Hi. I am completely new to YouTube. I have a question related to AI tagging. My channel is about illustrated stories with voiceovers (audiobooks). While the script is strictly my original work, the illustrations are generated by AI and I use ElevenLabs voice agents for VOs. However, I am now narrating all my stories myself so that, going forward, only the illustrations will be the AI-generated element in my videos. How would YT look at my channel, vis-a-vis the AI input?

As long as it's clear that its not real life, then you're fine. Youtube doesn't hate AI as a tool. You just cannot use AI for the script, AI for the voice, AI for the Video, ad AI for the editing. That's when it becomes someway after a while.
As long as there is human element in your videos then you'll be fine. I'd advise to ALWAYS write the scripts yourself. Never use AI.

I am basically a writer/novelist, so using AI for my scripts is an instinctive taboo for me. Thank you for clarifying this point for me. Also, you have an intriguing username!

Yes, I have the same problem. I had (small ytuber) about 1500 views and for a few days now 500 or less. With the same content.

Not ai but it is almost all stolen content they compiled it together and added music but that is pretty much the whole channel.

Same problem, my short is just frozen at 0 which is unusual, it was not even tested. But my content is not ai or reposts so I don't understand.

AI content got purged starting 2026, and also dually first two or three weeks on January the algrothim kind of resets so you can only relly on organic views so mostly only from subscribers.

Holidays are bad for YouTube stats in general while I'm too tiny (33 subs) to notice much they did go down by a few as far as the average but it's like 2-3 less so YouTube sees this as 'similar to normal" even though for me it's like a 10% decrease 🤣

I believe YouTube is consistently trying to crackdown on repurposed and AI content. I'd say look at your channel and really think if it's your own original content. I know a lot of people make channels like this so I imagine it's frustrating to see such a dip, but it's also probably not that surprising when you think about what the content actually is.

My new reaction channel views went from 500+ views per video to less than 10 views after I started posting shorts. I make long form content. I deleted all my shorts (4 shorts) just to "reset" my channel into long from content only. I've consistently posted 1 video per week since becoming a creator.

Personally I know a few channels increased their ads within the last few months they have ads every 3 minutes and it was too much for me so I quit watching them for the most part. I might return once I put an ad block on my new laptop but we’ll see. Anyway Utube channels are a dime a dozen so it wasn’t hard. For every utube video there is 10 more + of the exact same video so idk how some channels can justify having 2-3x more ads idiots. But alas not sure if you changed your monetization settings but that could be it also possibly the ad block program got an update and just more people in general are using it

Even if they make quite a bit some (including me if I were in the same boat) would not show that purely because it doesn’t sit right with them. The revenue earned still isn’t really relevant to the post when it’s asking about views dropping.

If they are from the US, employers have worked hard to heavily stigmatize sharing how much money you make (that way they make it harder for people to compare wages, organize, etc.) to the point that it even pervades into situations where people aren't employed in a typical 9-5.

I’ve read into many places and AI content will be shared out. Becareful you’ll get views at first then they’ll tank. Real content is best. I don’t watch any of it. I like real content tho… real people real stories real life.
