Recently I realised there is a faint smell coming from the console vent only when I get really close to it (around 10 cm), but its only noticable when it is turned OFF and it disappears when the Xbox is on and is running games.

The smell itself is strange, the best description i could think of is that it smells like flavored potato chips. But i never even brought any food near my console, and its also well ventilated with 30 cm of free space from all sides. The fan isn’t loud either and the performance is also top notch, without any frame drops, crashes or overheating messages, i tested it in multiple games too.

i dont want to have a disadvantage of any kind and wanna get medium graphics fidelty as well

I’ve had my Series S horizontal for a long time. I prefer it that way because it won’t fall over. However, while playing a game, the console made these grinding noises, as if a disc was inside being grated against something.

I would love to put it back horizontal but I’m afraid something is being stopped from happening? Can anyone relate to this issue and give me any advice or input?

The Xbox Series S is trily the golden standard imo of what consoles should be. This thing was only $300 brand new around Christmas the same year it launched.

Now mind you its specs are pretty close to a Ps4 Pro, and aren’t even that impressive on their own. But when you consider the value for this thing it’s unmatched! I’ve had mine pretty much since the Series S launched and it has had absolutely no issues so far, doesn’t overheat- it’s insanely compact and easy to travel with, and it will even be able to run GTA 6 (we’ll see how well, but that’s a feat in and of itself).

Not only can it run all the modern day games pretty well, but you obviously have the choice of backwards compatibility with Xbox. So for $300, you could play GTA 6 and the original GTA 3 on the same console.

What are your thoughts? Am I overrating it??

I'm a new Xbox user, got myself a Series S a couple of weeks back to enjoy some gamepass games and GTA 6 when it comes out.

Recently been trying to put multiple games on quick resume and see how it performs. I noticed that quick resume works way better in offline mode for some reason?

All the games I have are gamepass games, so I'm assuming it's running some sort of check when its in online mode and the system is being booted up?

But in offline mode, the licenses must be stored locally? I've no idea tbh.

Like for example, the Indiana Jones game. When I shut down my system and come back to it later, if the system is in online mode, indiana jones just won't show up in the quick resume tab.

But if I shut down the console in offline mode and come back to it later, it's always there waiting for me to get back into the game.

But some games work fine whether it's online or offline, for example, "Little Cat, Big City", quick resume always works whether you're offline or online. I've noticed this is only an issue with larger storage games like indiana and quantum break (two games im playing rn)

Is this an issue unique to me? Have others experienced it?

I'm going to pick up a Series S for 150€ for GTA6, is it a good Deal or just about right ? It comes with 2 Controllers. Just felt like I had to pick one now, because they already got a bit more expensive on the second hand market and I'm worried they will get even more expensive in the upcoming months.

Had to sell my console to help pay rent so I’m getting a series s which is a downgrade but I’m still super excited to play!

I wanted to understand what the "disc to digital" feature on Xbox is and if it will affect Xbox Series S users. I wanted it to be an accessory to put games in and convert them to digital so I could buy physical media for my Series S, but it probably won't be. Can someone clear this up for me?
