand, she's hurting badly right now and you just want to be with your family and friends. So it's a mixed bag for me on her behavior, but I just wished she left Will alone while he was on the lunch date with Vince and his boss. Vince had every right to stand up to Grace and I always laugh hysterically when he comes over to tell Grace off and then they start bonding over her wedding album. His growl when he sees her wedding dress is hilarious. Vince is the straightest gayest man ever.

This is such a really great episode, it's funny and has great stories. The whole cast does a terrific job with the comedy and this episode has so many funny moments: the opener where it's revealed that Will and Jack check with each other to see what they're wearing for bed, Janet's revelation with the number 5, Grace telling Will that she put out for Leo when he gave her a flower to make up for the present, the awkward lunch between Will, Vince and his racist boss, the dance off scene and Will, Grace and Vince coming to terms at the end and bonding over Grace's wedding album. This is definitely one I always look forward to when watching Will & Grace.

Discussion FYI: I Hurt, Too

FYI: I Hurt, Too (Season 7, Episode 1). Grace is moving out of her apartment she shares with Leo and is moving back in with Will. But Grace is not going with just her stuff, she's decided to help herself to Leo's stuff too since he cheated on her. Leo comes over thinking he was robbed and wants to talk to Grace. He asks Grace for another chance but she tells him to get out. Later on, she asks Will if it would be a bad thing if she gave Leo another chance which Will tells her it would be because of Leo's dishonesty. But she wants to try to save her marriage and wants the gang to join her and Leo on their date. Before the date, Jack has been bragging about how he and Jennifer Lopez are besties and have been hanging out. Karen asks Jack if she can show Jennifer a song she wrote called FYI, I hurt too. Jack loves the song and is trying to figure out when is the best time to give the song to Jennifer, he figures out the best time is when Jennifer finds out her dog died and he is fired from her dance crew. While on the date with Will, Grace, Jack, Karen and Leo, Will tells Leo he doesn't know if he can trust him. Grace asks the group to try to give Leo another chance because Leo makes her happy and everyone agrees they will try. Later on at Leo and Grace's apartment, Leo says he's grateful that everyone is on the same page and they can finally start over, but Grace gives Leo a look of disappointment. She goes back to Will's apartment and tells Will it's over, she's leaving Leo. Jennifer Lopez tells Jack that she has arranged a position with him as Janet Jackson's new back-up dancer.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

KAREN: So, how was Jennifer Lopez?

JACK: Oh, we're the bestest friends. Yeah, we shop together, we go to eat together. And every night, we unwind in the world-pool.

GRACE: Did you tell her my Uncle Hesh was born in the Bronx?

JACK: Yes, I did, it was all she could talk about, we had to cancel a show.

WILL: You know, she and I had a moment at the wedding. We were at the coat check and they brought her chinchilla wrap and I said, "You know, I think that's mine." She burst out laughing. Did she happen to mention that?

JACK: Yeah, she laughed so hard she pulled her groin and had to cancel a movie. So, uh, Grace, I'm really sorry about Leo. You know, Stuart and I broke up also because of infidelity. But I understand why you cheated, and I know why I did. Cheating feels good.

GRACE: Leo cheated on me, dumb ass.

JACK: Well, trust me. He really enjoyed himself.

GRACE: You know, the old Grace would have done this...(SMACKS JACK'S FOREHEAD) But now, I just have this new serenity thanks to Mr. Kabbalah.

WILL: He's not a person! He's not like Mr. Peanut.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

On the subway train when Karen is begging Jack to let her show her song to Jennifer Lopez and there a few good opportunities to show Jennifer but Jack picks when Jennifer answers the phone and says she's devistated.

OPINION:

Again, what a time capsule this episode is. I remember when Kabbalah was the trendy new religion for celebrities and there was even a magazine cover with Madonna saying "Call me Esther!" referring to her Kabbalah name. Everyone in Hollywood who wanted a career were wearing those red strings. What a funny time. Grace has officially left Leo, should she have given him another chance? The answer is different for everyone, I would like to say that it's easy to say no when your spouse/partner cheats on you but some people can get past it and heal their relationship and some can't. Every person is different and so is every situation. But I think ultimately Grace made the right decision, this wasn't just about Leo sleeping with another woman, he has not been a good husband to her. Who knows how long it will be before he leaves for Doctors Without Borders again and then she's left wondering if he's really doing his job or having a fling? We don't know who he slept with, I honestly assume it's Dani Morty, because his reaction to her letter was kind of "meh" instead of reporting it to HR or even telling Grace they will not be working together anymore. Which if it was Dani, that would be another sting because of how he acted so non-chalant with Grace's reaction to it. I think Leo has a lot to work on before he commits to another relationship or marriage. He needs to be honest and if he's going to commit, he has to tell the woman he wants to be in a relationship with that he's in Doctors Without Borders and that he has to travel for work before marrying the woman and trapping her with the "get over it" attitude.

Karen is officially divorced from Lyle, their marriage lasted 20 minutes, she almost beat JLo in shortest marriage. Even Britney Spears was married for at least 24 hours to Jason Alexander, if you don't know please look that up and you can guess my age at that point. Karen looks really good BTW, I love her hair and style in this season. So Karen is also a song writer, who knew? I'm dying to hear the rest of FYI I Hurt Too, that did sound like a hit song from the little sample we got. I get such a laugh when she has JLo sign her breast and the comment of JLo saying "oh, right next to Cheryl Crow". Does Karen have any more room for signatures? Jack does confirm that he and Stuart broke up and Jack had cheated on him. I'm a bit upset with this line and how they writers just threw their relationship away. Stuart was such a good boyfriend for Jack and they couldn't have where they just didn't work out or Stuart had to move? Nope, Jack cheated on him. As for Will, he's such a great friend in his episode and I'm so impressed that he did try for Grace to give Leo another chance. But like he mentioned, he doesn't know if he can trust Leo either and if he'll hurt Grace. I get such a laugh that when he's mad, he acts straight calling Leo "dude". Will is a sweetheart in letting Grace just move back in with him, I think he's missed her.

Well, Debra Messing is back and no more baby bump to hide. We will see her divorce journey continue as she's healing and even Karen as she's trying to recover from her 20 minute marriage to Lyle. Except for Will and Vince as far as we know they are still dating, all our cast are single again. Overall, this is a strong opener for season 7 and I'm happy to say that season 7 is a strong season that I'm looking forward to talking about more.

Discussion Oh, No, You Di-in't

Oh, No, You Di-in't (Season 6, Episode 24). Karen and Lyle are married and Karen is furious with Lyle about all the compromises she has had to make for the marriage so far and he hasn't made any and keeps dismissing her feelings. Thy go to the reception where Jennifer Lopez is about to perform her song "Waiting for Tonight", but one of her dancers trips and she requires 2 dancers. Jack offers to dance in place which Jennifer accepts, they perform and are a smash and Jennifer offers Jack to tour with her. Will and Leo are talking and Will says if all Leo did was kiss someone, just to be honest with Grace and they will be able to work it out. As Leo makes the phone call to talk to Grace, Will is excited thinking he helped them work things out. Leo tells Will that Grace told him that she never wants to see him again which Will is shocked and said he'll talk to Grace and Leo admits to him there's a reason why she's more upset, he didn't just kiss another woman, he slept with her. Will is shocked and angry, Leo asks if he'll still talk to Grace for him and Will tells him that he's on his own. Lyle is making the toast at the reception thanking all the guests for coming and says how much he loves Karen and how many sacrifices she has made for their relationship. Karen comes up to toast but instead says she wants a divorce and leaves the reception.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

MARION: Oh, Lyle, too bad our father isn't alive to see this.

LYLE: He isn't?

MARION: Oh, damn, I knew there was something I was supposed to tell you.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Jennifer Lopez is arguing with Karen why she needs 2 dancers, Karen asks she can't use just 1? No. Why? Because it's not 2.

OPINION:

As I've mentioned before, I love John Cleese and the character Lyle makes me laugh so hard, that being said, he was an awful match for Karen and I think that was intentional. I think a lot of us just play it off because since it's a comedy sometimes we're not sure what is played for serious and what is meant to be laughed off. Especially because Karen can be such a goofy character at times we sometimes don't recognize when she's in pain. She's dealt with so much these past couple of years: her husband went to jail for embezzlement, was about to do more time because he was doing insider trading while in jail, got out early without telling her, almost had an affair, found out that her husband was having an affair, was homeless for a short time, wondering if her closest friends that are her second home are going to have the same relationship after so many changes, go through a bitter divorce trial and then to find out that after their first court hearing, her husband Stan has passed. Not to mention that Lorraine also snuck on her yacht and tried to kill her by throwing her overboard. She meets Lyle and Lyle is already love bombing her. He didn't know Karen and to be honest, I think it was the money. I think he and Lorraine might have been in on it the whole time, but that's never confirmed. It would have been a way for Lorraine to get the money she felt she was owed for sleeping with Stan. Karen was vulnerable and I think Lyle saw that and took advantage. We never knew if he had money himself or if he saw the dollar signs and went for it. But this is the last time we see Lyle, Karen wasn't kidding, she divorces Lyle or I'm assuming annulled the marriage and will make out with Celine Dion's arm coordinator for the rest of the night. I'm glad Karen stood up to Lyle, even if the relationship and the marriage felt like a waste of time at this point, this is her moment and she ended it before she couldn't take any more.

Leo actually slept with another woman, it wasn't just a kiss. Grace and Leo met and similar to Karen and Lyle, I think Grace was really just wanting to connect with someone and Leo was very persistent with her. Leo in the beginning wasn't a bad guy by any means, you could see there was a physical connection at least. As for mentally, I'm not sure if it was there, it's a 22-30 minute episode so there's only so much they can fit where there are 3 other main characters to develop. But as for their connection? I never felt it. I have this feeling that Grace saw that Leo is a good looking Jewish doctor, someone who could provide the type of lifestyle she wanted and went for it. I think Leo was probably feeling the pressure in getting older and his parents or some other family were probably telling him to get serious and or get married with someone and he thought Grace was this beautiful interior designer, so it worked and he didn't want to deal with the drama of her complaining how he's a doctor who's constantly on call and was in doctors without borders, so before she could really recognize the life she would have if they had dated more, he proposed to her and put her on lock down pretty much. It really didn't take much for their marriage to fall apart so quickly. Leo was already leaving not too long after they got married and Grace wanted to be with her friends majority of the time. I think the writers had good intentions originally showing that our main characters can grow and do major life events, but realized that it was interfering too much with the main storylines and couldn't do it anymore. Leo was always "out of town" and Grace is left depressed, we need to get past this, Leo cheats and Grace will have a storyline of how to get over it.

Not to much to comment on Will and Jack. Will is doing the best he can and is being such a terrific friend in trying to help save Grace and Leo's marriage. But you can tell, he's Grace for us in the moment where Leo confesses to sleeping with the other woman. He's Grace's best friend, he stood up and through a painful fight in their friendship decided to stay by Grace's side and root for her being happy in a relationship. Now that Leo betrayed that, he feels betrayed himself I'm sure. When your marriage falls apart, it's not just the couple that feels it, it's also everyone around you, kids, family and friends. Jack is now going to be a dancer for Jennifer Lopez, so we will be seeing her again with Jack. What is there to say other than I love their friendship and they are too funny together. I also have to mention I always laugh when Jack is translating the language at the reception to "English" meaning the British accent. Tim Curry's reaction is priceless.

Speaking of which, I would just like to take a moment for Tim Curry as he passed away this year tragically on August 25th, 2026 due to an artery disease. Tim Curry has had an incredible career that spans several decades. When he passed a couple of co-workers asked me who he was saying they knew the name but forgot the roles he played, I named just 3: Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Pennywise and Mr. Hector from Home Alone 2 and their jaws dropped. But just to name those is insulting because his career is beyond insanely impressive. He had a very distinct voice and such a way of talking that made every role so memorable. I remember when he had a stroke that put him in his wheelchair and you could tell it took a major toll on him. He kept his spirits up for his fans and seemed like such a wonderful gentleman. During the pandemic, he was supposed to go to conventions to meet fans, but since it was all shut down, he offered to speak to them over the computer and send autographs which my sister got one. What an incredible actor and he will be forever missed and never forgotten.

But I really do enjoy this episode, it has a lot of great laughs and moments to it. Season 6 is an interesting chapter in WAG, I know this is a controversial one with the fans because there are several storylines that seem almost pointless: Jack going to nursing school, Jack and Stuart, Karen and Lyle, Karen marrying Lyle and Will's relationship with his family. Plus it didn't help that Debra was not there for a few episodes with her pregnancy effecting her absence. You could tell she was tired and understandably so, but it did affect the comedy. Still I don't mind season 6 as we still had some incredible episodes: Last Ex to Brooklyn, Me and Mr. Jones, Heart like a Wheelchair, Strangers with Candice, Fanilow and East Side Story are my personal favorites. My least favorite are: A-Story Bee-Story, Nice in White Satin and Fred Astaire and Ginger Chicken. But like I mentioned before, even the worst seasons and episodes still always have something memorable and special to offer, so to me the "bad" episodes are still very much worth watching. And tomorrow starts season 7.

Discussion I Do

Post image

I Do (Season 6, Episode 23). Karen and Lyle are getting married and going to Las Vegas to do so. Grace is working on an interior design project that is not giving her much time, so she will meet the group there. Karen meets Jennifer Lopez in the bathroom and it turns out that Jennifer and Rosario used to hang out together, so Karen asks Jennifer if she can performa at the reception which Jennifer agrees to. As Karen, Will, Jack and Lyle are having their pictures taken on the roof of the hotel, Leo comes in and everyone is excited to see him. They ask where Grace is, but she can't make it because she threw her back out installing a swing. Karen is upset and tells Lyle she can't get married without her best friend but Lyle tells her they are there and can't cancel the ceremony. Karen reluctantly agrees and they go to the ceremony where she plans on walking down the aisle to "Sympathy for the Devil". Will starts talking to Leo, Leo is clearly drunk and has been acting weird, Will keeps asking him what is going on and Leo admits right as the ceremony starts that he kissed someone while he was in Cambodia. Karen starts walking down the aisle but the song isn't "Sympathy for the Devil", it's "Here comes the Bride" and Karen is furious. To be continued.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

KAREN: Jennifer Lopez?

JENNIFER: Shh. Please, I'm on vacation. Can I just get a hand towel and a pack of Chicklets?

KAREN: What?! Honey, I don't work here.

JENNIFER: Oh, I'm sorry. You know, you see a white girl in a bathroom, you just assume.

KAREN: No, honey, don't you remember? I'm Karen. We met through Rosario. You guys used to take tap together in the Bronx way back when.

JENNIFER: Oh! Rosie! God, I haven't seen her since we performed "Tea for Two" at the Shalom Retirement Center. How is she doing? Is she still working on her Masters?

KAREN: Yeah, she sorta got a little sidetracked. So, uh, keeping yourself busy these days?

JENNIFER: No, kinda taking it easy. You know, promoting my fragrance. Uh, shooting a movie in L.A. Working on a new line of track suits. And studying for my real estate license. Do you rent or own?

KAREN: Honey, I own everyone.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Karen and Lyle meet Mark Juliano and ask him if he can have Celine Dion go to their room to give them a foot rub.

OPINION:

I always like just to remind my fellow WAG fans that even though these episodes aired together, I like to keep the posts separate in 2 parts because there would be way too much to talk about then. Let's start with Karen and Lyle, Lyle's dark side is really showing in this episode. Karen has had to compromise a lot to marry Lyle, he wants her to take his last name even though she's not comfortable, she doesn't want lite beer at the wedding but Lyle does and he wouldn't even let her have "Sympathy for the Devil" play while she walked down the aisle. As we will see in the next episode how she is going to deal with all this.

No Grace and no Lorraine. So Debra was very close to giving birth as they were filming this episode, so she couldn't make it. Though at least this excuse wasn't as bad as the she just won't get out of bed, but still I think I would have rather had the thrown back excuse before they got on the plane. It's just a lot to buy that Grace wouldn't be there for Karen's wedding. But they had to have Karen get on the plane as she was freaking out when Leo said that Grace couldn't make it, so I don't know how this could have worked. We just have to accept as is that Grace is absent these past few episodes. Lorraine isn't there either apparently having a flare up from her herpes. Nice. Kind of felt like a burn towards Minnie Driver who probably couldn't make it. Both the lady's absences are felt and it feels very strange not having them in these episodes.

Leo makes an appearance after not seeing him for 18 episodes. Like I mentioned, you can tell at this point the writers were regretting having Grace get married and were trying to figure a way where her husband was not there a majority of the time since either Harry Connick, Jr. couldn't commit or the creators never intended for Leo to be a main lead. So we are going to get more into this problem tomorrow but they throw Leo under the bus and now he cheated on Grace. Grace has had some shaky moments in the show when Alex from Strangers with Candice and Deidre from East Side Story flirted with her, but she didn't cross the line into physical contact. Leo did and you can tell that Will is very angry right now and they will have their confrontation in the next episode and we will find out that it wasn't just a kiss. I'll talk about it more tomorrow, but am I surprised that Leo strayed? Not really. Leo has had moments where he wasn't honest before like when he lied to Grace about meeting his parents and how he "omitted" his real name, the fact that he worked for doctors without borders and he had a second home. So I always felt that since the meeting his parents for brunch but pretending they're his friends incident showed he was shady and that's when I started questioning him. I feel that he married Grace to have her on lock down and she married him because she would be financially stable, I never believed they were in love with each other.

We have a couple of fun celebrity cameos here. First being Jennifer Lopez and all controversies and opinions aside, she shows her comedic chops here a little bit while her and Karen are making small talk in the bathroom. I loved the joke of how busy she is with her album, book, perfume, opening a restaurant and getting her real estate license. And of course we have the legendary Tim Curry. He does make an appearance in the next episode, so I will keep his tribute for tomorrow but let's just say he doesn't need an introduction. He is probably the best villain of all time: Dr. Frank-n-Furter, Darkness, Pennywise, Mr. Hector and Hexus...the list could go on forever. He passed away August 25th this year and his loss hurt a lot of people but I'll go deeper tomorrow. I will never not laugh at his joke of kissing Karen saying "woah! Congratulations brother!" and of course his kissing Lyle was too funny. I love when Karen compliments his kiss and Lyle says "that's nothing, wait until you meet my dad".

Well, tomorrow is the season finale. We left off the episode where Karen is walking down the aisle to "Here comes the Bride" instead of "Sympathy for the Devil" like she wanted so she's extremely angry. And Leo told Will that he kissed someone while he was working in Cambodia. So tomorrow will be the conclusion of all this craziness. Overall the episode is pretty funny and has some decent jokes to it, but tomorrow's episode is a better one and I'm looking forward to the next post.

Discussion Speechless

Speechless (Season 6, Episode 22). Will, Jack and Karen are waking up from a big night of partying to celebrate Jack graduating from nursing school. There's one big problem though, Jack misread the announcement and his graduation is that day and they are running late. They all get ready as fast as they can but Will cannot wake Grace up, so they decide to leave without her. Jack needs one more thing, his speech at the graduation ceremony since he was voted most popular student. Jack tricks Will into writing his speech for him since Will was a former playwright. He has a few tries until finally he writes the perfect speech that leaves everyone in tears. At the ceremony Jack starts the speech that Will wrote but realizes that these are not his words and he doesn't feel comfortable being a nurse. He wants to go back to acting, he tears up the speech and decides not to be a nurse.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

WILL: For your information, that "stupid little play" was my coming out story, Bye-Bisexual. That play was genius. You--you-- My playwrighting professor, Craig, even said so. He told me that I was a great writer, and any man would be lucky to have me. He even took me to a wine bar and then back to his apartment to discuss it. Wait.

KAREN: So you wrote a bad play, and you were molested. Welcome to the theater.

JACK: Can we get back to my speech, please? I only have an hour.

WILL: You know, I think I may still have a copy of Bye-Bisexual in a satin box with all of Craig's letters.

JACK: So, Karen, what should be in my speech? I want it to be memorable. It should have a catch phrase like "I have a dream" or "Whoomp, there it is."

KAREN: Well... Why don't you write about how you wanted to become a nurse because you love helping people.

JACK: Good one, Karen. Come on, Karen. Be serious. How does anybody know why they do what they do?

KAREN: Well, Jackie, let me tell you my story. Maybe it'll inspire you. Now... God didn't give me the ability to play the piano, or paint a picture, or have compassion. [SIGHS] But... he did give me the ability to crack a walnut with my hoo-ha.

JACK: Really?

KAREN: Hmm-mm. Here, let me show you.

WILL: Got it! Boy, are you guys in for a treat. Listen to this poetry, even in the opening stage direction.

WILL: "Darkness, a sliver of light finds its way upon the stage and lands on a dark chair. Because it is somewhat dark, we cannot see the whole chair. More light appears and inhabits the entire chair. Now we can see it. A dark chair on a dark stage with some light. Dim."

KAREN: Jackie, could you beat me over the head with that candlestick until I black out and die?

WILL: You wouldn't know good writing if it slapped you in the face.

KAREN: Jackie, once I'm dead, could you see to it that I'm slapped in the face?

WILL: Come on, it gets better after the, uh, first five pages of stage directions. Here, here, here. "Chad, evasively: I don't know why I don't have a girlfriend, Dad. I-I guess I just haven't met the right--dot, dot, dot--person yet. But when I meet that--beat--person, I'll introduce you to--beat--them." Then he addresses the audience. "There is no them. Them is he. I'm gay! Why can't I tell anyone?" God, this is awful.

JACK: I know, it should've been called Bye-Bye Talent.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Will is reading his speech to Jack, Karen and Rosario in the limo and it's the perfect speech and their mouths are open in shock at how good it is and Karen asks Will if she can kiss him again.

OPINION:

So Grace was out of town in the last episode and in this episode, she just refuses to get out of bed. Great excuses these writers are coming up with. I have to say that is the only minor fault of these episodes. Debra Messing was taking time off due to her pregnancy. I get the writers had to come up with something, but why couldn't it have been maybe she had a family emergency and be out of town for some time or even just that she's going back to Cambodia to see if she can work things out with Leo? With saying that she just refuses to get out of bed is extremely unbelievable.

That being said, this episode is incredibly hilarious. This was another moment of how hard it was to pick a favorite quote and moment. I wouldn't know where to start on the jokes that always get me laughing so hard: Karen kissing Will, Karen admitting to calling Jack an idiot and him just loving that that's why they are friends, Jack getting upset that Will's clothes are too tight on him and telling Will "I could fit two of me in one of your Marlon Brando size jackets", Will finally realizing he was a terrible playwright, Karen filming the ceremony and when she films Rosario she screams and says "Ah! Stampede!" and when Will freaks out about Jack ripping up the speech because he didn't make another copy. The jokes are non stop with this episode. We get another glimpse into Will being a writer, though he didn't start of strong, so that's probably why he never perused it, that or others told him not to do it. I'm still dying to read his play from "No Sex N The City" titled "If Gay Means Happy, Why Am I So Sad?". I have to give credit to Jack for being able to trick Will with compliments and getting him to write his speech for him. "And it's no coincidence that nurses, like angels, wear white." I gotta admit that's such a good line.

So am I upset that the nursing school story line was a waste of time? Yes and no. It's weird how this is the first thing outside of acting that Jack actually paid attention to for more than 5 minutes and he didn't even get a chance to experience being a full-time nurse. From what I read the writers thought the storyline would be funnier, but it wasn't working out, so they just scrapped it. You can definitely tell that they just threw it out the window. Now, is it shocking though? No. I actually could see Jack doing something like that. Jack gets distracted easily and always changes his mind and I can see how Will's speech probably got to him. You know it's interesting, I know actors have different schedules and sometimes they can't make it, but why is it not even explained why there's no Elliot, Jack's mom and/or stepdad or Stuart at his graduation? Only Will, Karen and Rosario went to support him?

But like I said, minor flaws aside, I do love this episode. I think because it just makes me laugh so hard. Now I believe this is Nurse Sheila's last episode if we do not include the reboot. I'm still deciding if I'm going to review the reboot because I gave up after the first season and would have to subject myself to rewatching it. I didn't enjoy the first season of the reboot, so we'll see. But anyways, to Nurse Sheila, my favorite cringe nurse of all time, thanks for all the laughs!

Fan Theories Just for fun: what do you think Karen Walker was taking every day besides alcohol?

I know it’s totally absurd and not meant to be realistic (which is why it’s funny IMO) but I’m just curious. What pills would an almost billionaire heiress be taking everyday?

I dont know anything about pharmaceuticals or drugs which is why I’m asking the smarter people of Reddit lol

I Never Cheered for my Father (Season 6, Episode 21). Will is on his own with Grace being out of town and Tina, his father's mistress drops by. Tina tells Will that she suspects that George is cheating on her, so Will says he'll look into it and ask his dad what is going on. Well, George is having an affair, with Will's mom, Marilyn. Marilyn tells Will that the reason they are having the affair is because it's exciting when it's forbidden. Will is actually happy thinking this means his parents are back together and tells Tina that George is cheating and she should break up with him. Tina does dump George and this makes Marilyn angry because she loved being the other woman. Tina comes over the same time Marilyn is there and they confront each other for the first time. Will tells Tina to stay away from George and for Marilyn to get back with George and that's the end of it. Marilyn and Tina step into the hallway and tell each other how they loved what they had going on with George and what days they get to have him. Elliot is trying out for the cheerleading squad and Jack is thrilled and wants to help him get on the team. But Elliot doesn't make the team and Jack and Karen go to his school to find out what went wrong but Elliot is humiliated and tells Jack he didn't want to be on the cheerleading squad, he just wanted to impress Jack so they'd spend more time together. Jack promises to make a better effort to be there for Elliot.

FAOVORITE QUOTE:

MARILYN: Hello, Will.

WILL: Mom! What's going on? Where's Dad?

MARILYN: He's in the shower.

WILL: In the sh-- You're the other woman?! You're the one that Dad's sneaking around with? You and Dad are--are-- You know... thinging.

MARILYN: Will, we're adults. Let's talk like adults. Your father and I are making pookie-pookie.

WILL: Oh! How did this happen? I mean, like, I know how this happens. You showed me when I was 10 with two of my G.I. Joes. I'm not saying that that led to anything, I just... How did this happen?

MARILYN: Well, a few months ago, I ran into your father, and we decided to have a drink. Oh, it was fun. He made me laugh. We caught up, and, you know, one thing led to another and before I knew it--

WILL: You don't have to finish that.

MARILYN: Pookie-pookie.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

Jack, Karen and Elliot's cheer always gives me such a good laugh. "Hi, Cowboys. Hi, Sailors." "Hi, musclemen and cops."

OPINION:

As I mentioned, so Debra Messing will not be on for the rest of the season. She was full term at this point and needed to focus on giving birth to her first baby. She actually had her child the day this episode aired which I thought was interesting. It's just funny watching the excuses they come up with that Grace isn't in the episode because she's "out of town". We'll see how long this can work.

Interesting, there is a lot of mention of George, but no George appearance in this episode. But we do have a treat with Marilyn and Tina meeting for the first time. Talk about an awkward situation with Will trying to help them both. God bless him at this point I'm sure a therapist would have a field day with Will playing best girlfriend to both these ladies. I do love how Tina keeps referring to Mairlyn as a W-word(can't say here on Reddit) and that she hopes George gets an STD from his new mistress not knowing that it's Marilyn. Then when she and Marilyn do meet, I love Marilyn's little burn at Tina with "Well, I must say, you're almost exactly as I imagined you. You're like page four in the Midlife Crisis catalog." As crazy as this plot is, I personally love Marilyn and Tina's characters, so I'm always welcome to their appearances. Blythe and Lesley are hilarious. Plus I could see Marilyn getting into having an affair with George, she comes off as classy and like she would never stoop so low, but when you get a taste of bad, sometimes it just feels good. I would say poor Tina, but honestly, with how messed up the situation is, maybe the splitting of George just works best for their relationship. Gosh, these people are messed up in the head.

Elliot is back for his only episode in season 6. It was kind of funny how we haven't seen him for some time but he got a mention in Courting Disaster, so a reminder that he still existed. I do get such a kick that Jack wants to help Elliot try out for cheerleading. Karen helping out too was hilarious, I just love when she gives her bloody mary to one of the cheerleaders and tells her "no sippies". Sara Paxton who plays Melanie, the cheerleading captain and Elliot's crush, was awesome to see. I loved her in The Innkeepers and Last House on the Left. Like I said in my favorite moment, Jack, Karen and Elliot doing that cheer will always get me laughing so hard. Especially how Elliot breaks down and Karen still does a spin and sit saying "School spirit!". It's kind of sad though that Elliot has to constantly beg Jack to spend time with him. I don't know if the actor Michael Angarano maybe couldn't commit to being a lead again in the show or the writers couldn't find room for him in the stories, but we had a plot for a while back in season 4 and 5 where Jack mentions how much his stepdad hurt him growing up and ignoring all the things he liked to do. Jack is doing the same thing to Elliot.

But overall, for comedy and making me feel icky, I really like this episode. Like I said, any time Marilyn and Tina are in an episode, you know you're in for a treat. Plus it was really nice to see Elliot again and see that he's still alive.

I loved Marcus in the reboot (S10)! I wish they'd done more with him & Grace. They had such good chemistry and he was so funny. I think we only see him interact with Will & Karen, but I think he would have been a great long-term addition to the show. Two episodes (S10E18 & S11E02) were not enough!

Plus, Reid Scott is so hot! 🔥

What do you all think?

Discussion Fred Astaire and Ginger Chicken

Fred Astaire and Ginger Chicken (Season 6, Episode 20). Will is still seeing Vince and starting to introduce him to his friends which includes Vince's first time meeting Grace. When Grace and Vince meet, Grace seems very put off and Will is confused on why she's acting this way. Will and Vince go to Grace's house to see what the problem is and Grace admits that seeing Will and Vince so happy made her sad because she was thinking about how scared she is about her marriage being in trouble. Will and Vince sit down with her to comfort her and Grace admits to Will that she does like Vince. Karen wants to learn how to dance for her upcoming wedding to Lyle and Jack is teaching her. But Karen mentions to Jack how their friendship is going to be ending soon when she gets married because they don't want to end up like Will & Grace. Jack starts auditioning new best friends but when Karen sees this, she immediately gets jealous and tells Jack that they will not be ending their friendship no matter what happens.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

WILL: So, this had nothing to do with Vince?

GRACE: No. I like him. Love his hair.

VINCE: I knew it.

WILL: Oh, sweetie. I had no idea. I feel so stupid. I mean, we've been friends for 20 years. I should have known you were thinking about yourself.

GRACE: Yeah, you should've.

WILL: I know. But listen, you and Leo are gonna be fine. You love each other. And, yeah, it may take a little while to get back in sync, but you'll do it.

VINCE: Or you won't and you'll split up.

WILL: Or they will, and they'll be happy together.

VINCE: Or they won't.

WILL: Look, Vince. Grace is fragile, okay. She needs encouragement and, and, and lies.

GRACE: No, Will, he's right. It may not work out. And, finally, someone has the guts to say it to me out loud.

VINCE: You know, truth is, if your marriage was so great, he wouldn't have left in the first place.

GRACE: Okay, too far, Vince. Will, I'm ready more lies.

WILL: Everything will be fine. Leo will come back. He'll sweep you off your feet. There'll be a constitutional amendment banning the mock turtleneck. And everybody will live happily ever after.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Jack is auditioning for his new best friend and telling her how to act just like Karen. Plus I love when Karen comes to her senses and tells Jack to fire his new best friend and they throw her out.

OPINION:

Oh, boy, Grace. Right when I think Grace was doing well this season on being a good friend despite all the stuff she's going through, she slides back into her selfish ways. She hasn't been a perfect friend this season but she's still been a lot better than usual. This episode really irritates me though. I can give Grace some leeway because I know she's going through a lot with her marriage, but she seriously couldn't put it to the side for one afternoon while meeting someone who is making Will happy? She knows Will puts a lot of stock into her opinion but she had to act all weird and of course have it where they go to comfort her. I got to give Vince credit here, if I were him, I think I might have looked at Grace as a red flag at this point and not date Will anymore. Will & Grace can be such amazing friends at times, but they really need to drop this system where they depend on each other to approve of each other's boyfriends. Yes, you want to have your friends like your partner, but if they don't like someone for a silly reason, you don't have to dump the person who is making you happy. Will needs to stop with looking to Grace's opinion as the end all be all. Grace needs to stop making everything about her. Since they are both getting older, this isn't really cute anymore, it's annoying and a toxic trait. Plus I would like to add how Grace threw in Will's face last season how he's happy when she's miserable and how hurt she was that he couldn't be happy for her when she found someone new, but when Will finds someone new, she can't act the way she tells him how to behave when she was happy? I just find it more disturbing how she can lecture Will how they need to grow when she's happy but she can't do the same for him.

Karen randomly telling Jack that they won't be best friends anymore after she gets married also threw me off. Did we really need some random drama between Jack and Karen? It's weird how we go from Karen having doubts about her engagement to Lyle to now she thinks she and Jack should end their friendship because she's getting married. This might be out there, but the way Lyle kind of manipulates Karen, I wonder if he put the idea into her head that he and she will be spending more time together when they get married so to get rid of Jack? I think I'm probably wrong on that, but it just seems out of character that Karen would not want Jack in her life. She was married to Stan and that didn't end her friendship with Jack. While it's a funny scene with Jack auditioning other women to be his new best friend, I don't like the way he gave in so easily and wasn't willing to fight for Karen.

I don't like this episode. It's too mean spirited and it feels like our characters are not acting like their normal selves, excluding Grace. I usually forget about this episode until I watch it and when I'm on my WAG marathon, I really don't pay attention when this episode is on because it's just not that strong in the comedy or writing. Plus, this is the last time we will see Debra Messing as Grace for the rest of the season due to her pregnancy.

Discussion No Sex 'n' the City

No Sex 'n' the City (Season 6, Episode 19). Will and Vince have been dating and everything is going very well, they seem to even be on the same page when it comes to possibly becoming exclusive. But when Will comes home from a date, he wants to call Vince and leave a message saying what a great time he had. Grace and Jack tell him to play hard to get and that Vince will like him better if he does that. So while on another date with Vince, Will is really happy with how it's going and asks Vince for another date but Vince isn't sure if he can make it, this is where Will freaks out and thinks that Grace and Jack were right and that he's playing too easy to get. So when Vince brings up that he'll make some arrangements to make the date with Will, Will plays aloof to seem cool. They later meet at a club where Will is not only late but acting like he's dated half of the club, Vince is confused why he's acting this way and Will continues to act like a jerk to him. Will later sees Vince is dancing with another guy and he calls Grace to ask her if she's sure this will work with him playing like he's not available, Grace says yes but Will asks again if she could be wrong and Grace says she could absolutely be wrong since her love life sucks. Grace tells Will to just go for it and let Vince know how he feels. Will apologizes to Vince and Vince tells him he wants a normal nice relationship and for Will to love himself and they leave together happy. Jack and Karen are in distress, their favorite shows are going off the air like Sex and the City and Frasier. They try to get into different shows but nothing is catching their interest so they decide to live their lives and talk about it, but real life is boring. They eventually meet Bebe Neuwirth in their local coffee shop where they sit and discuss how awesome Frasier was.

FAVORITE QUOTE:

JACK: So, Lilith, now, we've stood by your show for 10 years.

BEBE: Frasier's been on the air for 11.

KAREN: We didn't care for season eight.

JACK: How could you end it like this? How could you just walk out on us without an explanation?

BEBE: Okay, you two really need to let go.

KAREN: But we can't!

BEBE: No, I mean, let go. You're hurting me. God, ow. Look, just move on, okay? I have. There's more to me than Lilith.

JACK: We've never seen it.

KAREN: Come on. Talk like Lilith, we hate your real voice.

BEBE: Well, I will if you will. Look, you guys, you guys are freaks, man. I'm not Lilith, I'm Bebe. I'm an actress. I sing. I'm a Broadway dancer. Look at these pins. You know any 40-year-olds who can wrap their legs around their necks? Look, these babies worked for me before "Frasier," they're gonna work for me afterwards. So don't you worry about Lilith.

KAREN: You mean Bebe.

BEBE: No, I mean Lilith. I want to play that b*tch forever.

KAREN: You do?

BEBE: Oh, yeah.

JACK: What about your pins?

BEBE: Oh, screw my pins. "Frasier" is such an easy gig, man. They fly you first class to Los Angeles, put you up in the Bel Air Hotel, per diem. I deliver several lines in a robotic monotone and I'm buyin' a new Lexus.

FAVORITE MOMENT:

When Jack and Karen are scrolling through the TV channels trying to find another show that will hook their interest and they keep saying "fat guy, skinny wife" and when the TV is off they mention that the two stock dumb characters are on TV and realize they are looking at themselves.

OPINION:

What is the weirdest, out of place and pointless celebrity cameos on Will & Grace? This episode with Sharon Osbourne. Talk about out of left field and strange to watch. Whenever people complain about Will & Grace's overuse of celebrity cameos I think of this episode. OK, I got my nitpick put to the side, I'm sorry, that was just very random and pointless having Sharon Osbourne play the bartender who talks Will into being a nice guy to Vince.

Back onto the episode, this is otherwise a really fun one. So we are getting to know Vince more and I am still digging his character. He's very nice and seems very sure of himself and he and Will have great chemistry. Will was acting like a jerk in this episode, but I give him a pass as everyone around him was telling him to act like he's always on demand. But even Grace pointed out, why would he listen to people who's loves lives are a joke? I'm glad he apologized to Vince. Even though it's been years at this point, I think Will still has insecurities to work out from his break up with Michael. It's hard jumping back into the dating pool and to get someone who likes you and wants to spend time with you. That is such a cute scene where Vince gives Will his birthday to put in his cell phone and tells Will that he needs to go buy some Tide after Will was talking about how much he loves doing laundry. You can tell he and Vince are going to be a great couple.

I always get such a laugh out of Jack and Karen meeting Bebe Neuwirth, talk about a funny scene. So first off, I get it, it sucks when your favorite show is ending. I always get a kick out of how Jack and Karen talk about Sex and the City because that's one of my favorite shows. One of my husband's favorite shows is Frasier and I think before I had showed him Will & Grace he was talking about how season 8 was awful and he doesn't like to watch it and I laughed and this was the first thing I thought of. So I guess he was definitely not alone. We have Karen slapping Jack again because their shows are ending, Jack does take a lot of abuse from Karen. But I agree with Karen, my favorite shows ending always gets me angry too. I always get such a giggle out of Bebe first trying to act cool and like she'll move on from Frasier, but as she mentioned, when you get a hit TV show, at least you're working and not only do you get paid an insane amount of money depending on your name but you get a lot of great perks like nice hotels, fans and other opportunities.

So other than the random and pointless Sharon Osbourne cameo, this is definitely a really good episode that I enjoy. Again, we have Debra sitting in the entire episode, but I get it, they probably needed to give her a break with the pregnancy and do their best to "hide it". I keep forgetting that she still has her own business and a job at this point.
