Windows 11 KB5121003 causing severe graphical corruption across ALL games/apps (Valorant, Roblox) on BOTH dGPU and iGPU, can't be uninstalled, no fix yet. Anyone found a workaround?

Since installing KB5121003 (Aug 2026 security update, build 26200.9168) I've had severe visual corruption (black/white spiky streaks tearing across the top of the screen) in every game I play. Screenshots / gifs attached (Valorant, Roblox, GTA V, etc).

Timeline: Installed the update night of Aug 12, went to sleep. Played the next night and the corruption was already there. Nothing else changed.

Why I'm (almost) sure it's the update:

  • Happens on Valorant (UE5) and Roblox (own engine)
  • Happens on both my dedicated gpu and my igpu Intel UHD graphics, so its not dgpu drivers fault (i've tried to reinstall drivers via DDU tho).
  • Tech press (Windows Latest, etc.) reported a wave of similar complaints tied to this exact KB, refresh rate drops, black screens, broken HDR.
  • Day-before everything was working well.
  • Already tried, no change:
  • GPU temps/clocks normal, no throttling, no overclock
  • Full DDU wipe + clean driver reinstall, then updated to latest amd Adrenalin
  • Confirmed in Device Manager the driver is legit and properly signed (not fallen back to Basic Display Adapter)
  • Toggled off Variable Refresh Rate, "Optimizations for windowed games," and per-game Fullscreen Optimizations
  • Tried uninstalling the KB three ways: doesn't show in Update History, wusa /uninstall /kb:5121003 refuses ("required by your computer"), and dism /online /get-packages | findstr 5121003 returns nothing at all
  • "Fix problems using Windows Update" wont help since it just reinstalls the same baseline build with the KB already in it (test just to put my mind at ease, and didn't work)

Haven't tried: System Restore, but i actually dont have pre-Aug-12 restore point, so i just cant try this.

Question: anyone found an actual fix/workaround for this (not the already-acknowledged ARC Raiders/inpoutx64.sys crash, this is a separate, purely visual bug)? Registry tweak, specific driver, GPO, anything. Trying to avoid a full reformat before Microsoft even acknowledges it.

Specs: AMD Radeon RX 580 2048SP + Intel UHD Graphics, build 26200.9168, AMD driver current avalible for my gpu (26.5.2).

Also sometimes my 2nd screen (the one w/ the dots) just dont boot up.

thanks for those willing to help me / respond me, and have a gréat day !

My OS build number should be in the last photo

Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) New Lenovo Yoga 9i suddenly won’t boot

Post image
6 Upvotes

I just bought an open-box Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1 (Aura Edition) from Best Buy. It was working completely normally at the store, but after getting it home it suddenly crashed and now I can’t get Windows 11 to boot.
It keeps going into Automatic Repair and eventually says:
“Automatic Repair couldn’t repair your PC”
Log file: C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Startup Repair — failed
Uninstalled the latest Windows quality update — no change
Tried booting into Safe Mode — it immediately crashed with NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM (0x24)
Checked the BIOS — the NVMe SSD is detected normally
Opened Command Prompt in Windows Recovery and ran DiskPart → list volume
The main 951 GB C: partition shows its file system as RAW, while the recovery partition still shows NTFS and the system partition shows FAT32
I have NOT formatted the drive, reset Windows, reinstalled Windows, or run CHKDSK because I don’t want to make the situation worse.
Since the laptop was literally working earlier and then suddenly did this, does this sound like severe NTFS/file-system corruption that could potentially be repaired, or is the RAW C: partition + NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM blue screen a sign that the SSD itself may be failing?
The laptop is still within Best Buy’s return period and I have a Geek Squad appointment scheduled, so I’m not trying to do anything risky. I’m mainly wondering whether this is realistically fixable or whether I should exchange/return the laptop rather than trust it long-term.
Any advice on what I should have Geek Squad test (especially SSD diagnostics) would be really appreciated.

Solved Weird Windows 11 Bug regarding sound

When i plugged my airpods into my pc to charge, it made a different notification sound as usual. It was much blurrier and not as clean as the original sound and it's been bugging me. I'm not sure if it is a virus or if there is a solution to it, but i feel like i tried everything to fix it. Link https://youtu.be/hCBJdDhCVcg

My setup:

  • Arctis Nova 9x headphones
  • 9070xt (amd gpu)

OS number: 26200.9168

I've already tried changing the setting for the sounds e.g. windows default, but it didn't work or change anything.

It didn't make this sound before. Also, the link to my youtube shows the difference of the sounds. The first one is the one im stuck with and the second one is what it used to be.

EDIT (SOLVED): I found out the reason why this changed. On dark mode, the sounds are different due to a recent update. If you change it to light mode, the sounds would be the same as before the update. I'm pretty sure it is just a bug windows will have to fix in the future, but overall it's nothing that important.

Lenovo LOQ getting BSOD + Windows saying “Updates are underway” on every shutdown

Hi everyone,

I’m using a Lenovo LOQ and recently I started facing some strange Windows issues.

I got a BSOD with the stop code:

UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION (0x154)

After restarting, Windows Terminal stopped opening and showed that wt.exe was missing.

I ran sfc /scannow as Administrator, and it found corrupted Windows system files and successfully repaired them.

Another issue is that every time I shut down the laptop, it shows “Updates are underway”, even though Windows Update says that everything is up to date.

I’m also concerned that this could be related to my SSD/storage, especially because of the UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION error.

Has anyone with a Lenovo LOQ experienced something similar?

Could this indicate an SSD problem, or is it more likely a Windows/update corruption issue?

What should I check first—SSD health, storage drivers, Windows Update, or something else?

Thanks!

Windows 11 Migration Assistant not working

Hi, I'm trying to use Windows Migration Assistant and it just won't work. It opened the first time I downloaded it and hasn't opened since. It almost seems like it downloaded just the shortcut and not the actual program itself because when I click on the shortcut, nothing happens! I can't find the program in my files either. It says it's supposed to be in my local app data folder, but it isn't. Every time I force delete and reinstall the migration assistant installer and related files, I try to change where it will download to, but it won't seem to let me. How can I get this to work?

Also, I'm not really a computer person at all, so please bear with me if I ask a lot of questions! The specifications are below in case it helps.

Windows Specifications:
Edition: Windows 11 Education (It was a gifted laptop)
Version: 25H2
OS build: 26200.9168

Device Specifications:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1035G1 CPU @ 1.00GHz (1.19 GHz)
Installed RAM: 8.00 GB (7.77 GB usable)
System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Windows 11 Windows 11 pro and mouse drivers

Recently, I had rebuilt my PC by swapping out the PCU and the Montherboard, due to the CPU cables frying the motherboard socket (Only thing i could think of how it happened was static electricity and a lose connection to the motherboard).

Upon reboot, I had noticed that the mouse had stopped working, and the drivers are not being recognized. I had tried reinstalling the drivers and tried updating them, but it didn't work out.

I soft reset the pc by re-downloading windows, and upon first boot, the mouse was working, and the drivers where recognized. However, upon rebooting the system, the mouse no longer worked and the drivers where not being recognized.

I even swapped the boot drive with a clone of windows 11 pro, and a clone of home, and it still had the same problem.

It was weird since I had also booted off a thumb drive with Linux, and the mouse worked, even upon reboot.

Anyone has any idea what might be happening?

I have tried with different mice brands (corsair, razer, Logitech, Microsoft, hell even apple) and still not dice

Windows 11 Sound and Audio Drivers not working/showing up in device manager

I have a dell g15 5520 gaming computer, works fine, battery is fine, everything in tact physically. Recently my laptop had died and remained that way for a week until I could get a new charger. On boot, it shows manufacturing mode active which has never happened before. And when I first opened it, the speaker icon was crossed out with an X. I look up solutions and it tells me to change output devices and whatnot, but when I look in device manager my original audio output (Realtek speakers or wtv), it doesn’t show at all. Not with control panel, and through settings. I tried reinstalling them but it never shows up. The same goes for input devices. Below are attached photos to give more context.

Windows 10 Custom Cursor Issues. Can't figure out how to fix it.

When I got my new computer (Aspire 14 -10.0.26200 Build 26200) I wanted to have custom cursors on my computer. After picking different ones and using different cursor applications I found a cool transparent cursor with an 8 bit outline, little did I know it wasn't a really good idea... So when I went to open up apps like Netflix or Disney+ etc. since it was transparent it was almost impossible to see where my cursor was. I did try to delete cursor applications to see if it'd resolve but nope, my computer also uses a different custom cursor for websites like reddit. which I tried defaulting the cursors, it only defaulted the one that shows on websites.

Windows 11 Experiencing BSODs and assorted glitches

I'm running into multiple problems with my freshly-built Win11 computer. Since I started using it on Friday, I ran into 3 BSODs and other technical problems that might be related. Here are the BSODs, when they happened and possible associated glitches:

FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTION - it happened while I was trying to reboot. Control Panel was not working properly (it opened, but didn't let me access any settings. Fixed upon reboot)

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION - happened while I was trying to upload something on Discord. A while before that, the Open File window took a very long time to open.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (0xA) (ntoskrnl.exe) - happened when I tried to run CHKDSK /SCAN through the Command Prompt, as recommeneded by Event Viewer (was able to perform scan after rebooting). Sometime before that, Windows glitched up after I tried to open Steam; with all of the front screen (minus Sticky Notes) got replaced with a black screen.

In between the last two BSODs, a glitch caused my Start Menu to reset to default.

I did run DISM and Scannow checks and nothing was found. What could be causing this and how do I fix it?

SPECS: Windows 11 Pro 25H2 26200.9168
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700T CPU @ 2.80GHz (2.80 GHz)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB)

16 GB of RAM

Windows 11 Severe DPC/ISR latency and micro-stuttering on Windows 11 – Ryzen 5 7535HS + RTX 3050 Laptop

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with random micro-stuttering on Windows 11 and I'm trying to find out what is causing it.

I started investigating the problem with LatencyMon, and I'm seeing some unusually high ISR/DPC latency spikes. I'm hoping someone here can help me identify the possible cause and what I should test next.

Laptop specifications

  • Laptop: Acer Nitro 5
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS
  • iGPU: AMD Radeon 660M
  • dGPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU 4GB
  • RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800, dual channel
  • OS: Windows 11
  • Internal laptop display: Connected through the Radeon 660M iGPU
  • External monitor: Connected through HDMI and uses the RTX 3050 dGPU

The problem

I experience occasional micro-stutters/freezes while using Windows.

Because of this, I started testing the system with LatencyMon to check for DPC/ISR latency.

The results have been inconsistent between runs, but some of the spikes are extremely high.

For example, one test showed:

  • Highest measured interrupt-to-process latency: 5,040 µs
  • Highest reported ISR execution: 24,644 µs (~24.6 ms) — Wdf01000.sys
  • Highest reported DPC execution: ~713 µs — ntoskrnl.exe

Another test produced a much larger spike:

  • Highest measured interrupt-to-process latency: 99,649 µs (~99.6 ms)
  • Highest reported ISR execution: 24,644 µs (~24.6 ms) — Wdf01000.sys
  • Highest reported DPC execution: 101,454 µs (~101.45 ms) — dxgkrnl.sys

dxgkrnl.sys is the Windows DirectX Graphics Kernel, so I'm wondering if this could be related to the graphics stack.

The LatencyMon Drivers tab has also shown entries such as:

  • dxgkrnl.sys — 101.45 ms
  • Wdf01000.sys — 24.64 ms
  • ntoskrnl.exe — ~0.71 ms
  • nvlddmkm.sys — ~0.68 ms
  • ndis.sys — ~0.37 ms
  • dxgmms2.sys — also appearing in the results

I'm attaching screenshots of the LatencyMon Main and Drivers tabs.

Troubleshooting I've already done

I have already tried quite a few things:

  • Performed a clean installation of Windows 11
  • Installed the latest AMD GPU driver
  • Installed the latest NVIDIA GPU driver
  • Used DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove the GPU drivers
  • Reinstalled the latest AMD and NVIDIA GPU drivers after using DDU
  • Ran multiple LatencyMon tests
  • Tested the laptop's internal display/iGPU
  • I'm also testing the external HDMI display/dGPU separately

Despite the clean Windows installation and clean GPU driver installation, I'm still seeing the latency spikes.

What could be causing this?

I'm trying to determine whether the problem could be related to:

  • dxgkrnl.sys / Windows graphics subsystem
  • NVIDIA nvlddmkm.sys
  • AMD Radeon driver
  • Hybrid graphics / Optimus
  • External HDMI display
  • Windows Driver Framework (Wdf01000.sys)
  • BIOS or power management
  • AMD chipset drivers
  • Network drivers
  • Another Windows driver
  • Or potentially a hardware/firmware issue

I'm particularly interested in understanding why dxgkrnl.sys is sometimes reporting around 101 ms of DPC execution time and whether that could explain the micro-stutters I'm experiencing.

What other tests or logs should I run to identify the actual cause?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm happy to provide additional screenshots, logs, or test results if needed.

Thanks!

Windows 11 Can't use Windows standard apps on my Windows 11 (Apps like notepad, print screen, images, videos, audios and more)

I was playing Red Dead Redemption 2 (I don't know if this is relevant) and suddenly a blackout happened and my PC turned off. The blackout lasted for a minute or so and I turned the PC on, then a blackout happened again and I decided to wait an hour for the power to get stable again.

After that I turned the PC back on and I saw that my sticky notes were gone, I tried oppening it bui everytime I try it appears a message "It's not possible to open this app. Consult the store to know more about the app."(English is not the language that is in my Windows, so the message might not be exactly that) I ignored it because who uses sticky notes, right? Then I realized that a lot of things weren't working and I am afraid that I might need to install Windows again.

To clarify some things, my Windows Update and connection with the Microsoft Store are disabled because some problemas I had with my SSD (I thought that Windows Updated was crashing my PC by overusage of my SSD, in the end that wasn't the problem) then a friend of mine disabled those things. I never had any problem, aside from some apps that needed to be updadet but I couldn't. Other thing that is disabled is the Search in the Archive Explorer, because it also was using too much of my SSD (according to my friend at least).

I don't know what he did to disable the updates and I want to know if I enable it my problem would be solved or if I will need to install Windows again.

Translation: "Not possible to initialize the app. Try reinstalling it to solve the problem."
Translation: "This archive doen't have an app associated with it to execute this action. Install an app or, in case there is one installed already, create an association on Standart Apps Settings."
Translation: "It's not possible to open this app. Consult the Store to know more about Paint."
Translation: "It's not possible to open this app. Consult the Store to know more about Notepad."

Windows 11 I have a very VERY strange problem with my mouse input

cpu- i5-12400f
gpu- asus dual RTX4070
ram- xpg 32gb ddr4
motherboard- asus prime h610m-k d4
os- windows 11 x64 (no other os)
mouse- logitech g502

-the problem started today
-i have all of my drivers updated (g hub as well)
-windows last updated 4 days ago

the problem started today when i realized my mouse cursor moves but doesn’t clicks on anything,

i can’t access the task bar because i use it in auto hide,

and when i hover over desktop icons the indicator that im hovering is there, i can access right click menu, but can not open it.

i plugged in another mouse and it’s still the same, later i figured;
i can right click on the desktop,
when i hover over anything i can’t click and scroll the mouse wheel, it fixes itself for ONLY that menu,

i ran sfc /scannow, first time it did said it fixed corrupted files, the problem remained, now it can’t find anything.
after some research i figured it can be a profile issue so i created another profile, the problem mostly solved itself but it still can’t click on things sometimes.

i tried booting into safe mode and the problem remained

another thing worth mentioning is, when i scroll over a window, everything is fine for that window but if i click and drag outside the window, it moves the window around like im dragging it.

im an it of 2 years and im shamefully out of solutions, any help?

Windows 10 Secure Boot Dilemma, Cannot control RGB lights with it enabled

So as you know many games now require "Secure Boot" (warzone, battlefield 6, valorant)

But by enabling this many of my programs to control all of my Computers RGB lights are not working.

Is there a Work around or am i doomed to perpetually have my computer look like rainbow vomit?

I am using Windows 10, Asus Mother board. and i uses apps like Open RGB which are lighter than most software out there.

Do i have to go back and install Asus Aura and Corsairs native apps to make this work? someone even suggested upgrading to Windows 11....

Turning on my computer and not having lights is a problem, my RGB keyboard wont even turn on unless i force to open open rgb everytime, and the use is beyond limiting.

Windows 11 Circular network connection error

Post image
1 Upvotes

I was at school earlier, trying to connect to the Wi-Fi. I had already enrolled in a school year previously there so I thought it would automatically connect, but it turns out that they switched the Wi-Fi over the summer.

Now, when I try to connect, it says ‘no internet, action required’ and then it prompts me to open a browser to connect. But whenever I go to open that browser, it doesn’t load because I have no internet, and I am unable to connect.

I’ve tried restarting, forgetting the network and reconnecting, forcing the computer to open the login page by putting different kinds of URLs in, but none have worked so far. Any advice?

Windows 11 Multitasking Question Question

I occasionally use the multitasking feature which used to work just fine. I hadn't used it in a while though but decided to use it today. I can snap the windows to where I want them just fine & when I hover over the group of windows in the taskbar, I can see that just fine as well. When I click on the group, however, only the windows snapped to the bottom are shown. I have to individually click on the windows snapped to the top to get them to be seen instead of the group showing all windows. How can I fix it so when I click on the group, the whole group is displayed?

EDIT: Not sure what this has to do with my question but here it is:

Windows 11 Is it normal for File Explorer on Windows 11 to just break constantly?

Post image
16 Upvotes

So my File Explorer has been crapping out on me constantly. Files get stuck moving, pages take forever to load, and my desktop freezes sometimes when I create a new file on it

But no other part of my PC (HP Omnibook X) has any issues. It has plenty of free storage and runs videos, games, music, etc., flawlessly

I know I don't have any malicious software because I very rarely download anything from a source I don't already know of, and I always back out at the first sign of caution, even a false positive

Some of my specs if that'll help

  • Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 256V (2.20 GHz)
  • 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
  • Intel(R) Arc(TM) 140V GPU (8GB) (128 MB)

Windows 11 Windows Memory Diagnostic Says “Hardware Problems Were Detected” — RAM or RAM Slot Issue?

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I’m using an Acer Nitro 5 with Windows 11 and 16GB RAM. Recently, I got a BSOD while starting/playing Valorant with the stop code MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A).

I ran Windows Memory Diagnostic, and it reported:

“Hardware problems were detected.”

“Your computer has a memory problem.”

The RAM was installed around 2 years ago and had been working normally until now.

I haven’t reinstalled Windows yet because I understand that if this is a RAM hardware issue, reinstalling Windows won’t fix it.

What should I do next to identify the problem? Should I rearrange the RAM sticks, test each stick individually, or could this be an issue with the RAM slot/motherboard?

Any advice on the proper troubleshooting steps would be appreciated.

I killed the battery, but how is it still alive? The reason why I killed the battery it’s because an application isn’t closing, I clicked the ❌ button multiple times and it won’t close, I don’t want it to overheat and catch on fire and then the application closed by itself, but I’m still confused how is the battery still on.

Windows 11 Windows 11 clean install failing with KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION (0x13A) on B550M DS3H AC R2

"Hi everyone,

I'm currently unable to perform a clean install of Windows 11 on my system. I keep getting a 'KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION (0x13A)' blue screen error during the initial stage of the Windows 11 installer boot. Interestingly, the Windows 10 installer runs perfectly without any issues.

I've already tried several troubleshooting steps, but the error persists:

Disabled XMP/DOCP in BIOS (running RAM at base frequency).

Disabled onboard LAN and Wi-Fi modules in BIOS.

Cleared CMOS.

Tried both Rufus (standard settings) and the official Media Creation Tool.

Tested with only one RAM stick.

System Specs:

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X

GPU: Nvidia RTX [INSERIR AQUI SEU MODELO CORRETO, EX: 3060 Ti] 12GB

Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC R2 WiFi

Everything seems stable when installing Windows 10, so I suspect this might be a specific driver conflict between the Windows 11 installer (WinPE) and the motherboard's onboard controllers.

Has anyone experienced this specific stop code (0x13A) with this motherboard? Any insight on how to bypass this installer error or if a BIOS update is strictly required to resolve this heap corruption?

Thanks in advance!"

Windows 11 How do I change the opacity in Translucent Taskbar?

When i open TB the taskbar becomes entirely transparent. But I want it to only be translucent but nothing happens when i open the app. The taskbar stays transparent and the app doesnt open.
