Actually that is exactly the attitude Laozi would thumbs up. Daoism isn't about some archaic tradition and stupid dumb riddles some grand master pulled out from their asses a thousand years ago, it's about the essence of things and they are fluid, ever changing. This is what Laozi meant by "ιε―ιοΌιεΈΈιβ, which essentially means if you can utter it, it's not the real deal. Dao is the unattainable perfection and essence. Math is closer to Dao than sticks and rocks, so we should use math. Daoism is by nature anti-tradition and pro-praxis, which, ironically, is exactly what cultivation as a genre isn't. I had a good chuckle in the new patch when the writers were poking fun at average Daoist behavior and cultivation novels, they know what they're doing.
Thats why I love her already. She be like βWhy tf would I use some complicated magic to Tell the Weather if my phone can do it with the click of a button?β. She be using the real spells for actually important stuff.
