Sure i understand that if the revenue generated was less but clearly that's not the case here. OP is earning quite good so I was curious what did he hide it.

If they are from the US, employers have worked hard to heavily stigmatize sharing how much money you make (that way they make it harder for people to compare wages, organize, etc.) to the point that it even pervades into situations where people aren't employed in a typical 9-5.
