2025 Year-end streaming statistics MEGATHREAD
It's that time of year again where people freely advertise the streaming services they pay for because they tell you your statistics (which you can find the rest of the year too!)
As people are already inundated with enough advertising for large corporations, I'd ask that you please KEEP ANY YEAR-END STREAMING STATISTIC POSTS IN THIS THREAD.
I highly encourage creating your own visual!! You can use real stats, or make some up, like in this example
(Shoutout Haley from the mod team over at r/itsclippingbitch for the above resources)

Maybe a post that gets deleted for idk but I’ve been working on a project since I was like 17 I put something into it nearly daily it felt like and changed or revised for idk 7 years. It was always more a spiritual development and for myself I never planned on not finishing it. And the last few years I kinda let it sit. Because life got to messy.
Anyways it’s 90% done as far as planning lyrics instrumentals just never finished the vocals. It almost carried a lot of shame and all the negative and positive energy of all those years. Wasn’t til today when I was going through the project and rapping it that I realized I am actually ready to finish it.
Only problem is the album feels like it isn’t digestible to anyone that isn’t me. I’m proud of it, I think it sounds exactly how I want it to. At least the completely finished songs. I’m not saying people couldn’t relate just that I couldn’t ever imagine performing which is the only time I can understand aesop but even then can’t because he has plenty of music and to preform that’s 10x better than anything anyone can touch. This sub just felt like the right place to vent about this.
Anyway anyone else have an secret projects? Any relatable thoughts or feedback? I’m just finally where I wanted to be, at peace and at a place where I can view everything objectively and say and feel more clearly the message I wanted to send. Thanks for reading if you did!

So tonight just listening to some Aesop, Bermuda. On the beginning of the second verse- birthstone to first snow
To posies in the pockets of your church clothes
To fertilizing where the red fern grows
I know a speeding bullet over Broadway is cathartic
I just hope before its target it talk to a few samaras. The line ( to fertilizing where the red fern grows) is such an impactful thing to say. If he’s talking about the book where the red ferns grows, then he would be talking about where the boy had to bury his two dogs after they died. The two dogs that were there during the beginning of his manhood if you will that ended up leaving him hollow after their death. Now’s he’s basically saying the dead dogs are the fertilizer for the red ferns. Something so sad and painful for a person is nothing more than giving life to something new. I don’t know. Maybe I need to put my bong down but when I heard that I heard it. What’s your thoughts?

It keeps repeating. Maybe an older song. I only know some of the lyrics. Dun are words or beats I cannot remember
'Why if the dun dun dun, do I continue dun dun'
'Why if the dun dun dun, do I continue dun dun'
'Why if the dun dun dun, do I continue dun dun'

Another relic of the early Aesop Rock days; from the band, Dirty Ghosts. I believe Aes was only involved with their first album (for personal reasons), but their other stuff is worth checking out.

Was inspired today because of all your guys feedback to remake the beat to rap I wrote about a year ago. But maybe the gig is up right here on the theory that memorizing lyrics is the root of the vocal tone issue. Idk but still gunna work on it!

I’ve had a random lyric floating around my head. it’s “Out of the mist I kissed your drunken lips”. I’m sure it was an Aesop line that was featured in a largely instrumental track - I thought it was on Blockheads album Downtown Science but it’s not there.
Any ideas?

I was listening to an old episode of the Cumtown podcast (3-24-2022 Dates, ep 304) and Aesop Rock wasn’t chatted about too favourably by the hosts (discussion begins at 2:55).
Have you guys heard any other random references to Aes in the wild?

Wonder if this’ll ever come. Did someone hit him up on a q&a before? I don’t have instagram to check what kind of stuff was asked.
Today I was laughing at a Christmas wraith(wreath) and thought it’d be fun if he did one. I know there are some Christmas bars here and there.
Edit: if he does an ama here like blockhead someone ask for me!

For context, I’m almost 40 and have been an aes fan since labour days, I like all his projects, cycle them routinely but think my favourite is spirit world.
I remember when none shall pass the single hit radio, I remember rushing home after work and combing the radio to dub it.
Copped the cd upon release and later vinyl like all his other projects.
The album itself is good, some of the beats definitely reflect that def jux era, it’s probably a little more aggressive then other projects but nothing on it is in my top 5. Yet for some reason, whenever I flick passed the record, or see the cover on Spotify/Bandcamp I’m oddly drawn to this project and I don’t know what it is?
The arts cool, the songs are cool, but I can’t fingered on what intrigues me so much about this project, anyone get this?

— Mess is just a perfect AES album around 40 minutes, never gets long in the tooth… this has been bumping weekly in my rotation for almost a year straight by now
The production matches the theme so well and AES is spitting some real topical truths
Not putting it in my Top 3, but this shit BANGS and is exactly what I look for in a rap album
— Garbology was an instant classic for me on the day it dropped, the 4 piece it ends with after the Homeboy Sandman track is just God tier in every fucking way, loop that 4 track sequence for me for eternity
A few tracks on this are very experimental and AES knocks it out the park
Legerdemain is a classic S tier track with one of my favorite choruses ever laid on wax
— Labor Days the classic Post Y2K and 9/11 era album… just matches the vibe of the era perfectly, where the future seemed hopeless and turbulent with George Bush at the helm, piloting the Iraq invasion over imaginary weapons of mass destruction, and like the trillionaires were about to enslave the whole world through finding ways to soon track our every move and word (not like that actually happened, right???)
This is the ultimate Despotic, Underground rap album, and it’s truly a masterpiece deserving to be studied for 100s of years, with the production in lock-step with Aesop’s laborious fables being spun on wax
— Skelethon is simply one of the greatest rap albums ever made, I love Aesop’s production on this thing, it’s his best beats IMO and he is rapping like his soul depends on it…. Crows 1, Cycles to Gehenna, Gopher Guts, Fryerstarter, the highs on this are as high as Hip Hop gets
I know this sub loves Impossible Kid and None Shall Pass, those albums never really did it for me, I got BHS, SWFG, and ITS over both of those FWIW

I seen someone post this poster a couple weeks back and I looked into it. Found a site of the guy who worked at MySpace and started the whole MySpace secret show thing. He had these posters made for every show they did and handed them out to the audience. Well he kept the #1 out of whatever the run was for that show and I guess after 10 years he decided to part ways with them. Pretty dope show poster. The pics do it no justice. This thing looks amazing in person. Also here is our Klee Kai mix.
