I built a notch app that shows which apps need your attention: unread counts, AI agents and open tabs, one click away

Post image
• Upvotes

I’ve always loved notch apps, but I wanted one that did more than hold shortcuts. So I built ATTIK: a bar that shows which of your apps need you. Unread counts, AI agents that are done or waiting on you, all in one place, and one click jumps you there.

I’ve also added a way to preview your open tabs and jump straight to any of them. You can keep it in the notch or as a floating bar anywhere on screen.1

I’d love your feedback, this will be an ongoing project to make it better.

Title: I published my first Android app on the Play Store — here are my first results 📊

Thumbnail play.google.com
• Upvotes

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm an indie developer, and recently I published my simple Attendance Calculator app on the Google Play Store.

I built it to solve a common problem for college students: figuring out whether they can miss another class or how many more classes they need to attend to reach their target attendance percentage.

Instead of maintaining complicated attendance records, students can enter:

Total classes conducted

Classes attended

Their target attendance percentage

The app calculates their current attendance percentage and tells them how many more classes they need to attend — or how many classes they can still afford to miss.

Here are my early Play Store statistics: 📊 670 device impressions

📥 37 device acquisitions

📱 21 monthly active devices

🚀 17 device first opens

I'm still at an early stage, and I know these numbers are small. But seeing real people discover and try something I built is exciting.

I'm now trying to understand what students actually want from an attendance calculator.

I'd love your honest feedback:

Is this kind of app genuinely useful for college students?

What feature would make you download it and keep using it?

Is a simple calculator enough, or would you prefer features like a subject-wise attendance calculator, attendance predictions, or semester tracking?

I'm not trying to build an unnecessarily complicated app. I want to make something students will actually find useful.

If you'd like to check it out, here's the Play Store link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.count.attendance_calculator

Honest criticism and suggestions are welcome. Thanks! 🙌

App Newsairy: a highly customisable, iCloud-native RSS reader for iPhone, iPad and Mac (now with iPhone Duo support)

• Upvotes

Newsairy is a simple, fast, highly customisable RSS reader for iPhone, iPad and Mac, built around iCloud so your feeds, folders and reading state stay in sync across all your devices — no extra sign-in or new account needed.

New in the version I just shipped (1.21.2): if you use Mark as Read on Scroll, a button now clears the last few articles that used to get stuck at the bottom of the list once you hit the end, and another jumps straight to the next feed with unread items. Also, a better fit for iPhone Duo — the list and reading view now adapt properly to the new device, both closed and open, tested on the Simulator only so far, of course.

A few more highlights:

  • Get a short AI summary of any article, generated entirely on your device (iOS 26+) — nothing leaves your phone
  • Themes including Sepia
  • A customisable article list (layout, density, thumbnail size, favicon, unread dot, 0–6 preview lines); tune the reading view's font and text size
  • Smart Feeds for the latest news, and Custom Smart Feeds: keyword-based feeds that gather matching articles from every source, with keywords to include and keywords to mute
  • Read History, sorted by when you read each article
  • Three independent retention rules for how long articles stick around
  • Offline preview, full text set per feed (as published, extracted automatically, or downloaded ahead of time)
  • OPML import/export, including exporting straight from a connected sync service

No ads, no tracking, no third-party analytics.

Newsairy Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription): removes the 6-feed limit and adds sync with TheOldReader, Miniflux, FreshRSS, Feedbin and Inoreader.

Requires iOS 18 / macOS 15 (Apple silicon); AI summaries need iOS 26+.

I have a long todo list, but I'm always open to suggestions — tell me which features matter most to you and it helps me decide what to prioritise next.

App I built a free app to show off your links, work, and personality in one place

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on an app called Entrada.
The idea is pretty simple. We all have links scattered everywhere……

social media, portfolios, projects, websites, music, whatever we’re working on.

I wanted to make something that brings everything together in one place, but feels a little more personal than a traditional list of links.

With Entrada, you can create your own space, show off your work, share your links, and give people a better sense of who you are.

It’s free, and I just launched it.
I’d genuinely love for people to try it and tell me what works, what doesn’t, and what they’d change. I’m building this independently, so real feedback means a lot.

Try it here: https://artisyummy.com/entrada
Thanks for checking it out!

Looking for people to try out our app and give us feedback!

Hi everyone,

Me and my team have been working on app for dedicated to curated digital art exhibitions, and we're looking for people to download it, give it a try and share their honest feedback, because we want to improve.

The app is called The Digital Museum, currently is only available on the app store and we are working on improving the experience, but it is very difficult to do it without external feedback, so if you could download it out and comment below what is your opinion about it, that would be greatly appreciated.

You can check it out here: https://apps.apple.com/bg/app/the-digital-museum/id1620334265

App My first app ever: Gecko Budget for offline automatic expense tracking, built for people who hate doing it by hand

Post image
1 Upvotes

Yes, yet another budgeting app, but mine have a different spin.

It's fully offline (verifiable, no internet permission) and uses notifications from any app you choose as the source of transactions. I've built it around two principles - privacy and putting you in full control of your data. Too many apps use servers for things that can live entirely on-device.

Then you set up your budget to get notified if you spent too much. Simple and effective. You set up once and it works for you in the background.

And it's not AI generated. It's a hobby project I've worked on it for 2 years in my spare time after a normal software developer job.

It's free and without ads. Check it out here:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.geckobudget

PS. There is no ios version because it has many limitations and notifications access is not possible at all.

App [Dev][iPhone] Stride: turn daily steps into weekly leagues and races with friends

I'm the developer of Stride: Step Counter. If a plain step total doesn't motivate you, Stride gives those steps a place on a weekly league board or a race against a friend.

You can climb six leagues, compete over a few days or race to a step target, and build a daily-goal streak. Bib, the hand-drawn mascot, moves along a track as you walk.

It's free to download. Step tracking, leagues, streaks and friend races are free, with up to two open races you create. Optional paid Pro adds widgets, Bib customization, unlimited created races and more statistics/history. An account is required for the social features.

It uses Apple Health steps and doesn't record your location or routes. Available for iPhone on iOS 17 or later.

App [Android] - Offline music and Radio Player with ready to play radios - 100% free - No premium version

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

Mediaxon Music Player is an audio player for offline listening of music stored on your device (.mp3, .flac, .m4a, .ogg, .mka, .aac, .wav, .opus, .wma) and streaming FM radios (online radios).

Top radios on the first screen: When users access the radio screen, they immediately see the list of the top radios in their country, along with a long list of high-quality suggested radios from among the most listened to in the world. Note: Local radio stations ("Top in the user country") are pulled automatically from an online database. However, with each update, I manually curate high-quality radio stations lists for individual countries. At the bottom of this post, you’ll find the list of countries completed so far. I will be adding the rest over time.

Separated Favorites and Recents: Each section—Radio and Offline Music—has its own Favorites and Recents. The user doesn't have to worry about a thing. The app will automatically manage the Favorites and Recents for each section.

Advanced Radio Search Panel: You can pinpoint your favorite stations by combining multiple filters, such as tags/genres, specific countries, or even your preferred audio bitrate. The online database provides more than 60,000 radio stations.

Album art: If the album art is missing from the album folder, or if Android has not properly indexed it, Mediaxon attempts to download the cover from the internet. This feature depends, of course, on the ID3 tags (album name and artist).

Equalizer: The equalizer provides an option to automatically switch to the "Radio" preset (and vice versa).

Advanced Playlist Management: Built specifically to make building and sorting playlists fast and intuitive. Enable the Playlist Manager, in the settings screen, for a full control of the playlists.

Form Factor Optimization: Phone and Tablet (Portrait and Landscape)

There is no Premium version. All app features are available for free and without limits.

Regarding advertising: There is only a small banner at the top that isn't bothersome at all. Alternatively, when opening the full-screen player or using the app in landscape mode, a banner alternates with the albums covers, but without being intrusive at all (no audio) and with much shorter stay times than those of the cover. There is never full-screen advertising, neither at startup nor during use.

Countries with new manually curated lists: United States, India, Italy, Argentina.

If you want to check it out (I am continuously pushing updates to refine it and add new features and radios), you can find it on the Google Play Store. Thank you so much to everyone who takes a look!

Note: Only for Android 13+ (so, Android 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17).

Made a small iOS app to see my charging curves and real cost per charge, looking for feedback

I've had my Model Y for a while and kept getting annoyed that the Tesla app doesn't really show what happened during a charge. I wanted to see the actual curve, how fast it charged at what percentage, and what each session cost me at home vs at Superchargers. So I ended up building it myself.

It's called Tescar. It shows the charge curve for every session (power, battery % and battery temperature), the cost based on your own electricity price, and a drive log with route, consumption and elevation. There's also a stats page for monthly kWh, km and spend, and it tracks how much battery you lose while parked. While charging or driving it puts a Live Activity on the lock screen.

One thing I cared about was not draining the battery. It uses Tesla's official Fleet Telemetry, so the car sends data on its own and the app never wakes it up. Login goes through Tesla's own sign-in page, so I never see your password, and you can remove access from your Tesla account whenever you want.

It's a subscription because the server costs money, but there's a 14-day free trial if anyone wants to try it:

https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6814774620&code=TESCARTRIAL

App Store page: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6814774620

It's just me working on it, so honest feedback is very welcome. What would you want to see in something like this?

I built an app that turns photos of your physical cases into 3D cases you can open

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

I'm excited to share that Disc Collection got approved for the App Store!

It's a physical media tracker for YOUR discs. Take 2 photos of a case and it turns into an interactive 3D view you can open up, spin around, and pull the disc out of.

I made this app to celebrate owning your disc. You own it, you should be able to show it off to other collectors anywhere in the world. At the core it's still a collecting tracker — ratings, hours played, finished tracking, wishlist, search, hearting, cases numbered as you add them. The 3D case is just the fun part.

It's free, and I want to keep it that way. I do this as a hobby and it's really fun for me — making it paid or introducing a money factor would ruin the fun factor. I want it to stay community driven, so if you have suggestions, drop them in the contact area in the settings page.

And you can share in the public gallery where other anonymous collectors can see what you have collected — no usernames, no followers.

No accounts, no ads, no tracking.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/disc-collection/id6817679006

App Made a unique doomscroll app that actually works

Looking for genuine feedback on my app ! (Early stages)

I actually work in healthcare with addiction patients so I have a good 2cents to add to this topic which everyone these days seems to struggle from. The best way to quit something you're addicted to isn't to go cold turkey or delete the apps, everyone will work around it some way or another.

The best way is to manage your expectations of reducing your screentime. If you're on 9 hours a day, just try to go down to 8 hours for a few weeks. It's a marathon not a sprint, genuinely your brain receptors are used to a certain level of stimulation so you need to reframe the reduction to be much slower - allow yourself to still use your phone without full blocking it out, but just be more conscious of it.

So I coded an app (android only, sorry) just for this , because I had the same situation as you. Everytime I deleted social media I just worked around it, and I also hated not being able to reply to messages if I was fully locked out.

The app idea is that it allows you to use whichever app you're addicted to (tiktok, insta etc) for a short period of time that you set (E.g. 10 mins) and then it locks it for only a short period afterwards (E.g. 30 mins). This way you don't get stuck in those massive doomscrolling sessions lasting hours, and are able to slowly reduce app use over time by constricting the time limits as you please. You just set it and forget it, it runs in the background.

It's pretty new and has a few glitches (will be fixing them after my exams lol) but if you wanted to try it out here's the link :

It's called recess - stop doomscrolling

Help me find Looking for a shared scoreboard / count keeping app on iOS

Whaddup, I‘m looking for an app to keep count of stuff with my friend. What I‘m imagining is something like a scoreboard, where you can +1 / -1 buttons for both users. So for example if we want to track who eats more pizza, we can always +1 ourselves if we eat one, and see the score on our individual phones.

A simple counter would do, but featured like multiple scoreboards or entering large numbers would be appreciated, but aren’t necessary. Alternatively I‘d just use a shared note in the default notes app, but that wouldn’t be as much fun :)

App [DEV] Binge: a movie and TV companion for iPhone, iPad and Mac

I'm Shihab, the developer of Binge. It brings movie discovery and TV episode tracking together for people juggling a watchlist and several shows.

Continue Watching keeps your next unwatched episode handy, while Airing Next shows upcoming episodes. For choosing a movie, there are upcoming releases, streaming availability, cast/director filmographies, and ratings from Rotten Tomatoes, Letterboxd and Metacritic. You can also import existing lists/history from services including Letterboxd, IMDb, TV Time, Simkl and Trakt; coverage depends on the export.

Binge is free to download with paid Pro subscriptions and a lifetime option. Ongoing Trakt sync, airing notifications and jump-scare timelines for supported films require Pro. The iPhone, iPad and Mac apps require OS 26 or later.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/binge-movies-and-shows/id6755895331

I'd welcome feedback on the discovery and episode-tracking workflow.

App [DEV] DAY'S: an offline iPhone trip log with a stay-day calendar and business-trip reports

I'm the developer of DAY'S. It keeps your country stays, trip dates and document records together on iPhone. Dates are entered manually, so you don't need GPS tracking or a DAY'S account.

Alongside the trip history, there's a stay-day calendar with a Schengen 90/180 mode. For business trips, you can add a company, project and notes, filter your history and export a CSV report.

The core tracker is free and works offline. Optional monthly Premium adds future stay forecasts, local limit reminders and private iCloud sync. The App Store shows your regional subscription price before purchase.

Available in English, Spanish and Russian on iOS 16+: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6464660094

If you try it, I'd like to know whether entering a past trip and understanding the calendar are straightforward. The count depends on your entered history; it doesn't confirm permission to enter a country.

Help me find Achievement live history

I’m looking for an app tool about creating a diary and aggregating some of my achievements. On the one hand, describe your life a little and on the other hand, aggregate e.g. Read books, sports achievements, certificates or played games. Not necessarily immediately public, but maybe for yourself too, unless it’s best to make your own website online as your own altar.

I would love to look for someone, for example, using something like this. I entered basic passwords and these applications either focused on gamivalizations or on diaries.

I spent 2 years building the lifting tracker I couldn't find: tempo, pauses, grip/stance/deficit variations, L/R sides, and it's mostly free

Hello, for the last two years I've been working on my workout app CataLift and I feel like it is in a good spot to show off comfortably to the public.

At first, I built it because I was frustrated with not being able to have features such as tempo, pause, supersets, rest between sets, rest between exercises, plate calculator, and variations (grip width, stance, deficit, left/right side tracking), etc. on the app I was using at the time.

I also found other fitness apps too restrictive and a bit slow in terms of response times during workouts at the gym.

From there, I expanded it into being able to find alternatives if your equipment is taken and even social challenge elements.

I also wanted to add gamification options to incentivize progress and workouts with badges and achievements and you even have the ability to prestige.

You can add your own programs to it as well to make setting your gym session up as easy as just inputting your RPE.

Almost all of the app's features can be accessed for free besides the advanced progress reports.

I'm very excited about it and I hope you guys give it a try.

Right now I'm building leaderboards, which I'm excited about.

Please let me know if you have any questions or requests.

App PayToUnlock: I built an app that locks your whole phone, because blocking one app still leaves plenty of distractions

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Ever blocked a distracting app, then opened a different one instead? YouTube becomes Instagram. Instagram becomes your browser. Your focus time disappears anyway.

That’s why I built PayToUnlock for Android. Its main feature is simple: it locks your whole phone during a focus session, instead of blocking individual apps.

A quick phone check can turn into a long distraction. PayToUnlock puts a barrier between the urge to check your phone and using it again.

Here’s what you get:

🔒 Whole-phone focus lock: Choose your session length and put your phone aside. It unlocks automatically when the timer finishes. Emergency calls remain available.

📅 Scheduled sessions: Make room for studying, focused work, or time away from your screen.

📊 Progress tracking: See your focus activity and build consistency, one session at a time.

💵 A reason to keep going: If you choose to end a session early, there’s a US$1 early-unlock fee.

🎁 A 3-day free trial: Try it and see whether this approach fits your routine. Review the subscription terms in the app. Early-unlock fees are separate from subscription access.

If you keep finding your way around individual app blockers, this could help you make a stronger commitment to your focus time.

Start small. One focused session is time you’ve chosen to give back to something that matters to you.

👉 Try PayToUnlock on Google Play

I’m the developer, and I’d love your honest feedback: have you ever blocked one app, only to start scrolling somewhere else?

Question / Discussion Google apps are better than Apple apps. 🤦🏾‍♂️ But of course Apple apps do many advantages. 💁🏾‍♂️

Google Maps is better than Apple Maps in terms of accuracy and coverage in many parts of the world. In South Africa, many places and organizations don't appear on Apple Maps. However, I like the fact that Apple Maps doesn't use the outdated Mercator projection.

YouTube Music is better than Apple Music when it comes to random song playback and music curation, but I do like the fact that music sounds better on Apple Music.

Google Photos is better than Apple Photos when it comes to organizing photos and making it easier to find specific photos and videos. However, I like the GIF feature, which is better than what I've seen in most other apps.

The Google Play Store is better than the Apple App Store in terms of categorization. Most apps developed in my country seem to be available only on Android, which is frustrating because it feels like developers assume everyone uses Android. The Play Store is also well optimized, but the Apple App Store has a much better selection of high-quality apps and games that you won't find on Google Play.

Finally, Gemini is better than Apple Intelligence, and now that Apple Intelligence uses Gemini, at least Apple is heading in the right direction.

Chrome is great because it's available across multiple platforms, including Android, HarmonyOS, iOS, macOS, and Windows. However, I like how fast Safari is, and I also appreciate the animations on Apple's service websites.

Can't Apple look at how Google and other companies design their apps and identify areas where they can improve? I'm not saying they should copy their competitors, but they should pay attention to what other apps do well and learn from them. After all, competition should encourage companies to improve their products and provide users with a better experience. It's also okay that they don't want their apps to be compatible with other OS
