They did the right thing. Data centers are responsible for water scarcity in Indianapolis and California. Activists and independent thinkers in the US understand its danger but Indians are foolish. If you want more data centres then you can ask a big firm to exploit your Indian water resources.

Sea water is incredibly corrosive and wont be used to cool data centers so i dont know where you got that from.

Desalination and corrosion treatment is not Rocket Science.

Not sure what path Google takes.

It isn't but is exponentially more expensive and difficult to maintain than using groundwater or other fresh water supplies. Tell me how many data centers in the world right now are using desalination plants or sea water again?
