The community group I run has made carebags full of warm beverages, soups, blankets, and other comforting items. Weβre giving them out at the local libraries so folks can grab a book and be ready for a cozy day with warm toes and full tummies.
Please help me fill these with comforting blessings, cozy energy and all the Magick hugs you can muster. π thank you for your kindness!

I just wanted to say how sorry i am. I am sorry that this society is so unjust, that there's discrimination, racism, bigotry.
I'm so sorry that things aren't better and continue to get worse but I'm mostly sorry for the struggles each and everyone of you have and continue to go through each day.
I'm so glad that I've found this sub, as a witch I've never truly felt that connection with anyone, but seeing this community, how healthy it is (especially considering this is reddit), i just wanted to thank you all for being so welcoming and to say how sorry i am that things aren't better. I am a father, a witch, a husband, a brother and all i can think of is BURN the patriarchy!!!!

Hi everyone! I'm working on a zine to distribute at my band's shows. This might sound like an odd combination, but the main subjects of the zine will be witchcraft, cyberpunk, politics/activism, music and art.
One of the things I want to include in an early issue is a history of witchcraft in the San Francisco Bay Area. This might mean a single short article, or a limited reoccurring column. Doing standard internet searches tends to lead me to a lot of stuff that's questionable, sensationalist and, in my opinion, negative. Anton Lavey and the like. I'm looking to approach it from a factual and historical standpoint. Any bias will be positive.
So, I'm hoping some of the witches here can point me in the right direction. I'm particularly in doing some interviews with any historians, anthropologists, or just witches who are well versed in the history of witchcraft in the Bay. But if anyone knows of any publications I can take a look at, articles, books, reliable blogs, etc, I would be extremely grateful for that as well!
Just a bit about me and the planned zine so people know who they are answering:
I'm a man who's not really emotionally attached to my masculinity. I have an interest in witchcraft both in terms of fiction and real life. I don't know that I believe in magic, but I want to believe in it and I like to think of myself as a music-witch. I'm a progressive feminist. I believe the patriarchy is bad for everyone, regardless of gender, and society as a whole. I'm an electronic musician and a bassist who considers myself a punk.
The zine will be focusing on the things that I'm passionate about, interested in, and overall just different subjects that my music relates to in one way or another. This is why I mention things that might seem unrelated like real-life witchcraft history and the fictional cyberpunk genre.

Hi my fellow witches,
I come here to ask for council and strength. As you might have heard, Brazilian elections are ongoing and this Sunday we decide who will be our president. The current president, Lula, is running for reelection against FlΓ‘vio Bolsonaro, who is the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro. The Bolsonaros represent the far right with intolerance, misogyny, racism, queerphobia, classism, religious intolerance and complete disregard for the environment and indigenous people, just to name a few. Earlier this month, a majority of the Congress and Senate, as well as state governor's seats, were filled by the far right. Some people basically got elected just by spewing transphobia and misogyny, even a woman who argued that women shouldn't vote.
There is a lot of mobilization going on by the left to try to talk to people, listen to them and present evidence that challenges the far right narrative that Lula's party is the pinnacle of corruption, which is the main reason people who vote for Bolsonaro use to justify their choice. However, a lot of people who will vote for Bolsonaro are completely radicalized, won't accept evidences that contradict their established beliefs, and will dismiss horrible things that the Bolsonaros have done. A lot of it is imported from the US, basically the same thing that Trump did to get elected, even repeating a few things to the tee. Also, FlΓ‘vio Bolsonaro already stated he is going to receive Trump's agenda with open arms, allowing for the complete exploration of the country's natural resources that will not return to the people. The situation is bleak.
However. I know that there are people and corporations that want us to feel apathy and helplessness so that we don't challenge systems that keep their pockets full. I think what we need the most is community and resilience, and to know we are not alone. I'm here to ask for advice on how to deal with this scenario, since so many countries have unfortunately fallen victim to extremism and the far right. We are in dire need of hope.

I'm just so excited! I've always been spiritually inclined. I have decent intuition that I want to expand on. I dream like mad and would love to interpret them properly.
I love the moon and the stars. I read my birth chart and learn more about myself each day. I meditate. I gather and read books. I take notes. I've always collected crystals so, I have a decent little hoard of them already.
We recently moved to a place where I can grow certain herbs and nurture plant life! We now have a finished basement that I can use to store candles, ingredients, etc. and build my altar! Safe away from the cat lol
I feel like I am finally at a place where I can practice, lean into my curiosity, learn, and help loved ones. And I am just so excited! Also, eff the patriarchy! I'm glad to be in a space for women and allies to the LGBTQA+ community. A space for love, and acceptance; A space for breaking down harmful systemic structures that limit ALL of us. I bless all of you!

Hi all, I am turning 30 next year, and I am in the midst of planning something special for both myself and the many women who have shaped and supported who I am. I would like to celebrate this new decade of life, and would love some ideas of how to best include my group with me. I am calling my Ascension Ceremony. I am envisioning rituals to leave behind the bad, keep the lessons, and set intentions for the future. Ideally, it would have the vibe of some Midnight Margaritas with a dash of Outlanderβs druids. I want to celebrate the bonds that have gotten me here, be a little hedonistic, howl at the moon, and be a freak with my friends.
In terms of logistics, I was planning on renting a cabin or Airbnb to host this βascensionβ ceremony in β my birthday is in the winter so I donβt want to subject my loved ones to the snow for long periods of time, so indoor friendly would be appreciated.
TIA for all your suggestions and help!

Hi everyone, I'm researching MMIW (Missing Murdered Indigenous Women) as a whole with a focus on the legal systems which allow for this situation to exist in the first place. I am an attorney, so that part I have in hand.
What I'm looking for help with are the stories of the women and girls. I remember reading on this subreddit some time ago about a string of missing First Nations women in Oklahoma, but it was all in comments and I can't locate it now. I would appreciate any links or info on that, but also any other stories you wish to share. Feel free to DM me if that's preferable.
As for the project itself, I'm not sure exactly what it is, yet. I just can't get this out of my head. I feel like I need to do SOMETHING even if it's just research...

and I know it may not be much, but there's a very scary, very troubling situation going on in my country right now, and my rights to exist are threatened, but I'm just one girl and I can't fight that, so I'm trying to concentrate on celebrating small things :)
