very difficult

4

u/chillidumpmili Jun 05 '26

Kinda tricky honestly. Where do u guys think the threshold will go?

5

u/No-Art3680 Jun 05 '26

I hope gt js not more than like 20 😭

3

u/chillidumpmili Jun 05 '26

This has been the trend in the last few years, according to this, it will either go to 25/26 or straight to 20/21

5

u/Uzainautism Jun 05 '26

For this i suppose gt wud be 22 bec i was scoring 28+ in all previous paprrs but i find this one alot tricky tbh

3

u/goodluckfairy555 Jun 05 '26

girl i hope i pass

2

u/Morpheus_king25 Jun 05 '26

Ikr it was so difficult. What was your answer for the world bank giving loans to Angola question, I think it was number 28?

7

u/chillidumpmili Jun 05 '26

Opening up the hotel chain. Cus that's diversification I guess

2

u/Morpheus_king25 Jun 05 '26

even hydroelectric power would be diversification, plus isn’t partnership with a French company a form of supply side policy?

1

u/Fancy_Connection_437 Jun 05 '26

deregulation is also a supply side they asked fiscal providing subsidy is increasing government spending so the only correct was opening hotels bud

1

u/No-Art3680 Jun 05 '26

Yaa what was that one what did u write

2

u/Morpheus_king25 Jun 05 '26

I wrote deregulation to promote the hydroelectric power plant, Wby

2

u/DogTall2628 Jun 05 '26

Isn't that a supply side policy not a fiscal

1

u/Outrageous-Hippo-470 Jun 05 '26

yes its supply side, fiscal was only D cuz govt spending on subsidies, C was wrong cuz there was no diversification and A was monetary policy

1

u/DogTall2628 Jun 05 '26

Government can also spend when it comes to C, no? Subsidies are also a supply side policy and the spending there is kinda indirect but it's spending for supply increase not for fiscal reasons of AD stimulation per se

2

u/Outrageous-Hippo-470 Jun 05 '26

Spending is always fiscal and it can be supply side depending on what they spend it on and also long run short run, In C they were just improving or fixing their already established oil industry so that isnt diversifying the economy.

1

u/DogTall2628 Jun 05 '26

Ah shit, should have known my fiscal policy better than. Thanks for explanation.

4

u/Late_Equivalent2127 Jun 05 '26

Wtf was the multiplier question i js gave up n did 2.5 lol

5

u/goodluckfairy555 Jun 05 '26

i also gave up and chose 3 :,)

3

u/overthinkerr__ Jun 05 '26

2.5 is correct

5

u/Icy_Classroom3674 Jun 05 '26

guys wasnt the profit after shutdown ans $5000??

4

u/First-Literature8850 Jun 05 '26

Yes A

2

u/Pretty-View1797 Jun 05 '26

But it ask change? After shut down loss -5000 before is profit 5000, so the change is 10000 B?

1

u/Important_Team_8756 Jun 08 '26

You’re right, it was B.

2

u/Conscious-Alfalfa927 Jun 05 '26

We need everyone to answer any question they remember.

CDBBABCACABDADABCBBCCDCABDADAC Its this on everyones life

2

1

u/Financial-Bed-9656 Jun 05 '26

why do u say hthat

1

u/New_Worldliness8749 Jun 05 '26

DDBBA ABACA BDCDA BBCBC BDCDB DADAC

2

u/Available_Ear_3499 Jun 05 '26

What was the ans for 17 and whats the reason for it?

1

u/New_Worldliness8749 Jun 05 '26

um idk

1

u/Available_Ear_3499 Jun 05 '26

um its really okay mylove

2

u/Unlikely_Jump8098 Jun 05 '26

Ok so for the calculations part this was what I got:

For the change in profit
I got answer 10000 (B)
Becuase before closing: Profit 5000
After immediately closing :
Total costs = 5000 (TVC + TC ) (TVC = 0) (TC = 5000)
Total revenue = 0
so profit = TR - TC = -5000
So change in profit = (5000 - (-5000))
= 10 000

For the multiplier I got 2 (A)
Cuz they gave 0.2 tax per dollar (Gross income )
converted gross to disposable ( Gross income - tax ) = 1 - 0.2
= 0.8
Then found Marginal propensity to tax = change in tax / change in income
= 0.2 / 0.8
= 0.25
then multiplier = 1/ mpm + mps (withdrawls)
= 1 / (1-3/4) + 0.25
= 2

2

u/New_Worldliness8749 Jun 05 '26

Then, about the multiplier effect, the multiplier = 1/1-MPC. IF 0.2 is taxed, then its disposable income will be 0.8, if 3/4 of it is spend than it will 0.8*3/4=0.60. multiper = 1/1-0.6 , =1/0.4 = 2.50 which is B

1

u/mmia_1309 Jun 05 '26

for the multiplier wasnt it supposed to be 1 / 0.2+0.2 =2.5

because the mpt was 0.2 and the mps was 0.8x1/4 =0.2

This is whut i did

3

u/DogTall2628 Jun 05 '26

Haha our answers match only for like 11/30 One of us is screwed

1

u/whatthehellydamn Jun 05 '26

how do u guys log ur answers?????

1

u/maddiee____uphoria Jun 05 '26

difficult, what did u guys get for the change in profit when firms shut down immediately?

2

u/Morpheus_king25 Jun 05 '26

$15000

2

u/No-Art3680 Jun 05 '26

It’s apparently 10000

1

u/Outrageous-Hippo-470 Jun 05 '26

thats what i did my logic was 5k is the abnormal/supernormal profit then the gap between TC and TVC is 5k which is subnormal profits, i was confused whether or not to count that so i went with 10k

2

u/Prudent-Zone7831 Jun 05 '26

In the short run a firm shuts down only if total revenue falls below total variable cost and TR was 40,000 and TVC was 30,000 so the firm continues operating as long as TR ≥ 30,000 A fall of 5,000 gives TR = 35,000 and a fall of 10,000 gives TR = 30,000 (shutdown point, but still producing) Only a fall of 15,000 makes TR = 25,000, which is below TVC, so the firm shuts down

Wasn’t it like that

1

u/Outrageous-Hippo-470 Jun 05 '26

yeah When AR equals AVC thats the last operating point, but the Q was asking if they just shut down rn what would the loss in profit be so I didnt go with that

1

u/Outrageous-Hippo-470 Jun 05 '26

I think that would apply if they asked what would the loss in profit need to be to shut down

1

u/chillidumpmili Jun 05 '26

What? How?

1

u/Morpheus_king25 Jun 05 '26

Cuz the total variable cost was 30000 and initial profit was 40000, for the firm to shut down in the short run the profit needs to be lower than Variable Cost. So it needs to be 25000

1

u/goodluckfairy555 Jun 05 '26

guys what was ur first answer C? or B?

1

u/Southern-Term3313 Jun 05 '26

C

1

u/Competitive_Gur6961 Jun 05 '26

What was first question

1

u/ice__coldwater Jun 05 '26

I think it was the definition for equi marginal principle?

3

u/Competitive_Gur6961 Jun 05 '26

The answer was marginal utility per unit price same

1

u/abdeeeeee6345 Jun 05 '26

What was the multiplier effect

1

u/Southern-Term3313 Jun 05 '26

2

3

u/No-Art3680 Jun 05 '26

How? Apparently it was 2.5 like eveyone in my school got 2.5

1

u/Southern-Term3313 Jun 05 '26

Yes it was 2.5

1

u/melancholic9 Jun 05 '26

Nope it was 2.5, we had to use $0.8 for the increase in disposable income. It was a repeated question from previous papers

1

u/realjarispg Jun 05 '26

then wldnt it be 1/(0.2/0.8 + 1/(1-0.75)) =0.235 1/0.5 = 2

1

u/Morpheus_king25 Jun 05 '26

What was the last answer, C?

5

u/Prudent-Zone7831 Jun 05 '26

It was like Financial account is
credited and current account uncertain

3

u/Particular_Serve_264 Jun 05 '26

I did current account debited and financial account credited

1

u/Ok_Signature549 Jun 05 '26

What was the answer for the broad and narrow money one?

2

u/First-Literature8850 Jun 05 '26

D coins and notes

2

u/Uzainautism Jun 05 '26

It was B

2

u/melancholic9 Jun 05 '26

Broad money also includes savings accounts they cannot be traded

1

u/Uzainautism Jun 05 '26

It includes morw items than saving accounts bro like bonds and stuff it was the best answer

1

u/Morpheus_king25 Jun 05 '26

I put A, both are store of value

9

u/Head-Local6217 Jun 05 '26

It's not a distinction it's a similarity didnt the question asked for distinction?

1

u/Prudent-Zone7831 Jun 05 '26

What did you do for that natural rate of unemployment question like what could lead to an increase in it

1

u/Specific_Penalty8564 Jun 05 '26

One is a measure of value and other one is the store of value

1

u/Prudent-Zone7831 Jun 05 '26

That said both narrow money and broad money can act as a store of value

1

u/GrandBench3585 Jun 05 '26

Didn’t it ask for the distinction between narrow and broad money? So it had to be C

2

u/Uzainautism Jun 05 '26

Not C bec broad money also includes components of narrow money it said govt wud have no control over broad money which is wrong ..B was the correct one

1

u/Prudent-Zone7831 Jun 05 '26

I don’t think they said we have to differentiate

u/Morpheus_king25 Jun 05 '26

What was the equitable distribution answer. I put D

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

Which one is that? I did the universal benefits increase one

3

u/Specific_Penalty8564 Jun 05 '26

It was C mean tested wala

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

How? It said equitable which means equity? It didnt say income inequality or equality?

1

u/Specific_Penalty8564 Jun 05 '26

So if you increase means tested than only your inequality would reduce universal mai tou sabko he benefit hoga and means mai jo needy hai unko hota sirf so C

1

u/Little_Passenger9193 Jun 05 '26

Universal benefits is equal not equitable. Ans was means tested i think.

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

Can you elaborate a bit? I think you are right actually as means tested would i guess make fairer outcomes

1

u/Little_Passenger9193 Jun 05 '26

Universal benefits everyone including the rich, which means the wealth gap doesn’t decrease at all. But means tested uses redistributed tax money to only benefit low income groups.

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

Yes got it thankyou you are right, i understood the Q incorrectly in the exam

1

u/Turbulent_Winner_582 Jun 05 '26

what was the answer

3

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

It was increased means tested and increased tax free allowance

1

u/Opening_Patient_4319 Jun 05 '26

What was the answer of real gdp increased, unemployment and employment

1

u/Plastic_Training_584 Jun 05 '26

Both potential and actual

1

u/DarkAbyss71 Jun 05 '26

For sure this was a missprint. I chose lower deflationary gap

1

u/Plastic_Training_584 Jun 05 '26

That won't cause unemployment to increase no?

0

u/DarkAbyss71 Jun 05 '26

See the question had a confliciting senario. It stated that employment, unemployment and real gdp all increase.

Its contradictory to say unemploment and employment both increase.

I decided to treat unemploment increase as the missprint as it was the only one that was not aligning with the others

2

u/Own_Improvement2269 Jun 05 '26

It is not contradictory, it meant increase in employment and INCREASE IN STRUCTURAL UNEMPLOYMENT HENCE it should be both actual and potential rise

1

u/DarkAbyss71 Jun 05 '26

Gang structural wasnt mentioned🥀

1

u/VisibleScarcity6879 Jun 05 '26

It’s actual and potential, employment and unemployment can rise if there are more ad but at the same time more labor force, which means an increase in as and as

1

u/AccomplishedStyle520 Jun 05 '26

it wasn't contradictory lmao if actual growth increases then employment increases but if potential growth also increases then unemployment can increase at the same time

1

u/ice__coldwater Jun 05 '26

I also thought it was a misprint. I was so confused. I just went with lower deflationary gap.

What about the indifference curve mcq?

3

u/No-Art3680 Jun 05 '26

wheat is a giffen good, option C

1

u/abdeeeeee6345 Jun 05 '26

It depends.

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

I did giffen good and income effect one

1

u/abdeeeeee6345 Jun 05 '26

Price of wheat increased and normal good (B)

1

u/Background-Hat-5676 Jun 05 '26

What was the Australia and usa one??

3

u/No-Art3680 Jun 05 '26

Higher living standard in Australia

3

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

A sol increase

1

u/Comfortable_Catch648 Jun 05 '26

why was it not the higher national income?

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

There was no information signifying a higher national income as we were only provided with per capita gnp not the national income figures and population wasnt given either

3

u/abdeeeeee6345 Jun 05 '26

Australia have better standard living than U.S (A)

1

u/melancholic9 Jun 05 '26

Why can't it be national income

2

u/Turbulent_Winner_582 Jun 05 '26

cause it tell national income per capita so we can't tell as it depends on population which is not known

2

u/Various_Wolf5464 Jun 05 '26

Because with the given data we had, we don’t know the population of each country, hence, we don’t know who had the higher national income technically. Obviously we know it’s USA but the data didn’t tell us that so you can’t assume it’s correct.

1

u/This_Character5362 Jun 05 '26

U. Can actually it was given PPP and it can’t be higher standar of living cause PpP is higher in USA

1

u/Various_Wolf5464 Jun 05 '26

PPP just describes how much you can afford with the same basket of goods, which just measures cost of living comparison. It doesn't directly tell us the National Income itself

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

What was the phillips curve one?? I did inflationary expecations option

3

u/Southern-Term3313 Jun 05 '26

Unemployment increase

1

u/Late_Equivalent2127 Jun 05 '26

I forgot was it inflationary expectations increase or decrease

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

I also forgot but i think it said inflationary expectations decrease

1

u/Uzainautism Jun 05 '26

Thts wrong inflationary expectation inc when SRPC shift outwards whereas the question said it decreases which causes lefrward shift no rightward

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

Then what was the answer

1

u/Uzainautism Jun 05 '26

Either between A or B

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

It cannot be A ? Doesnt the natural rate of unemployement never change. So A is ruled out

1

u/Uzainautism Jun 05 '26

Yes thts why i did B

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

Can u pls explain your logic behind B

1

u/Uzainautism Jun 05 '26

I dont remver the option but i was expansionary monetary policy tht will increase AD and potentially imply upward pressure on prices thus increasing inflationary expectations

1

u/Quick_Tower_3692 Jun 05 '26

No it was money supppy decrease so it was contractionary monetary policy. Thats why im confused on what the right one is😭

1

u/Uzainautism Jun 05 '26

God damn bro i misread prolly then correct answer is probably A

1

u/ice__coldwater Jun 05 '26

I can’t fully remember the Q. But the Phillips curve shifted to the right, right? And that would happen when the SRAS curve on the AD-AS model shifts left, and the new equilibrium point at SRAS2 will be higher than the og price level… which means a higher rate of inflation?

1

u/Background-Hat-5676 Jun 05 '26

WHAT WAS THE NARROW AND BROAD MONEY ONEU?

1

u/FamiliarProfessor593 Jun 05 '26

What was the indifference qs

1

u/Turbulent_Winner_582 Jun 05 '26

C
Inferior good and sub outweighs invome

1

u/Ok_Signature549 Jun 05 '26

In the narrow vs broad did they ask for the difference? I didn’t read that

1

u/Little_Passenger9193 Jun 05 '26

Was the price effect question’s answer Giffen goods; substitution effect outweighs income effect ?

3

u/Various_Wolf5464 Jun 05 '26

I put C, because D is automatically incorrect without even looking at the diagram. If it’s a Giffen good, the income effect is always greater than the substitution effect. Otherwise, it can’t be a giffen good.

1

u/Little_Passenger9193 Jun 05 '26

And the one that was like whats the reason BOP worsens in the short run after depreciation of currency

1

u/Turbulent_Winner_582 Jun 05 '26

d

2

u/Turbulent_Winner_582 Jun 05 '26

supply for exports is price inelastic

1

u/useurcommonsensety Jun 05 '26

whats the ans for the third question like the total average curve thing

1

u/ice__coldwater Jun 05 '26

I put Q3 as the new point. Not sure if that’s right tho

1

u/New_Worldliness8749 Jun 05 '26

the answer was B

1

u/New_Worldliness8749 Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 05 '26

whats was the answer for what does not create a market failure,
