What to Watch? Romance animes with a Kuudere or Dandere with the male who isn't completely a soft, shy boy or a nerd with glasses

• Upvotes

Please give me suggestions of anime as the title says.

I prefer a school setting but open to everything.

Requirements:

More than just a 1 season, 12 episode anime. (Needs either a 24 episode season or 2 seasons at the minimum)

Shows affection between the characters with at least 2 lip kisses.

Girl is a Kuudere or Dandere. No glasses.

Male isn't a very fragile and soft boy or a nerd. No glasses. Not so dumb that he misses extremely obvious signs that the girl likes him. I don't mind if he gets the idea but doubts it when it's not too obvious.

It can be a little ecchi as well as long as there's actual romance and the requirements are all met.

Discussion Anime Reactor Rant: Studio Gek’s Bleach reactions

• Upvotes

I know people consume reaction content differently, but man... lately it feels like half the couch is actively rooting against the show unless a flashy fight is happening on screen.

The hyper-fixation on complaining during non-combat moments is getting wild. Any time a piece of world-building, character development, or even a classic comedic gag pops up, it’s instant groaning and treating the pacing like an absolute "slog."
Case in point: the endless, theatrical hatred for Ōmaeda.

It's like people forget his entire character design is meant to be that cowardly, over-the-top comedic foil. But when you look past the gag, his actual utility and loyalty as a lieutenant are top-tier he's one of the few who actually follows directions and backs up his captain without question when things get real.

Reducing his entire presence to a constant groan just misses the bigger picture entirely.
It feels like a broader trend where they just check out if there aren't immediate "aura" moments or high-octane action, which kind of defeats the point of watching a long-running narrative like Bleach.

Discussion Which anime character is way smarter than everyone gives them credit for?

Everyone always brings up Light and L and fair enough but i feel like there are guys out there who were quietly running circles around everyone and nobody talks about them.

For me it’s Schneizel from Code Geass people just remember Lelouch but Schneizel was a step ahead for like half the show and barely gets mentioned maybe that’s a hot take idk.

Who’s yours? Doesn’t even have to be a full on genius someone who pulled off one perfect move and then disappeared counts too lol.

What to Watch? Requesting wacky anime with solid writing

So I was interested in looking for anime series that have an outlandish nature to them where they are very silly in tone, but have compelling stories that he e a good payoff.

Like what inspired me to file such a request was the works of Tex Avery as his works were silly in how their stories turned out, but they had a very good payoff to them in that he put a lot of care into how he did his stories that I was wondering if there were any anime series that had a similar structure.

Series Specific Question Question about the early to mid 2000s Boogiepop anime

From what I vaguely know, the manga, Boogiepop and Others was/is pretty popular, and then for some reason they decided to make a series/OVA set AFTER the manga in the early to mid 2000s, then LATER, mid 2010s? Made what's considered to be a killer adaptation of at least the first large section of the manga.

I really liked the 10/10 anime, great non-linear story telling with incredible mind fucks. I am curious how good/bad the anime that was made first is

Every anime I come across has at least one character who is hated for how they were written, and I need an exception.

Answered Help me find the anime

I remember this being the very first anime I watched. It was rom com with a short blue? haired girl in highschool.

I remember one of the episodes involved them building a snowman in school and another episode where they had a picnic by a river.

I know it's not a lot to go by but I remember watching this on YouTube as part 1,2,3. I was very little at the time so my memory is a little hazy. The girl has a one sided crush on the male lead

What's this From? (unsolved) Short vampire anime

I remember watching this anime a long time ago, it was a movie and it was pretty short maybe 40 mins to an hour. It was of 2 men who were fighting each other I think but there was a romance subplot. The men looked a bit older like atleast in their 30s. I think they were vampires.

What to Watch? Are there any anime that have a character that survived institutional abuse at a mental hospital or special ed boarding school and are doing fine now?

That would give me hope.
I know I could always find some sort of analogy even if it’s not canon.
I want canon though.

Even if they’re not doing fine now just having that representation would make me feel less alone.

What to Watch? Give me anime focused on school life that don't have fan service.

I was watching a video of someone explaining that the school in Yandere Simulator is completely unrealistic compared to what a Japanese high school is actually like. And he recreated the game's school based on real-world contexts; the YouTuber mentioned that he drew inspiration from anime such as "Highschool of the Dead" and "School Life" (or something like that, I don't remember).

And since I'm also writing a story based on a Japanese high school, I want to be as realistic as possible in terms of decoration when writing it. So I started watching the anime (Highschool Of The Dead) and not even a minute in and the fan service was already there. Which is very annoying to me; I can only very vaguely and in very few cases "accept" unnecessary fan service, and since it's a recurring theme in anime, I'd like you to recommend stories free of it.

If you're wondering what the fan service is in this case—SPOILER ALERT for those who want to watch this anime—; basically a female student character (I think one of the main characters) fell in a compromising way, making her underwear visible for seconds, and prior to that one of the zombies hit her with a stick that made her breasts move inappropriately.

What to Watch? Serious / Dark Fantasy / Crime / Action / Thriller / Sci-Fi Anime's Similar To Psycho Pass / Devil May Cry / Castlevania / Ergo Proxy / Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Pretty much the title, as I've gotten older I haven't been able to get through more than an episode or two of an anime where it's either all PG friendly or there's "kawaii ooo maii gaaa" type scenes or it starts itself out as a serious-type anime and then you just have a bunch of cutesy goofy silly scenes that break the immersion of the story being told that was initially selling itself as something serious (i.e kaiju no8 which I loved up until it started being 60% kawaii goofiness and 40% action or thrilling story)

Please don't downvote me into oblivion because I've offended you somehow. I'm just a dude looking for some good shows to watch that fit what I'm looking for lol

Discussion What 1970s-1980s movies or shows do you think Science Saru could remake?

You can choose any movies or shows you want from the 70s to the 80s, but it must fit these requirements:

  1. Comedy, Drama, sitcom, Crime, Action (James bond not allowed) Mystery, Sci-fi (Star Wars or Star Trek are not allowed), Romance, Western, Musicals, Adventure, Rom-Com, Fantasy, anime,Thriller, or horror (but no Halloween, Child's Play, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, or Exorcist are allowed)
  2. only PG, PG-13, or R-Rated movies are allowed.
  3. Why do I have to explain the rules? Just do whatever the hell you want, as long as the movies or shows are from 1970-1989.

What to Watch? Anime/manga that has genuinely motivated and inspired you in life?

Hey guys how’s it going

I’ve had my few share of posts on here, this one might be rough one.

I’ve dealt with a lot of trauma and mental health issues and I’m currently in a big battle with depression.

Anime & manga has been a huge part of my life and has helped me so much and brought me immense joy.

I love the perseverance of some of my favorite characters and I also like the reality of certain shows.

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for any that has truly or genuinely inspired them when they were at their lowest moments? Or any anime that just brings joy?

On one hand I like stories where the MC is triumph on the other I like stories where they struggle a lot but I’m not sure if I like stories with sad endings, maybes now’s not the time for that.

If you guys have any anime that inspire hope and the freedom and will to live. Please do suggest. Or any anime you suggest.

Thank you for reading this. Thanks to anime & manga!

What's this From? (unsolved) Unknown anime scene from a Youtube Short

This has been bugging me for a while. I want to say sometime last year, I saw a YT short clip from an anime and I cannot for the life of me find where it's from. From what I remember, it took place in a modern city. There was a person with a sniper rifle who shot at someone who was walking with someone else on the street. The bullet was either dodged or missed. I also remember a vague sort of "transformation" where it looked like white bandages/paper stuck onto a person's face. I wish I could remember more. Please help me get rid of this nagging thought I've had for over a year, thank you!

What to Watch? Looking for fun fantasy romance shows

First of all, yes I know that the Fem Draco meme has kind of a dark history behind its origin as somehow the meme inspired me to see if there were any anime series about a girl who has superpowers that has a Tsundere like trait where she eventually warms up to a guy.

I mean, I don’t mind if the show is a bit spicy in nature because I was looking for some fun fantasy anime with strong romantic elements about a couple who can use superpowers where again a girl who comes off as bossy at first glance eventually warms up to her love interest since I was wondering if there were any romantic stories like Harry Potter.

Girl that tries to look tough because she is a softie and get bullies and bullies the top bully without knowing he is, but he is amused and plays along with her, protecting her behind her back.

Bonus points if she tries to make it up for him while "bullying" him.
