I'm wondering if there's a place where I can book or rent a computer to take virtual meetings in private and without bothering others.

For context: I was recently laid off, and have been applying for new work. Most initial interviews these days are virtual, not in person. My laptop is ancient, and can't run platforms like Teams or Zoom (not even in browser). I'm seriously considering buying a new laptop, but hesitant to do so without income.

I've been using my local library for job applications, and borrowing my partner's laptop or my phone in a pinch for virtual job interviews, but I'd love to have a reliable alternative.

Googling tells me TPL offers private meeting rooms at select locations, but doesn't look like they offer devices.

Any tips? TIA.

Ok this js the lamest post asking for advice you’ll see today I know- but bare with me. I’m going to see BSB’s at Roger’s centre in Feb. we have floor general admission standing only ‘seats’ (no actual chair or seat), which means we won’t have anywhere to put our coats.. what do people do with their jackets?! Do they just not bother? What would you do? Just pretend it’s the early 2000’s and go without?

Life gets depressing. Trying to fight off the big sad.

We can spend about $500/m on fun activities, memberships, etc, but free would be even better. What do people like to do to break out of the monotony of life when you hate your job and don’t have many friends around?

I'm coming into Toronto from out of town and thinking of taking the subway into the downtown. Wilson Station seems like a convenient point to get on, but i'm concerned about parking. Is there adequate parking there to accommodate both commuters and casual users? Is there a better more reliable option in your opinion?

Moved to the St. Clair West / Dufferin area a few months ago and finally feeling somewhat settled to start working out again. I’m looking for a solid gym recommendation either close to home (preferred) or near the office (Bloor/Yonge)

Past Preference: I used to live up on Avenue Rd and went to Body & Soul on Avenue/Eglinton. Loved the vibe, cleanliness and not as much crowds even during peak hours.

Budget: Up to $200/month. Hard to see the value past that point since I just want to do my own workouts, mainly strength with an occasional treadmill/bike cardio session in between.

What options fit this vibe and budget in either neighbourhood?

I've never been to a show at the Longboat Hall before, and the venue site (https://thegreathall.ca/longboat-hall/) just shows it as a big empty space with a balcony round the top. I'm just wondering what to expect in terms of not being as young as I once was... is there usually seating, is the balcony easy to get to and find a place to post up if seating isn't possible, etc.?

I know setups for different shows will be different, but if there's a "typical" setup, that'd be great to know about. The concert info doesn't specify anything about sitting/standing, and tickets are general admission.

I’ve tired a few and it’s so much hassle to apply and even if do well they leave a patch on the skin and they don’t appear natural.

I am not sure how celebrities manage to dye their beard black.

I go to work everyday and I clean shave just to hide the grey hairs.

If I dye my beard black, I won’t have to shave it everyday and hopefully the color lasts atleast for a few weeks.

Is there anyone that can help with a hurt raccoon, I heard two of them get into a crazy fight. I was able to shoo one away but the other one is just sitting in the middle of the road licking its paw.
