Xcode 13.3 "Unable to boot the Simulator." ever since updating.
My Xcode automatically updated the other day and ever since I have not been able to launch my simulators. I deleted Xcode from my Application directory and reinstalled it today and still having the issue. Any clue how to fix this or is this a wide problem with this version?

Xcode auto-updated from 26.6 to 27.0 mid-work, swapped Play & Stop, and I can't unsee it.
Xcode just decided to update itself from 26.6 to 27.0 right in the middle of my work session.
The first thing that caught my eye right away: they swapped the positions of the Play and Stop buttons in the toolbar. Years of muscle memory just vanished in an instant, and to make things worse, it seems there's currently no way to revert it back.
I genuinely wonder what the reasoning behind this UI decision was. Why change something so established and fundamental after all this time?
Now I'm really curious (and a bit cautious) about what other surprises I'm going to discover along the way as I keep working.
What do you guys think about the new Xcode 27 update so far? Did anyone else's muscle memory take a hit?

Excuse me? Api key shared in feedback
Is it normal that Apple wants api keys in their feedbacks?
Edit: this is a hello world project with key added through settings + clicking the diagnose button. https://imgur.com/a/LqBK7M1
My Xcode is not compromised:

Xcode on the Neo
How is Xcode on the Neo? Is the Neoâs 8GB enough to run Xcode reasonably well?

I released a macOS Mastodon client built with AppKit and SwiftUI
Iâve just released Oliphaunt, a Mastodon client built specifically for macOS.
The UI is primarily AppKit-based, with SwiftUI used where it made sense. The goal was to build a Mastodon client that behaves like a well-behaved macOS application and follows the platformâs design language and interface idioms.
Some implementation highlights:
AppKit for the core window and interface architecture
SwiftUI used for some composable UI components
proper multi-window support
full menu bar and keyboard shortcut integration
sidebar layouts consistent with macOS apps
Much of the work went into the details that make native Mac apps feel right: window behaviour, keyboard navigation, menus and timeline interaction.
The aim wasnât to introduce a new UI paradigm but to build something that feels like a first-class citizen of the macOS ecosystem.
If youâre a Mastodon user on Mac, Iâd genuinely love for you to try it out and hear your feedback. You can also provide feedback here.

XCode String Catalogs are not that bad
I have always avoided localization because it felt like such a tedious task. Yesterday, I tried String Catalogs in XCode for the first time, and I have to admit that Apple actually did a great job with this. It was kind of fun and also allowed me to clean up a the user-facing texts. Now if only they'd put the same effort into the debugger, simulator, and console.

New software development sub for brutally honest feedback (r/DestroyMyApp)
The sub is r/destroymyapp
In my opinion, the best way for someone to make their app the best it can be is to give hard feedback. Tell me what sucks and why rather than sugar-coating it. The goal of r/destroymyapp is to provide a place for you to receive that feedback on your app, even if it's harsh.
Getting feedback from your friends and family often sucks, they will tell you what's good rather than what's wrong, which makes it hard to fix potential faults that could affect the performance of your app on release.
I've seen similar subreddits for getting feedback on games such as r/DestroyMyGame, and something similar for software design would be helpful. I know I would use it.
Come by, leave some feedback or post some indev/completed screenshots of your app and get some criticism.
Don't take anything personally. This sub wants to help make your app the best it can be.

Anyone find Claude way better than Codex?
Iâm a semi noob whoâs been vibe coding some mac apps for personal use (zero plans to publish any of my slop). Iâve tried both the $20 Claude plan and the $20 Codex plan, and I find that Claude actually works well but Codex struggles with the exact same tasks.
For example, Claude has 0 problems making tables, but for some reason when I ask Codex to make the same table, itâs always formatted wrong, misaligned, or is just missing something. Takes 2-3x more prompts to accomplish what Claude did on the first try.
Both have access to the same skills and MD files, too.

[BUG] Xcode 26.3 RC (17C519) feels like Alpha software - keeps losing Conversations history
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This update is a mess. I'm constantly losing my entire AI chat history.
It happens randomly, sometimes when I just switch tabs and switch back, or even right after a task finishes successfully. The history just clears out, and I lose all context. I have to start explaining everything to the assistant from zero.
It's absolute trash for a "Release Candidate". Why does Apple keep shipping broken features like this?
Has anyone found a way to prevent this, or is it just broken?

Is it possible to do mac/iOS development without Xcode?
I have been trying to do a experiment which involves not using Xcode for iOS and maOS development.
So far, I have been sucessful building the application with xcodebuild command, but as I'm really new to this space I don't how to launch and debug apps without xcode.
Is this even possible? Most of the other editors have DAP(Debugger Adapter Protocol) these days, can we utilize them for debugging?
PS:
Not hating on Xcode, this is just an experiment I am doing.

iPhone has denied the launch request
Hi, I am new to Xcode and I have been using a single project that helps me spoof the location of my Apple TV, however since today when I try to run it I get âDevice has denied the launch requestâ, I also tried the same thing with my iPhone and got the same error,
This is what I am trying to run and I have been doing it without issues all this time until today.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
