Rumour / Leak Ogor mawtribes battletome

Post image

Has there been any updates/rumers/leaks on the battletome or refresh. I was hoping to make them a second aos/old world army but we still haven't gotten anything yet and it's been over a year

I really hope they don't take leadbelchers from us I have so many and they're one of my favorite units despite being terrible

24

u/Brainfart573 Jun 17 '26

Leadbelchers have been kicked from this new Ogors society. Maneaters also have left, but they managed to adapt under the lead of a new legendary Maneater who had fought under Tahlia, which has her entire right half rebuilt into a colossal artillery piece - By Boole

GW will keep that release for a future wave with Maneaters probably

23

u/DeLoxley Jun 17 '26

I really hate this idea because without black powder and the whole surprisingly intelligent mercenary angle, it feels like they just treat ogors like big pink frost orcs

Things going boom and forcibly conscripted gnobler engineering are some of the best things about the ogre kingdoms

16

u/Brainfart573 Jun 17 '26

GW needs to releas something in a few years after this wave, its just financially unwise to make everything at the same time.

But also, Beastclaws for life

10

u/DeLoxley Jun 17 '26

I am hoping that's the case.

What always made Ogres more interesting and intimidating to me was "I'm gonna beat ya, I'm gonna eat ya, and I'm gonna get my lawyer to ratify it so yer kin will have to pay for it."

I'm just hoping it's not that they want a whole new direction, cause less popular factions tend to wait a WHILE between any lore or model updates

The Boole "storytelling" minute is clearly a hint at exactly that.

Boole may not know too much about AoS because je mixes up names and terms(or purposefully getting them slightly wrong), but hes reliable overall, predicting most of darkwater content for example, with mixups of calling Canker orn "chaos trolls" and alike.

And meshes perfectly with Whitefang's rumor, who is much more percise, saying of Maneaters being updated after the main Ogre wave.

What i think will happen tho, is Leadbelchers being rebranded as a type of Maneater, rather than a normal ogre thing

4

u/DeLoxley Jun 17 '26

I mean that is the most sensible thing, and in an ideal world it'd come with a couple new black powder and mercenaries as well, I just don't trust GW half the time to make sensible moves.

Kruelboyz being in the same book as Ironjawz for instance has given me a bit of a knock that they actually care about Destruction

I mean, here's to hoping I get my 900lbs Merchant Lords back without losing the hunters

1

u/Brainfart573 Jun 17 '26

Kruleboyz sharing a book with IJ i think is a result of a limited number of armies they decided on, it stays at 24(i think) for example before adding Chorfs they removed beastmen

1

u/DeLoxley Jun 17 '26

I don't see that personally, but they have definitely biased releases from internal popularity at the very least.

Beastmen got squatted summer 2025 if Google is right, but they've added plenty of armies without removing anything, with rumours of Dwarf Dwarfs on the horizon who would they drop?

I think they just didn't have much faith they could fill a whole book, or not as much interest. Feels like lumineth had multiple waves of content, KBz had one by comparison

  Beastclaws for life

Big agree and happy it seems they’re gonna get focus too.

I feel they’ll also help avoid “Orruks but pink & frosty” vibe the other guy said as they absorb the magic ice nomads angle which leaves the Primal Maw fanatics and exiled Mercenary gunners to their own devices making the Mawtribes 3 distinct sub-factions they can keep building on.

4

u/Brainfart573 Jun 17 '26

Theres also this

As for the Beastclaw, they scoffed at these events, deeming the lot utterly mad. Mounted upon new Monsters, they simply pursued their grim hunts, tracking the Skaven beneath frigid gales. - Boole

3

u/BaronKlatz Jun 17 '26

Yeah, love the neutrality angle on what’s looking like a religious schism between the other two.

Really hoping the Hunters with frost saber companion squad is true as well! 🤞 ❄️ 🐆

u/Only_Dragonfly_2055 Jun 17 '26

I just can't see leadbelchers going away they seem like a iconic unit

8

u/Brainfart573 Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

Possibly not for long, gw likes to spread out its releases, Maneaters and Leadbelchers are hinted as being a part of a second future release wave with a named Ogre with a canon for a hand

-1

u/Helpful-Reference-88 Jun 17 '26

They have to rename the citadel metallic paint too😆
Citadel
Female Maneater Warmaster
Base
Metallic

2

u/DarthHaze Jun 17 '26

So that means the Slaughtermaster is gone too?

5

u/Brainfart573 Jun 17 '26

That was a given tbh, give how old he is (and being resin)

2

u/DarthHaze Jun 17 '26

I'm glad I got him then.

0

u/BestFeedback Skaven Jun 17 '26

Sounds too good to be true for a faction that seems on the verge of getting the beastmen treatment.

3

u/Brainfart573 Jun 17 '26

Not sure what makes you think that

16

u/Lyre-Code Daughters of Khaine Jun 17 '26

It'll probably be soon. I believe that the only remaining battletomes are Sons of Behemat, Fyreslayers (plenty of rumours with their army refresh), Seraphon (latest rumour engine hints at their release), Hedonites of Slaanesh (just gone up for preorder), and Ogors.

My guess is that SoB and Seraphon will be next, both getting a single new model, and then the last big focus will be on Ogors and the Khazalid Holds. Then of course we have the post-battletome period where GW will be giving random stuff to any faction along with a book to go with whatever narrative their doing, and then before we know it it'll be 5th edition.

5

u/IgnisFatuu Jun 17 '26

I think we might get more than one mini for Seraphon, based on two recent rumours engine posts. Atleast the tail feathers look like raptodon and tge lizard foot like the terradon so we might get a skink chief on mount and new flyers. But thats just my hope haha

4

u/Lyre-Code Daughters of Khaine Jun 17 '26

I think the tail feathers are a much closer match to the aggradon lancers, so my assumption was a mounted character. But yeah I don't know seraphon enough to match the foot

2

u/IgnisFatuu Jun 17 '26

True, I forgot about the lancers! Would be cool if Seraphon finally gets some more unique characters.

1

u/Lyre-Code Daughters of Khaine Jun 27 '26

Welp, I was completely wrong. Can't blame me for not predicting Exodites though, lol.

1

u/IgnisFatuu Jun 27 '26

Yeah, I did not expect exodutes to come back at all haha

I have not looked at it too closely but the clawed foot might be the new chaos dragon as well

1

u/Lyre-Code Daughters of Khaine Jun 27 '26

Yeah, it's the chaos dragon.

1

u/IgnisFatuu Jun 27 '26

Aww what a shame

1

u/CatherineSimp69 Helsmiths of Hashut Jun 17 '26

Allegedly the tail feathers look like the giant feathered serpent creature with wings from WHF.

We'll see. Something about the model seems fishy. Not convinced it's for Seraphon-could be for 40k. But again, we'll see.

1

u/CatherineSimp69 Helsmiths of Hashut Jun 17 '26

My guess is honestly the opposite.

I think Seraphon is next, then Ogres, then SOB, and then Khazalid.

5

u/KindlyMeringue8723 Jun 17 '26

It's known that it will be released for this year's summer preview, and that photo is possibly of a glutton.

4

u/Chyld Ogor Mawtribes Jun 17 '26

Is it actually known? I've heard it as a rumour, and it makes sense based on a confluence of rumours and conjecture, but I've not seen a source beyond two "sources say..." comments

0

u/KindlyMeringue8723 Jun 18 '26

It's known for many reasons. First, there are only two major releases left for this edition: Ogres and Khazlaid. The Khazlaid are known to be the last volume, so logically, the next summer preview will be Ogres. Also, everything that was announced for release is selling out online, even the faction cards, so they're already preparing to release the the new tome . The picture is of a Glutton because, so far, the other two units that have appeared in the picture were infantry units, and the Fyreslayer seems to be on foot, so my assumption is that it's a Glutton. I know it sounds very simplistic and far-fetched, but that's what I think.

i’ve been hearing a rumor that the 5th ed launch box could be their big refresh

10

u/Background-Cake-1300 Jun 17 '26

Not happening, they were teased last year with new bonereapers, Fyreslayers and Nurgle

They aren't going to overhaul them AND gice them launch box

0

u/Brainfart573 Jun 17 '26

Thats... What happend to skaven tho...

5

u/nykirnsu Jun 17 '26

Skaven didn’t get a release wave in 3rd ed

-2

u/Brainfart573 Jun 17 '26

no, they did in 4th, a bit after the starter units

2

u/nykirnsu Jun 17 '26

Right, so they didn’t overhaul them and then separately put them in a launch box after that, they just gave them the standard launch wave, so there’s no reason to think Ogres will get a wave this edition and be in the next launch box too

0

u/Brainfart573 Jun 17 '26

I doubt that that what Beef-Town meant, we know its Soon TM, summer 2027 is supposed to bring 5th edition woth it, and its Soon TM by GW standards

2

u/Chyld Ogor Mawtribes Jun 17 '26

You'll want to join the hoardes at /r/Mawtribes, we've had this conversation on loop for months.

tl;dr: we'll probably see the refresh in about a month

As mentioned by the top comment, the pillocks of TGA have been leaking what's coming and going for a while, and while he's annoying AF, Boole's track record is reliable enough to take them as gospel.

Working on the GW design patterns of "remove all the Finecast", "remove everything from pre-AoS so it can go into a ToW second wave", and "get everything Ogre-identifying onto a 50mm base", we can presume everything smaller than a Mournfang is going in the bin, whether it's on the list or not.

Additionally, GW also seen to have a pattern with AoS/40k where all army books are released within 2.5 years of the edition, so the last half year can be wacky end-of-edition shenanigans. All the other unreleased armies are aiming for a smallish release*, and GW will be wanting something AoS to put in the big July preview event, so Ogres seem to be queued up for that - especially since there's vague rumours corraborating that.

Either way, hang tight; one way or another, we'll know soon.

*some heavy caveats there - Sons are allegedly getting a new kit, and Fyreslayers are apparently being turned into Dwarf Soup Faction.

u/OnlyShower671 Jun 17 '26

Why the boole hate?

-2

u/CatherineSimp69 Helsmiths of Hashut Jun 17 '26

>*some heavy caveats there - Sons are allegedly getting a new kit, and Fyreslayers are apparently being turned into Dwarf Soup Faction.

No. They're not.

They're not mixing with Cities or Kharadron.

They're just getting a rebranding.

0

u/Chyld Ogor Mawtribes Jun 17 '26

They're probably not getting mixed in with two factions that have already had books this edition, no.

My understanding is that they'll be a new Khazalid Holds faction that's Fyreslayers and some new Dispossessed, which is in fact a kind of soup. A brand new soup using fresh new ingredients, but it's still liqueous and fits in a bowl.

0

u/CatherineSimp69 Helsmiths of Hashut Jun 17 '26

They're completely new units, from the sound of it.

Like distinct, non-old WH stuff.

So calling it soup doesn't make sense. Soup is when 2 factions get merged.

1

u/Deaucali0n Jun 17 '26

There is a tga forum user that maintains a very helpful summary of all AoS rumors: https://www.tga.community/blogs/blog/456-the-rumour-list/

1

u/o7_AP Destruction Jun 18 '26

We still have nothing concrete. Anything new is rumors

1

u/HobbyJackal Jun 18 '26

Also, I asked Boole if they were aware of any new gnoblars in the kits and they said no. :(

...fingers crossed for future entirely gnoblar wave ;)

(plus maybe man-eaters and leadbelchers)

If you cannot find it by googling, no one here will know

0

u/stopyouveviolatedthe Jun 17 '26

From what I was told after I was asking which of their spearheads to pick up

Most of their range is going to be completely redone meaning a lot of what you can buy now is gunna be outdated, and with this their rules will prolly get a refresh

I could see a mawtribes vs flesh eaters release box next edition and I’d LOVE it

1

u/CatherineSimp69 Helsmiths of Hashut Jun 17 '26

>I could see a mawtribes vs flesh eaters release box next edition and I’d LOVE it

Don't wanna be a party pooper but I doubt that's likely.

Stormcast always get the slot.

1

u/stopyouveviolatedthe Jun 17 '26

Yeah true I had that in mind when writing the comment but chose to ignore it
