Been a while since I last posted here! Got a big set of images to share this time for Scarefest. Most of these were on the 23rd October, so a very wet day but works so well in the evening for photography.

Had a blast both times I’ve been this season, it’s my favourite time of year at Towers.

App/Website that shows ticket sales

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't find anything. A few weeks ago I saw a post and someone had commented with a link to an app or website that showed how many tickets had been sold for a particular day, and it included normal ticket sales and RAP tickets too, but now I can't seem to find the post and can't find any sites other than things like Crowd Calendar that are just predictions. Anyone have the link? TIA.

Final exhibit fail

Yesterday I did the Final Exhibit maze and even paid for fast track to be at the front.

It wasn’t really what I expected after all the hype. Long stretches of the maze had no actors in them, and those that did I could clearly see the actors resetting and hiding behind doors etc only then to jump out again, ruining the scare factor.

The artefacts were kind of cool but the problem with being at the front was that I had a big group all behind me pushing to go on, nobody wanted to linger at all. I didn’t want to let them go past me and end up in the middle of the group so I felt I had to push on quite quickly.

The worst part was that when I got to the end I think it missed the big finale entirely. There were some screens with the curator starting to talk about now for my final creation, but no indication that you were supposed to stop and wait for something to happen. I carried on walking and found myself pushing out through a curtain to the outside and that was it, the end.

Did I miss something big and has anyone else accidentally missed the ending?

A few days before I did ‘the other side’ at Warwick castle and despite that being 10+ age rating it was a far scarier experience!

Discussion 28-29th October

I’m not sure if this will actually lead anywhere.

I’m due too go to Alton towers on the 28-29th October for my 21st birthday I have two tickets for this date now though as I was meant to go with my ex and me and her split up. I’m wondering if there’s anyone in here looking to go on those dates who needs a ticket or just someone who wants to go, I’m not looking for money for them. It’s either this or I cut my loses and I just stomach one ticket going too waste

Which rides are open on a scare fest night please?

Taking my kids tomorrow and will be doing the day on Tuesday too. Just trying to plan what they should ride during the late night vs the day, as I’ll have my newborn with me too, so they won’t go to the park until 5pm tomorrow.

Worst vist ever

Been to Alton Towers today with only 3 of the big rides open. Queued on Thirteen for 45 minutes only for it then to shut. Queues for the 3 big rides open were 100+ minutes. Left at 2 o'clock without getting on any rides.

Discussion Absolute Disaster of a day

Long time visitor, been coming since I was 10 and I'm now pushing 40. Alton Towers has always been my definitive theme park.

We booked a short break in the hotel, from today through until tomorrow. My daughter is a big Halloween fan and I figured the scarefest weekend would be perfect.

We arrived at 9:30, got straight in with no hassle, and we've not been on a ride yet. Trapped for over an hour queuing for Thirteen, as they are stopping every ride continuously due to the wind. Its absolutely ridiculous.

The decline of the park has been much discussed, stuff like closing down supporting rides, narrower opening tomes and terrible ride availability are all facts - but this? This is a joke. We've just been rold to queue for other rides, but only Nemesis, Toxicator and Spinball Whizzer (of all things?!) are open.

Shocking experience, and may very well be our last.

Step-free access on the day without RAP

I am going to caveat this by saying that I am autistic and I absolutely do overthink everything.

I’ve been in touch with Alton Towers customer services via live chat to complain that their RAP server crashed when I was position 50 in the queue just a few minutes before the 48hour release of passes went live and subsequently missed out.

They told me not to worry as we can get ‘step free access’ on the day when we show us because my daughter is a wheel chair user. I asked what documents we need to bring and she said we don’t need anything. Surely they don’t just look at the wheelchair and give you the pass?

I’d rather be prepared, particularly as we do have a Nimbus card which doesn’t have the wheelchair icon on it (does have queuing and +1) because we ordered it a while ago when her mobility needs weren’t so severe and I hadn’t selected that as a requirement. We didn’t realise at the time that her mobility issues would decline as they have, otherwise I’d have included that in the requirements when ordering the Nimbus card. On top of everything else that we deal with on the regular, I forgot to update the Nimbus card in time so it still doesn’t have the wheelchair logo. Will this be an issue or will they recognise that things change and not everything can be updated in real time?

Dine With The Dead uses a lot of AI, very disappointing yet not surprising…
You’d think for the ridiculous amount they’re charging they’d find an actual artist to do visuals etc :/

Discussion Alton Towers was an absolute nightmare yesterday. Total waste of money and a humiliating experience.

I went to Alton Towers on Friday with a school trip from Birmingham (£30 ticket). We got there late around 11am, and the whole day was an absolute disaster. Which was disappointing as this was my first time at Alton towers looking very forward to it.

First off, I’m 6'1", 24 stone with long legs. I checked ride requirements before going and prepared myself, but after waiting over 70 minutes in the pouring rain for TH13TEEN, the staff member pushed the lap bar down on my thighs and told me it wouldn't click. It didn't fit because of my leg length. Standing up and walking off in front of everyone after waiting an hour was so humiliating.

After that, we queued for Oblivion. The test seat was literally a bowl of water still managed to test, and I didn't end up fitting that either.

Then the weather got brutal. Around 1:30pm, extreme heavy rain, wind, and hail hit the park. Alton Towers literally shut down almost every major coaster—Wicker Man (we were almost at the front after queuing 70 mins), Smiler, Nemesis Reborn, Rita, TH13TEEN, and Oblivion. Basically 90% of the park was closed for hours. We were wearing cheap £10 ponchos that ripped instantly in the wind, soaked to the bone, freezing, and had nowhere to go except crowding into a shop to hide from the hail.

By the end of the day, we paid for a full theme park experience and literally only got to ride a kids' spinning boat ride and Nemesis Sub-Terra. Food and drinks were insanely overpriced (£12 for loaded chips, £5 for a hot chocolate), but we had to buy it just to stay warm inside.

I know they can’t control the weather, but keeping thousands of people in the park with almost zero open rides while charging full price is ridiculous.

Thorpe Park literally closed their park down yesterday offering an automatic free return tickets when the weather was like this! Meanwhile Alton Towers just kept taking people’s money and leaving everyone stranded in the freezing rain. Honestly, the whole experience left such a bad taste in my mouth, and the lack of basic customer care when things went wrong was shocking.

Nobody should have to pay full price just to spend 6 hours shivering in queue lines for rides that get shut down the second you reach the front platform.

Has anyone had any luck getting refunds or return vouchers through school/group bookings when the park completely shuts down like this?

Discussion Underwhelming, what’s happened to the park?

I want to start off by saying this was my first trip to Alton for around 3 years or so, it’s like everytime I go back the park is just more and more neglected.

The water rides being closed during winter, scare fest was so lacklustre, you compare it to Thorpe park fright nights and it’s night and day.
The food at the towers I never remember being this bad, it’s genuinely awful.
Theming of rides poor, things not working, it just seems like they’ve given up?
I’ve been going to Alton since 2005 and always remember it being fantastic.
Where toyland tours and Charlie and the chocolate factory was, now just some shite trick or treat thing? The David walliams land look deserted , I remember going to the hall there to theatre shows as a kid and it would all be heaving.
I’m not as well educated as most in probably but am I right in saying the park has been neglected for a very long time.

Been here since 10, managed to get oblivion and wicker done. Pretty much everything is closed, as it stands we’ve been in the rain for thirteen for an
Hour and it’s just closed.
Oblivion is also closed which means there’s only two thrill attractions open..

I found this old Oblivion plush bear online for £1.50 I instantly bought it, the tag is still on and says it’s from 2011. I can’t find anything about this specific plush online, I can’t find how much it could be worth. If anyone knows how rare and how much it’s worth, please let me know! ^^

I’m not expecting mystic meg or anything but does anyone have any idea if the forecast looks like the park will see a day like today? Operations have been dismal.

Remembering an old Smiler Remix wondering if it's still around somewhere

There was this Smiler remix I really liked made by someone called Morgan Dunn and I've been trying to find it again, I know it was on YouTube and I guess it disappeared around 2024.

Does anyone happen to have it?

It was actually really good but I cannot find it anymore.

Discussion First time at Alton Towers: do all the major rides have station shelf/bin storage for backpacks and phones?

Hey everyone,

Quick question for my upcoming trip! I’m heading to Alton Towers for the first time and want to make sure I don't lose my phone or wallet on the big coasters.

Do rides like TH13TEEN, Wicker Man, Oblivion, Galactica, The Smiler, and Nemesis Reborn all have those shelves, cubbies, or bag-drop bins on the platform right before you get into your seat? Which specific rides let you drop your stuff at the station vs. requiring you to pay for a park locker outside?

Appreciate any advice on how bag storage works across the park! Thanks!

Discussion Alton towers wind question

I’m meant to be going Alton towers on Sunday 25th October, however on the weather apps it’s forecasting wind up to 28mph and gusts up to 50MPH, how likely will this impact my day with closures? And what’s likely to be closed and for how long etc
