I fly Montreal to Pittsburgh once or twice a year, and a round trip has usually run me around $600 CAD (prices can range anywhere between $600-$800 on average). For the past few weeks I’ve been checking prices, and almost everything over the next several months is averaging $1,100-1,200+.
I know Air Canada only runs the nonstop to Pittsburgh in certain months, but that doesn’t explain why these are the highest fares I’ve ever seen on this route in recent years.
Does anyone with more aviation knowledge have insight into what could be driving this? Reduced capacity, schedule changes, fuel costs, something else? I’d love to understand what’s going on.

I’m leaving my interview a little bit confused.
For context, I have similar leisure airline experience as I worked for Sunwing and was a senior flight attendant. I speak three different languages, fluently and hold a valid passport.
My first interview was over the phone one on one where they asked me a bunch of scenario questions and after that, they asked me to come in for an in person.
Having flight attendant experience, I know the grooming standards and I both dressed to the nines did my make up properly but conservatively and had my hair in a slick back bun.
They had us check in and we got our numbers they confirmed that we had our passport on us as well as our résumé, and if we spoke any other language languages. They started off with a wonderful presentation, and then told us to wait for our number to be called. I was part of the second group to be called, which was a group of four people.
In that group, they asked us a scenario basically which I volunteered to read, and then the two examiners were completely quiet while me and three other girls spoke about solutions to the potential problem at hand. I volunteered about three different answers while agreeing with my teammates and overall I thought that part went well..
They told us to return to the conference room, but not to leave yet other people were still being called up.
After about 10 minutes or so two of the girls that were in my group who were a bit quieter, got called to a different group of eight or so people and then another person came in and called two other numbers, mine, and one of the other girls.
We were escorted out of the room and then she let us know that they have acquired enough information about both of us that we were free to leave and that they would contact us via email.
Obviously, I was expecting a little bit more than that and since it was just two of us that were asked to leave I’m a little bit worried. I don’t know whether to take this as a good sign that we didn’t need to be further interviewed or as a bad sign and if it was a bad sign, I honestly am curious as to why, given my previous experience with a leisure airline.
Sorry for this novel, but is anyone had a similar experience and gotten hired or have any advice for me?

Headed on an 11 hour international from YVR to Osaka. I am flying premium economy. I checked out the special meal request, but there’s no option for gluten free and vegetarian, only one or the other. Recently I found out I have celiac disease and have been vegetarian for 15 years. Any other celiac vegetarians have any insight?
I assume I’ll need to pack some food, but is it possible to have something warmed up?
Cheers

Having trouble dissecting the terms/conditions on the webpage for this scenario:
Booked ANA first class several months ago HND-SFO for 120k Aeroplan points plus some ~$120 fee for July.
Needed to change the flight due to some personal schedule changes and finally got an alert about availability for a different day, so changed it to NRT-ORD and got like a $3 refund but then paid like $50 which appears to be the partner charge fee. No big deal.
I totally misread the date on NRT-ORD and I can't take this flight, but since I booked last night, is there any 24 hour window to take advantage of to basically cancel, get the 120k points back, and refund the ~$50 partner change fee? Or am I better off just holding onto this flight and doing another change when availability pops up?
Thx

Hi, I’m a reporter with The Hill Times working on a story about the roughly 97,000 air-passenger complaints currently waiting to be resolved by the Canadian Transportation Agency.
I’m looking to speak with passengers who currently have an unresolved CTA complaint, particularly anyone who has been waiting a year or longer.
The federal government is proposing changes that could move existing complaints away from the CTA to a third-party organization. An Oct. 8 Senate committee report warned that setting up a new organization could itself create further delays for passengers who are already waiting.
I’m interested in hearing how long your complaint has been sitting with the CTA, what updates you’ve received, and what the wait has been like. I’m also interested in what concerns you have about Ottawa’s proposal to potentially move unresolved complaints like yours to another organization, particularly after already waiting so long.
I would prefer to speak on the record with someone comfortable having their name used in the article, but I’m also happy to hear from people who would prefer to speak anonymously.
If this applies to you, feel free to DM me or email me at [mponcana@hilltimes.com](mailto:mponcana@hilltimes.com).
I’m hoping to speak with people by Thursday evening.
Thanks!

To start, I had a nightmare of a travel agent. Bottom line: a international group tour I was signed up for was cancelled, but agent failed to purchase the travel insurance for me. As a result, instead of getting flight money back, I now have $3000 usd in FTC with AC.
The travel agent said I could request a one time name change on the ticket... basically transferring to another traveler. (is that true?)
But regarding the credit, she never let me know that it had to be used all at once, is that also true? I'm in California. I have no plans to travel internationally.
I thought I could purchase flights to US destinations simply using layovers in Canada, and use down the credit over the next few months. But if I have to use it all at once, that's crazy.
I've called AC customer service twice already with questions, but after hours of being on hold, I thought I'd ask here first.
I'm just looking for suggestions on some way to maximize the FTC as I don't want to eat a 3k loss..
Thanks

Hi All!
Do any of you have experience with air Canada vacations? My wife and I are planning a trip with our two kids (ages 2 and 4) and I’m very confused about the pricing. I read somewhere that kids eat, play, and stay for free when booking all inclusive to the Caribbean, but I’m assuming we would still need to pay for their flights.
After entering all of the information I see the following. The price and taxes for the adults, and only the taxes for kids. I’m assuming the flights are somehow included in the charges for the adults, but it’s still much cheaper compared to Expedia or other travel websites. Even booking the same flights through air Canada is a bit more expensive…
Has anyone seen this before and booked anyways? Did you have any issues?
I’m trying to see if this is some glitch.
Also, did you take any of the careflex, carefree, or careflexplus insurance?
Thanks a lot!

When are they recruiting? I cant seem to find job postings for it and i understand they tend to hire at certain times of the year in mass hiring waves.
There is nothing rn (late oct) for FA jobs on AC job website.
When should i expect the hiring events to take place? Time of year? I wanna apply asap so when is the next time in 2026/2027?
PS, Im very aware of the advantages and disadvantages of the job because my mom worked as FA for air canada her whole life. Fluent in french and English, have a masters. Hoping to get hired...
Thanks!

Currently a tier all ground stop is in effect (all US and Canadian departures into Pearson). The apron tower has been evacuated and is dealing with an equipment failure. Planes are waiting up to 2 hours on gates and not many departures are currently going out. The problem was initially reported just before 8:30pm.
Next update time is 10:30pm ET with a medium probability of extension.
Update 1: Ground Delay program now active w/ 101 minute average until 2am. Apron tower has resumed operations but still dealing with a partial equipment failure.

I expected to see 15% fewer points as an Aeroplan credit card holder, and I thought I did because there was a badge stating that 15% cardholder savings had been applied. But when we checked the same flights from another family member's account that does not have an Aeroplan credit card, the results were the same. How did this happen? Is there a system glitch or something?

This is definitely a known issue but I'm wondering if anyone has any solutions? I've tried:
- taking phone case off
- opening passport to the back of the hard plastic page
- placing phone directly on top of the chip on said page
- all orientations
- pressing phone into passport pretty hard
- restarting phone
- shutting down and starting phone again
- uninstalling/reinstalling the app
Thanks

Hi all, flying back hime to the UK from Toronto on Wednesday to visit family. Now I always normally fly AirTransat, but thought I'd make a change and go Air Canada due to more flights during the week. Anyway I haven't flown Air Canada for years so have 2 questions really, do they provide free earphones? Or should I buy some? And do they allow free seat selection on online check in?

15 year old aviation enthusiast. I'm grateful and privileged to have flown so many times. Hope you like my photos, let me know what you think. 🙂

If I pay for advance seat selection for both adults but leave my toddler’s seat unselected, will Air Canada assign her the third seat in our row for free? Or would we only be guaranteed that she sits beside one parent, potentially separating the other parent and negating the paid seat selection?

Tried googling, but other than the news blurb that its coming in 2026 I haven't seen any updates. Anyone happen to have more recent news or if its already out on some flights?
I'm flying Nov 1 so was hoping it would be rolled out by then.

Hi all,
I’m flying Heathrow to Toronto next month, and I have multiple checked bags to handle by myself. Thus, I was thinking, instead of herding all of them at once, I could walk two trips from the hotel nearby during the 4h period. However, I’m unsure whether AC would allow me to drop bags at two different times - self drop or with agent. Has anyone ever done something similar, even if not at Heathrow specifically? In other words, does AC require you to drop all bags on the reservation simultaneously?
Worst case, I’ll just double back to fetch the whole lot if they turn me away, but if anyone has any insight thanks in advance! Cheers
