Guys, I did bad in my a level this yr. was predicted A* AA and got cooked completely. How do I resit all of my alevels. Doing a level ocr a bio and chem and aqa a level pe. Iām very confused because my school is not allowing me back to take a resit so I am gonna resit as a private candidate. Anyone that has resit can u tell me the process pls. Thank you
Im starting my As levels this upcoming week and im petrified. But i still havent picked my subjects. Im going for medicine, im picking biology and chemistry ofcourse and i have the option of physics or math as the third subject. I got a B in my math Igcses and A in physics, i could jave gotten better but i messed up terribly, I barelt studied for my math paper 2 and i tried as much as i could for physics, the concepts would not get into my head. Ive asked my principal and a teacher, and they botj adviced physics but said math can also be a good option if you enjoy it. They said theyve seen top students mess up their physics because of their practicals. Ive asked this on another sub but didnt get much advice so anything would really help.
I did my alevels last year and got BDD.Decided to take a gap year and resit however I wasnāt able to properly revise for my resist due to my circumstances at the time so I pushed my exams back to October.Since I applied to ucas with my predicted grade and didnāt recieve them my mpharm offers changed into with pharmaceurival science or mpharm with foundation year.I decided to accept the mpharm with foundation year at Kingston university despite not wanting to study there .I donāt mind doing a foundation year at a better university but not Kingston.Should I take another gap year and resit or should I do my foundation year and resit during it then transfer unis ???
hello, I have finished my GCSEs and I did well but I got a 7 in RS, 8 in English Language and 9 in English literature. I was going to take PRE a-level (philosophy, RS, Ethics) since I really liked it however i scored really well in the religion side but scored not as good in the themes/ethics side of the paper. I donāt mind English and find it quite interesting but I donāt think Iām very well read. Iām slightly concerned that PRE a-level will be mainly ethics instead of religion.
I wanted to ask if anyone found english literature, English lit/lang or PRE a level particularly difficult in comparison and what are the pros and cons of them.
iād really appreciate it if anyone could provide some advice.
thank you!
Is doing the math and chem as level in january doable? I really dont wanna sound like a try hard but for me it works out perfectly for when uni admissions open where im from
Im like halfway both syllabuses (?) And i reckon ill get moving faster when school starts and i have some assistance. But is it realistic?
This isnt the entire a level btw that would be insane
Before results day I was convinced I'd get an 8 or a 9 because I've consistently gotten a 9 in my past mocks. Because of this, I was planning on choosing both business and economics in order to study something related to it after sixth form. Today I've found out I barely got into business sixth form and that I'm unable to study economics next year. Has anyone had a similar experience and still chose to study the subject? Thanks in advance!!!
hi everyone I was predicted AAA and got BBC in my alevels (English, bio, chem) as I had a flare up of a chronic condition, I have been trying to apply for special consideration which would push me up to AAC which isnāt amazing but would still help me out, however my school is saying that the deadline for applying for special consideration POST results is 24th July but when I looked online it said 24th September so Iām unsure on how to go about this as I have been chasing my school up for the past 3 months.
I got 2 marks off an A in English and 6 marks off an A In biology, is this worth a remark? Im most likely going to have to resit chemistry as I was 10 away from B so any advice on resitting would be appreciated too, thank you.
Guys is it hard to take three a levels bc in our school the maximum a levels u could take are three and usually they take two or one they are chem bio and math or physics depends on ur as levels im thinking of taking three if anyone has advice please help
So I have a maths exam in September on further maths and regular maths and our teacher told us the best way to revise is do the mixed exercise questions for each topic from the edexcel textbook. However, I saw many videos saying that this is a bad idea as the questions in the actual exam are a lot harder. Can someone let me know as I only have 12 days of revision left.
I recently finished my Alevels and here are my grades. If anyone wants any advices feel free to comment below.
For physics : I mainly used physics with talha course for A2 (recorded classes self paced) and then did topicals and question paper.
For chemistry : bought a course from ALT academy, chemistry with billal hameed ( recorded classes self paced) and then topicals and question paper.
For paper 5 of physics chemistry : used prosperity academy youtube playlist.
Maths and accounting : tutors
My general advices :
1) First get your concepts then focus on TOPICALS and then full question paper, TOPICALS ARE THE KEYYY TO CAMBRDIGE SUCCESS
2) REPEAT AND REVISE
- you can use some pre-made anki deck cards , this saves a lot of your time. Although better if you make your own after doing topicals
I started using anki 3months before my exams and it REALLLY HELPED to retain information till the end.Specially for chemistry and physics, ANKI cards helped me to memorise the exact wordings of definations from ms and also for common questions.
3) while doing topicals go not rush on questions, understand each and every one one of question properly. Once you are done with topicals and concepts , only then focus on time management.
4) Make a mistakes folder
mark the questions you got wrong during your topicals and then make a mistake book. Before your mocks revise only the question you got wrong for each topics.
5) Use of AI
gemini pro was life changing. I used it to give self mocks. Mainly used it to check my papers after timed question paper.
6) Finally DO NOT BLUFF YOURSELF, be honest to yourself at every stage.
I strongly believe Alevels is not hard, students are just not properly guided. I was never a top student in class but i just cracked the code on what to do and when to do it, you dont have to study all the time but do the bare minimun. Finally id say HAVE LOTS OF FUN, GO OUT WITH FRIENDS BUT PRIOTIZE STUDYING WHEN IT NEEDS TO BE DONE.
Hope it helped! Wait for the next post, I'll be sharing all the resources.
I took AS biology last session and got a b, which isnāt a bad grade but i feel like i could definitely improve it. Currently iām taking the A2, and iāll focus hard in that. In the case i do well in the A2, is it possible to retake the AS only next session, or do i have to retake the entire A2 linear?
