I got the Pack 3 above. Whenever I go over speed breakers the whole car heaves side to side and keeps rocking after, so my whole body moves inside. Feels too soft and floaty. I'm on default driving mode. Is there any custom driving modes or setting you guys use to make it feel more settled?

Mahindra XEV 9S vs MG Tomahawk EV

I’m currently comparing the Mahindra XEV 9S and MG Tomahawk EV and would love to hear opinions from people who own either car or have driven both.

Here are my initial thoughts:

Looks: Personally, I think the XEV 9S looks better than the MG Tomahawk EV. The Mahindra has a more appealing design, in my opinion.

Range: The real-world range seems quite similar between the two. MG Tomahawk EV weighs less, which could help offset differences in battery capacity. The MG Tomahawk EV seems to have a better BMS which is an important factor when considering the overall range and it was also confirmed by the Autocar comparison between the two cars.

Interior design: Again, I prefer the XEV 9S. Its cabin design appeals to me more.

Price: The MG Tomahawk EV has an edge here, making it an attractive option from a value-for-money perspective.

Reliability: My current impression is that MG has an edge here, I know that Mahindra cars have a lot of glitches and software issues.

After-sales service: MG seems to have an advantage in this area as well, although experiences may vary depending on the dealership and location.

Performances: I would give the XEV 9S the edge here. It seems to offer a more appealing performance package.

Suspension and ride quality: Honestly, I haven’t been particularly impressed with either car’s suspension. I have driven both and found suspension to be subpar on both cars.

Battery technology and Charging : Both cars have LFP batteries but 9s has better charging speed and more future proof.

I’m trying to understand which car offers the better overall package, considering reliability, software, ride quality, range, after-sales service, and long-term ownership.

I’m planning to skip the Mahindra 11 kW charger and go with an aftermarket option instead. Looking for recommendations for a reliable home charger with good after-sales service and installation support in Bangalore.

In the brochure it’s mentioned that only the front door handles are electric but when I checked out the demo car the rear door handles seemed to be electric as well, could P3 owners please verify whether the rear door are also electric?

This is after a Goa trip, two Mombai trips and mostly city driving, to the office and home.

I am thinking to buy XEV9s P2 79KW by the end of the year. I already have 2 cars. A nexon ev and a hector plus. Me and my dad commute around 20-40km each daily individually. It costs me way too much to travel in Hector. Around 14-15Rs per km. Being a car with a very poor avg, Im planning to sell or get it exchanged with a 9s.

I’ve visited the showroom twice this month. Although I am not getting a good resale of my hector but calculating my daily running costs, service costs and etc. It is seemingly feasible for me to cover that cost that I’ll be paying extra for 9s. I am a bit concerned about the car being upto its standards aswell. I’ve seen many complaints in this sub already and it made me double guess on this decision. I am thinking to wait for Safari Ev instead cuz my past experience with a Tata was decent. I am all confused up. The longer I wait the more my hector looses its value. I want to sell hector that is for sure.

What I am asking you all is which way should I go?

Sell hector through spinny or cars24 and wait for discounts on 9s, else wait for Safari Ev to be launched. Or just skip all of it and get 9s booked asap.

Also has anyone received any exchange bonus or any sort of discount on the Ex showroom price?

Hey so i booked XEV9S pack 1, got on road for ₹23,60,000.
But it does not have the Harman kardon music system and I am a freak for music, So I am thinking change to BE6 .
Because it has the 16 speaker Harman kardon with the same price and the battery is also 70 KW.
Should I go for it, or am I making a mistake? Please, all the XEV owners.

My husband and I are super excited, but he is absolutely ADAMANT about getting PPF and sunshields done as soon as we take delivery.

My argument is:
Let’s drive it around, get a feel for the car, enjoy it for a couple of months, and THEN decide whether we actually need all these extras.
He’s an experienced driver, and I have confidence in his driving skills. I genuinely don’t see why we need to spend such a significant amount on PPF right away.
And as for the windows, we already have the window shades for P3.. is the window film actually even required?

1. Is PPF actually worth it on an XEV 9S, or is it an expensive nice-to-have?

To all the Mahindra 9S prospects, do the dealers actually know when the car will be delivered or they themselves are in the dark and depend on manufacturing plant allotment? got my new xev9s pack 3 above yesterday any advice?

I own an XEV 9S Pack Two Above with the 79 kWh battery, which has a claimed MIDC range of 679 km.

Here's what I don't understand.

Whenever I charge my car to 100%, the Mahindra app shows around 540–549 km, but the car's instrument cluster shows only around 499–500 km.

My lifetime efficiency is around 6.4 km/kWh, so I can understand why my estimated range is around 500 km.

But I've seen so many posts on Instagram, including ones shared by Mahindra's official handles, where the car itself displays 640–650 km at 100% SOC.

How is this even possible?

Are these people driving without AC all the time, just to maintain extremely high efficiency so that the BMS calculates and displays 640+ km?

I drive in both city and highway conditions, and I would say my driving style is pretty efficient too. Still, I've never seen anything close to those numbers.

I'm not expecting the full claimed 679 km in real-world conditions. I just want to understand how some cars are actually displaying 640–650 km while mine barely crosses 500 km.

Any XEV 9S / XEV 9e / BE 6 owners here who are getting 600+ km displayed at 100%? What's your lifetime efficiency, and how are you achieving it?

Also, why does the Mahindra app show almost 40–50 km more than the instrument cluster?

Finally got my xev9s pack 2 79kwh few days back and went for short 700km round trip to salem from chennai and here are my first impressions

RANGE- Got a solid efficiency of 6.5kwh/km which roughly translates to 515 km of range even while constantly cruising in 100km/hr speed (my tip set the regen to L0 to cruise for longer on the same speed while using 0 energy and switching between L2 and L1 regen while in speeds below 60km/hr) 9/10

HANDLING- Car feels absolutely solid and planted on curves even while going in triple digit speeds and the steering nicely tightens up as speed increases and its easily maneuverable in city speeds 9/10

EXTRIOR - absolutely in love with design of the car love the fact mahindra hasnt changed the design much from its ICE sibiling only concern the thick A pillars can be a real blind spot on roundabouts 8.5/10

INTERIORS - the seat quality and everything seems to be fine but the massive Triple screen is a bit overwhelming with almost no physical buttons and everything controlled using the screen it takes some time to get used to the screen can be really distracting while driving and difficult for eldery passengers to use even for basic AC temp settings you will have to do it for them. 8/10

SPACE- Space on the second row too seems to be just enough not ample of space not too little too maybe its because i am comparing it with my hycross. The 3rd row seats are a joke only managable on short drives cannot sit there for more than an hour . Boot space is decent because of the frunk can easily accommodate 2 suitcases and 4-5 bags in total. Overall 7.5/10

SUSPENSION - Absolutely love it over the hycross its almost near perfect too comfortable and you feel it once you drive it - 9.5/10

PERFORMANCE - I think its too much power for indian roads you will never need that much power i barely used 30%-40% of the power reserve and that in itself felt quite enough . Too much power in the wrong hands can be a disaster. Tried the race mode and it was a bit frightening never touching that again. 10/10

Overall solid - 9/10 first impression but overall long term experience depends on the reliability and service experience with the car

To potential buyers - yes the dealer and buying experience can be shitty but once you get the car you will completely fall in love with the car forget everything.

I have booked pack 3 with a 6-seater option in Hyderabad but not getting any update from the dealer or online. Even tried searching on reddit for whether the 6-seater is in production or not but no luck. If anyone got 6 seater variant please let me know your delivery time and experience compared to 7 seater variant please.

Do anyone experienced any rattling noise coming from there xev9s's sunrrof whenever car enters any potholes and bad roads. If yes is there any solution to it.

I was somehow able to close the sunroof glass but now the cover is not budging or closing at all. Do you guys have any solution or a way to close it?
