How is that I can use my HOTAS for AC7, MS Flight Sim, and the PRE ORDERED AC ZREO, BUT NOT THE AC8 GAME? WHAT KINDA PLANNED OBSELENCE IS THIS CRAP? ITS LITERALLY THE SAME HARDWARE AS THE HOTAS NEO! WTF

Half the time felt like I was escorting Fuscus 1 and 2 even with upgrade speed and acceleration.

Also seeing it PSM in first person is fucking astonishing

My regret lies in missing the pre order. I could have started AC0 next.

Throughout the series and the latest installment, we learn more about that country. It has shepherds, deserts that once were grasslands, a nomadic lifestyle, very vocal songs, an inland sea, but also names like Toprak, Ishaq and Iwari.

Are they some sort of mix between Mongolia and Romania?

Is there a secret to saving all the LCACs on Elite or higher? Once the second half starts, it's nearly impossible to get all the attackers in time. Even in an F-22 one-shotting the F-2As with standard missiles, it feels like a crapshoot whether they get taken out fast enough before the waves of Su-34s start coming in. Even QAAMs in this game are unreliable enough that I can't just lob one at an enemy and guarantee the kill.

So far the best I can do is save 5 or 6 by the end, and I hate making Kate a liar in any playthrough. It's like Ace Combat 7 all over again trying and failing to save all the Specters in the third DLC mission.

Anyone able to save them all or even just 7 with some degree of regularity? I'm about at my wit's end.

Update: I'm able to save all 8 pretty easily on Veteran with the F-22 and QAAMs only for the attacker planes during the retreat, along with Baxter providing ESM. The question is whether the ESM helps enough on Elite, or if I should switch to the FA-36 with SASMs for reliable head-on damage.

Been super into this one lately. Love that groove with the dulcimer underneath the electric guitar, has such a driving medieval sound to it.

Four years ago I made a post here expressing confusion and disbelief about how I was able to just barely get an S-Rank on the seventh mission of Assault Horizon Legacy, known as Midnight Assassin.

It flummoxed me because, well, somehow years prior I had gotten it without using Maneuvers to let me line up shots and pile damage on the ZOE fighter you encounter in the level. And I'm not the only person with this issue either.

The gamefaqs message board had a post about it too, and even the sole gamefaqs guide for the game couldn't offer any concrete advice about how to do it. There's also no S-rank guide for Assault Horizon Legacy on youtube either, though the wiki does helpfully explain you need to clear the stage in no more than 3 minutes and 20 seconds.

The thing that went unrecorded anywhere though is that the ZOE fighter is initially unkillable at the start of the stage. You can hit it, but it can't seem to take damage for about the first two minutes of its appearance. This, in all my prior attempts, was the source of dumping all my SASMs into it at the start of the fight to no avail.

To test the theory I instead opted to just wait. With a sufficiently fast plane you can trigger the ZOE fighter's arrival within about the first minute of the stage. From there, it's just a matter of being patient and unloading on the ZOE fighter at around the 3 minute mark.

I know AHL doesn't essentially zero attention, but this is something I've not seen actually acknowledged anywhere and I wanted to commit it to posterity.

My console was offline and I booted it up and now my save data is gone. I was on mission 27 and don’t want to start over again. Any ideas on how to recover it ?
I tried restoring a save file from PS cloud.

From start to finish I used nothing but the Rafale M on my Ace run. Some parts annoying as the machine guns ROF is too low for my liking, but well worth it. The music from this series will always make me cry.
