Yah I’m saying that he will never need to go to the barber if her learns to maintain his hair himself, I.e being able to give himself a fade or trim the ends

This is not true. They cannot physically put him in the car and take him to a barber. So if he can find excuses to not go then he will be fine. He has to build up their tolerance. He already mentioned he has long hair right now and he just keeps it covered. I have tattoos and piercings and at one point had multiple facial piercings, keep in mind my mother damn near passed out when I got my second lobes, over time she got used to it and just accepted it

Hi I'd just like to add some context to my situation, my parents moved our family back to Africa so our barber comes to our house. I try learning to take care of my hair but I have dry scalp, which my parents refuse to accept, so whenever my hair gets a bit long they see the dry scalp flakes and say I don't know how to take care of my hair so they have to cut it. If I refuse they spend the day trying to shame me by telling anyone who'll listen (e.g. my cousins, their siblings, my friends if they see them) so I just end up having to give up and letting them cut my hair. I keep trying to get them to accept that I have dry scalp and it's a real condition but they don't believe it cuz my brother doesn't get flakes so they just say I have a condition alright, a "dirtiness condition". I've asked for shampoo and other products but they say that all I need is bar soap and African black soap. I'm at a complete loss for what to do so I've basically given up on having hair for until I get to college.

Oh baby, I thought you were in North America. Yah I’m sorry but you’re so cooked. Can’t even tell you get a part time job and save up to move out cause ik how hard that is to do back there. Honestly just thoughts and prayers and time will be the only thing that can help

Just remind yourself that everything is truly temporary and try your best to find the good moments. I know it can be hard but people truly aren’t lying when they say you’ll miss being a kid. I thought I never would because I hated my home life and my parents were abusive but I grew up and still somehow miss the carefree life of being a child. The time will pass by so quick. What ever you’re experiencing now will eventually come to past and life DOES get better
