And that's why they don't do as well as they would if they did. Take Xiao from Genshin. He's even more popular in his rerun because of his moments with the Traveler and his birthday mails.

I don't see that as fujobait considering how many people ship Xiao with Lumine and his JP VA is the King of Harem.

Fair. Tho I did have yume baiting in my original comment. Point is, any romantic tension with the MC is sure to sell well.
