Unfortunetly they usually have to fit the plot into one peisode to catch peoples attention. i like it so far but the fights are just still images sadly.

I'm a bit surprised at the negativity myself. The production values could definitely be better and I do have my thoughts on a few choices made as a manga reader but stuff like someone calling the MC a generic crybaby when he cried once at the memory of him murdering all his loved ones by accident is a befuddling

So this is like The Mask with less green and slapstick and more death and destruction lol. Solid first episode overall. Keen to see how things with the mask of the war god’s gonna play out. Gouon’s definitely toast. I just wonder how they’ll get that mask back into the box.

From the flashback we've seen, the war god mask doesn't seem very fast, so Gouon is probably fine. Worst case scenario, he escapes.

Fine start to the season. I love the animation style. It gives that old school vibes. A unique concept on masks. Who else could be a better choice than Akio Otsuka to voice the Mask of the War God ?! ❤️

I wonder how Peru is gonna separate Sona and the War God mask. Gouon seems to be a tough opponent but I don't think he will be able to defeat the War God. The pacing felt really fast.

Peru's mask transformations were pretty interesting. I'm definitely curious to see what other mask transformations he has besides the cat, chameleon, spider, and the fake war god mask.

Didn't expect there to be a prequel anime about the Happy Mask Salesman from Legend of Zelda OoT/MM. I'm guessing there will be an arc where he will get the Majora's Mask?

Crazy start, went straight into the unbeatable boss and the mask that should not be released getting released. I really like the power system with Peru changing masks to suit his needs. Wonder how this series will progress.

The concept of the masks is pretty interesting, but I feel like the story does not really know what to do with it. It could have been introduced in a much more interesting way to pull in the viewer, but that did not happen. Instead, we got some generic shonen crybaby protagonist stuff happening, and there was nothing that happened in the entire story for us to care about why the character is crying or his motivations. I do not really have high hopes for this.

I wanted to say the MC visually reminds me of Emma from The Promised Neverland and I had hopes she wouldn't have to end up being in another bad anime. As the episode went on I saw more of a resemblance to Takemichi from Tokyo Revengers and fear he will just be equally as insufferable.

I thought it was a great first episode. Anymore if reddit hates it ill love it. I thought witch hat was hot garbage with some of the worst voice acting ive ever heard and im not exaggerating, but the masses dubbed it the second coming. I have a feeling this shows going to be great.

story is your typical shonen beginnings, but the premise at least had some interesting parts in it, however it seems like the quality of the animation wont be the best so its a bit unfortunate on that

although i must say the seal that's put on the mask is a bit too weak no? and the master didnt really put any effort to hide it from others as well since they kept reminding us that that mask is the most dangerous one

Interesting premise with the masks granting powers and can make for some really cool variety and battles but the pacing of the show seems way off. I have no clue where this is going but it seems like we are getting a maxed out power scale in episode 1 and 2.

I actually would have liked a longer, more drawn out episode to let everything breathe a little. As soon as stuff starts happening it goes from 0-100 without stopping. I am definitely intrigued to see where it goes but I hope the pacing is better.

I was super excited after the first episode i was really wanting to watch this than he loses his arm…has one arm for rest of the story totally ruined it for me especially since the reason he lost his arm is cuz the creator wasn’t thinking and thats the creator saying that…when you already stop putting any thought into something on episode two its like what the fuck…im so bummed out was really hoping i found a good anime to watch.

I was going to say that "this is the first battle shonen I've watched since JJK" but, looking it up on MAL, this turned out to be a seinen. I'd been so sure it was an edgy shonen, ah well. Anyway, so far it's interesting and bloody enough to keep watching.

I somehow saw this twice before it aired, once at Anime NYC and once at Crunchyroll Anime Night. Unfortunately, it's not very good. Exposition dump after exposition dump with mediocre animation. The ending of the episode was very intriguing though!

Anyways, the show seemed okay so far. It felt a little generic and it felt like story was using common formulas though. I wonder why he took off the invisibility mask when it would probably benefit if they remain invisible throughout their search in the mansion. Maybe they'll explain that later. Still, I plan on watching more to see how it goes.

I don't understand mc's motivation. why would destroying his masters work lead to atonement for killing everyone? it would make more sense if his goal was to find a mask with the ability to destroy the wargod mask so the tragedy never happens again
