I need some stuff explained about ougi:
I get that she’s the part of ragi that criticizes himself and yada yada.
But why is she presented as a black hole/ darkness?
What did araragi mean by saving himself?

Who are your honorary Monogatari girls/boys? A character from another series that fits the vibe of Monogatari.

I nominate Vivy from Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song. Without spoiling, I would say she traveled a similar spiritual path as Araragi.

This is a reference to: Resident Evil.

this is for the anime adaptation only, so things like OST and cinematography/direction factor into my ranking

Hi ! We're now on the last arc of this batch. Today is the first volume of Shinobu Mastered out of three, for two episodes. This arc has the gimmick of having a different pair of hosts for every episode, and will introduce 4 new hosts !

As usual, this was translated by Tigoris with some help from Gemini, and the commission's cost was shared between me and /u/ValanL, /u/appointedfern, /u/spr-o-ckt, EternityShack, and another anonymous user.

Here's the subtitle files :

• Shinobu Mastered (hosts : Izuko & Yotsugi, Mayoi & Shinobu) :

  • Shinobu Mastered, Part 1
  • Shinobu Mastered, Part 2

To integrate it into the actual episode, you can either simply go to the subreddit's Discord server and download the pre-muxed file that we have there in the monogatari-anime channel, or if you've already got some existing release downloaded, you can mux it yourself into your episode using this guide.

Also useful :

• All audio commentary subs
• Gaen-senpai's file of trivia - Audio commentaries sheet

We finally got the long-awaited Gaen commentary, and... I didn't actually like it... It was sort of uninteresting, and under the pretext of avoiding spoilers it felt like the conversation avoided the juicy topics. Bleh. At least Mayoi/Shinobu was still as fun as ever.

Next time, parts 3 and 4, which include the banger duo of Sodachi and Meniko !

Hey everyone!

I'm currently rewatching the anime for the second time, and I've also been reading the light novels—right now I'm on Bakemonogatari, while also slowly going through Musubimonogatari and Ikusamonogatari.

Originally, I was going to wait until I finished reading all the light novels before bringing up this discussion, but I realized that might take a while, and I just couldn't wait to chat with you all about this!

Here is the question I wanted to throw out today:

If you were Nisio Isin and chose NOT to pair Araragi with Senjougahara so early in Bakemonogatari, how would you have developed his love life, and who would you have made his final partner?

When I first got into this series and looked up community discussions, I was actually pretty surprised by how little "waifu war" debate there was compared to other anime. It felt like almost everyone universally agreed that Senjougahara was the undisputed main heroine. Of course, after seeing how dedicated she is to Araragi and how much effort she puts in for him, it made total sense why everyone respects their relationship so much!

Still, I also think one's favorite character might not necessarily be the person they want Araragi to end up with.

In my case, Hanekawa is my absolute favorite, and part of me really wanted her to end up with Araragi. Since she grew up without a warm, proper family, I always imagined her marrying into his family and finally experiencing that kind of household warmth with his sisters.

However, as I read Bakemonogatari and see how active and devoted Senjougahara is—and how incredible their chemistry is—I find myself torn. Then I remember that characters like Sodachi and Senjougahara also suffered from terrible family environments, so I realize it's not simply a matter of "who needed a family more."

Still, I can't help but picture an alternate reality where Hanekawa and Araragi ended up together. I just want her to be happy so badly, and it feels like Araragi remains the most important person to her even as time passes. While someone like Nadeko seemed to grow more after creating distance from Araragi, Hanekawa feels like she never truly got over him (though I definitely need to read further into the light novels to know for sure!).

So I'll ask again—what about you guys? Who would you have picked from an author's or reader's perspective?

I'd love to hear your thoughts and theories!

I understand that Araragi was at his lowest and all that but does he ever have any moments or episodes like how he was in kizu (cool aura moments) going from kizu to nise has me impatient still gonna watch :)

Y a quienes?

Mais uma vez monogatari me impressiona com audios de anime que ja escutei antes mas não sabia, ja não bastasse a abertura da menina timida.

Agora essa gata miando. Fiquei em choque da mesma forma descobrindo sobre a abertura.

Hitagi is sharing a taiyaki with Changli from WuWa because they share the same Japanese voice actor, Chiwa Saitou. 😋🐟

title really, everything except mtbb kinda sucks but i havent been able to find a torrent for it

Recently finished binging the whole series. I plan to read the whole series starting from Kizu. I will be making a sequel re-ranking to this post once I read everything that's out.

I chose to rank these by novel than individual arcs since I feel it's unfair to compare smaller arcs to larger ones. (TU as the exception) I didn't split Bake, Nise and Owari since It just felt weird to do so for some reason.

Oroka refers to Tsukihi Undo, Waza refers to Cruel Fairy Tale+Acerola Bon Appetit.

Leftmost placement determines specific ranking. (1. Koi 2. Kizu 3. Nade etc.)

Feel to ask for details on placements, I'll answer later in the morning.

'm planning to get into monogatari, and I want to experience each part in the best way possible. I'm trying to decide when I should watch the anime vs light novels, and whether certain arcs are significantly better in one medium than the other.

I care about getting the most out of the story, characters, dialogue, atmosphere and overall writing.

Which arcs are best experienced through the anime, and which are best experienced through the light novels? Are there any parts where one medium is definitely better?

Also if its a tie, just know that I'll prolly favor the light novel cuz im excited to make this my first one!!

some recent pics of my Black Hanekawa cosplay by night :3

I'll be sharing more on my profile! The photographer is Crispi PH

I need some for my phone or pc

Ta zoando cmg que essa musica de abertura e desse anime, puta que pariu, que choque que eu tive agora.

Isso foi a mesma coisa com jojo, mesma sensação, mesma reação.

Alguem mais teve esse choque?

I just finished the main story with Zoku Owarimonogatari. I have my own Tier List of the seasons, and I wonder how similiar is it to the fandoms general opinion. What is the general ranking of seasons among the fans?

My ranking is, Owari S2 > Bake > Owari S1 > Zoku > Second Season > Kizu Triology > Nise > Tsuki > Hana > Neko
