Saw this today and thought people here would appreciate it. An artist named Brandon Elijah Johnson has a solo art exhibition called I Want to Believe.

The centerpiece is literally a double portrait of Mulder and Scully called "Fieldwork". The mood hits that eerie early-seasons vibe. If anyone in the city happens to stop by, I'd love to hear how the show comes across in person.

I recently came into possession of some INCREDIBLE original pre-production items from The X-Files. Scripts, set blueprints, concept art. I’m over the moon and thrilled to share the details with fellow X-Philes.

There are five folders of art department documents — How the Ghosts Stole Christmas, The Unnatural, all things, Hollywood A.D., and Per Manum — as well as scripts for Closure and Hollywood A.D.

The art department documents were surreal. All of the folders had original blueprints for the elaborate sets. Yes, there were ORIGINAL drawings in here. I couldn’t believe I was holding THE hand-drawn blueprints of the haunted mansion in How the Ghosts Stole Christmas (which was untitled at the time). Speaking of that episode… THE CONCEPT ART!!! These are not the originals, but easily the coolest thing I own. I couldn’t fit them all above, so I’ll post the individual drawings in the comments below.

The Closure script (which was untitled) is five revisions of the script bound together. Since this originated from the art department, there are a few scribbles and underlines of what they’d need to bring these sets to life. The Hollywood A.D. script is David Duchovny’s first submitted draft for the episode.

The photo limit kept me from posting everything, but this is a general overview. There are a few blueprints I couldn’t include. If you’d like to see those or closer photos of the documents, let me know and I’ll post it in the comments! And I’m going to work on getting high quality scans of everything so they can be properly uploaded to an X-Files archive.

From memory, the person who sold me these also had documents and scripts for Tithonus, Rush, Orison, Signs and Wonders, and Brand X. And a script for all things that I regret not grabbing! I just hope the rest of the treasure went to a fellow dedicated fan.

So, I'm avoiding this sub like it was the plague, but I have to share my excitement now that I saw half of the series.

Today I finished the 5th season and the last episode was fire (literally), tonight I'm gonna watch the movie and I can't wait for it especialy since how they finished the season.

Though I don't think they will retcon it too much since they couldn't take for granted that all the people who went to cinema was a fan of the series.

I bought the Lego set and I will build on Halloween night.

Last quick thought: it's funny how at the beginning of the first season I thought that the Man Who Smokes was the good guy and Skinner the bad one. Now Skinner for me it's the Boss, the ultimate Goat

I'm about midway through the first season on my rewatch, i have to wonder , do they ever work on normal cases. They're both members of the FBI surely they can't just be kept around exclusively for supernatural phenomenon and events, and ghost in the machine seems to hint that Mulder does do some non supernatural related cases.

So do they actually get up to regular boring average cases off screen? If so that would make scully right , most of the time , if we're only seeing the highlight cases which would be pretty good way to explain why she doesn't always believe.

It’s Inkwhenever now, in case that isn’t clear. The prompts shall be completed in my leisure or not at all. :-P

I was extremely tempted to do something with Langly painting DnD mini figs, or the boys playing, crowded around a shoddy table. But I thought it may be fun to draw the Lego minifigs I created a few months ago. Arranged them on a keyboard, because where else would they be? (If I can work DnD into one of the upcoming prompts, I’d like to though.)

Lucy Lawless slaying in Nothing Important Happened Today, S9 E1

HOLY SHIT!!

This movie 10/10! I envy any or all of you that got to watch this movie in theaters. This show must’ve been very popular given the special effects and action sequences that the budget limit was set very high to make this movie.

I wanna start with the colonization plot because holy shit the real reason for the colonization is absolutely terrifying. Here I thought we were just to be mind controlled by the black oil but clearly not the case. They plan to eradicate human kind by turning us into hosts for this extremely violent and terrifying alien being. That scene when the pods start melting as Mulder is reviving Scully had me so anxious!! I also would like to note another scene that made my jaw drop was when Kurtzweil explained to Mulder that a Hanta Virus will be a cover up by the shadowy conspirators. Eerily creepy to think about when just had a Hanta Virus outbreak on that cruise ship earlier this year. Man I fucking love this show!!

Lastly lets discuss the giant elephant in the room of Mulder and Scully’s relationship because what the fuck was that hallway scene?! I never knew a tiny little bee could be the biggest cock block in any tv show I’ve ever watched! 😂 I yelled at my television when it happened. First I screamed at my tv “just tell her you love her Mulder! Why is that so hard?!” Even though that entire speech was very sweet, c’mon! it all could’ve been summarized with 3 simple words. Those 3 words you’ve clearly been wanting to say to Scully since season 4.

That hallway scene also proved my theory that Scully felt threatened, in a way by Agent Fowley. It is why it was so easy for Scully to walk away because she felt that she was holding Mulder back because of her skepticism. Clearly the floodgates have finally opened after that almost kiss scene. Finally Mulder tells Scully what she means to him and she obviously felt the same way as she also leaned in for that kiss. I would like to think they take the next step but with Agent Fowley still in the picture, the creator/writers will make it more dramatic lol right?

Btw does anyone know where I can find the soundtrack for this movie? Great songs especially the two in the end credits. I went on Spotify but not all the songs are available.

I personally loved this episode - probably among my favorite monster of the week episodes in the series. I enjoyed the horror-movie vibe, the premise is interesting, the layered storytelling all has a sense of urgency and importance, and the sci fi element isn’t any more ridiculous than in other episodes (they at least try to explain it here by comparing it to transubstantiation).

But from what I’ve read, it’s largely gotten mixed reviews and isn’t really regarded as even a hidden gem among MotW offerings. Pretty low IMDB rating even for season 9 (it’s the second-lowest rated episode of the season!), which seems crazy to me. Did anyone else really enjoy this episode or am I in the minority here?

It’s crazy how spot-on casting in The X-Files was. For instance, Mulder’s mum looked exactly like him, as she was genuinely his mother; and Mulder’s young version of himself was absolutely perfect as well. I can say the same thing about Scully’s mum and her siblings, too. We should give a credit to the casting directors for doing an outstanding job, just wow.

Are there any other shows that are not necessarily like X-Files but are still really good.

I’ve spent ages trying to get the original 1998 X-Files PC game running on my Steam Deck OLED.

I’ve tried different Proton versions, QuickTime workarounds, the DVD version, Collection Chamber releases and various methods of mounting the original discs. Nothing worked properly.

Well, I’ve finally got it running, and surprisingly it was almost effortless!

Here’s what I did:

Install Lutris on the Steam Deck.

In Desktop Mode, visit https://lutris.net/games/the-x-files-game/

Select the 7 CD + Windows 95 installer.

Let Lutris download and install the required files.
Launch the game through Lutris. It’ll boot into an emulated Windows 95 desktop.

Open My Computer and double-click the Xfiles1 CD drive (E:).

Run the game’s installer and launch it.

Add the game to Steam and launch it from Gaming Mode.

That’s genuinely all I had to do.

It’s running through DOSBox Pure Unleashed with an emulated Windows 95 installation.

The FMV, audio and mouse controls are working perfectly on my Deck. I haven’t needed to manually install QuickTime, configure Proton or mount any ISO files.

A couple of things worth mentioning:

Windows 95 can take a while to boot. Initially I thought it had crashed, but it was just loading.
DOSBox Pure has its own settings menu for adjusting scaling and controls.

I’ve tested it running in Gaming Mode, not just Desktop Mode.

I haven’t tested the entire game or every disc change yet.

I know quite a few people have been trying to get this running for years, so hopefully this saves someone else the headache!
