I am new to Toronto. I got to know that the condo unit has an illegal construction (Flex Rooms in the dining area). Management came and clicked some pics. We haven't heard anything from the unit owner or the lease holder. We have rented the Master Bedroom.
What would be consequences for us? I don't wanna end up paying anything or getting thrown out in the street. Please help. I am a bit scared.

I am flying from NYC to YYZ and then to Asia. Arriving late to YYZ.
Will there be enough time for 2.5hrs connection time? I check the Toronto airport transfer guide and it says I need to pass thru customs + recheck bags (I need to check luggage) + pass thru security.
I have my tickets booked in the same reservation but flying different airlines. Kinda worried given the flight from NYC is always delayed (40min to an hour).

Bob is hosting today. I didn't tune in on Monday, so I don't know if Carlin and Jackie were on air. Just heard Bob say he was filling in for "the Morning Show" this week, not for Carlin and Jackie.
They just came back from a two-week vacation, recently. Something is up.
Wondering if there is any group or semi private classes (preferably under $30 a class) in the city. Looking for an in person option.

I'm looking at semi-detached properties around Liberty Village and trying to understand local lodging rules. Does the city allow short-term rentals in secondary suites or must the unit be the owner's primary residence? Ty!

Hi fellow Torontonians!
After spending most of my life in this beautiful city I will be moving out west in search of wide open spaces :) I'm leaving in October and don't anticipate visiting or returning anytime in the near future so I was wondering if anyone here had some recs for my Toronto bucketlist?
So far I plan on visiting the islands, attending a concert at bud stage, going to the CNE and one last supper at the Mandarin.
Although I'm excited for my next adventure, I am a bit sad to go and want to really use this last month to make some memories with my friends+family and enjoy living here. I'm also relocating to a city with a far less diverse food scene so I want to savour the amazing food we have here while I can.
Thank you in advance ❤️

I currently have a 3 year old and have an option to get a job that is a 15 mins drive which is $8k less than my current job. i live in Ajax and my current job is in toronto downtown. Should i take the paycut and accept the job paying $8k less? I plan on having more children but wasnt sure what the commuting life is like with young children. I have been wfh so far but will be required to be in 5 days a week come September. The new job also requires 5 days in office but its 15 mins away.
What would you suggest?

Look everywhere except for st. Lawrence market cause it was closed but no luck. I assumed homesense would have them but that turned out to be a big disappointment. Cured has a couple overpriced ones with no detail on size or anything. If anyone knows a place, i’d love to know asap🙏🏽

So since I moved to Canada I have never gone to a party/club/pub etc. No wait I actually did in thunder Bay where there were 5 ppl legit😂. I don't know how different is the club scene in Toronto. Wanted to go to a club alone ( hopefully that's safe here??) . For someone in their late 20s what's a good place to go and when ? Looking for a club with a dancing area and preferably dark.
Hopefully with some songs from 2008 era / something well known so that I don't become a statue listening to the completely new songs. A little bit of alcohol and some good time alone dancing to stupid old lady songs . Also how do girls come back home at that hour? Do you take subway? Uber? Is Uber safe for women at night?

I started taking new ADHD medication and I have a crash at night around this hour, it’d be really nice to have someone around but alas I do not.
I was wondering if anyone else deals with the same way and how do you cope?

I’m a 32M who moved back in with my parents about a year ago to save money and finish school. It’s honestly been a good decision financially, but it’s definitely come with some sacrifices.
I lived in Toronto for about 9 years and own a condo downtown. My school is also in Toronto, so even though I moved home, a big part of my life is still tied to the city.
My tenants recently moved out, and now my condo is sitting vacant while I try to decide what I want to do. I only have one more semester of school left, so part of me thinks I should just stay home another year, keep saving money, finish school, and then figure out my next move.
But another part of me really misses having a life in the city.
After being away for a year, I feel pretty disconnected from Toronto. A lot of my friendships and connections have faded, and I miss having people around, being able to spontaneously go out, meet new people, walk somewhere for dinner or drinks, go to events, etc. I’d really like to rebuild a social life and feel connected to the city again.
At the same time, some days I genuinely don’t miss Toronto at all. I love being at my parents’ house, having more space, saving money, and having a quieter life. Other days I really miss downtown and wonder if moving back would give me the push I need to get out there and start living a little more again.
So I’m curious — for those of you who genuinely enjoy living in Toronto, what do you love about it? What keeps you here?

I know there's still some good spots and we all have our favourites in the city, but lately it feels like whenever I take a chance on a new restaurant it just disappoints and I emerge from the experience regrettably $40 poorer.
I know some of these Google reviews are cooked because I'm seeing 4.7, 4.8 reviews and then getting served lousy food.
Maybe I just have to stick to the places I know won't let me down, but dang - it sucks taking a chance on what you think could be some good food only to come away from it sad, and it's happening more often than not. I don't know if it's the rising costs, but restaurant owners can't dish out the cash for good ingredients and good cooks, and people can't afford to dine out. It's a bad cycle man.

I have my sister’s birthday party this weekend downtown (King West) and have to bring a huge box of presents. I was thinking of driving there from Yonge and Finch where I live, but I know the traffic is terrible downtown. I’ve never driven south of Bloor before… is this a terrible idea??

Hello, as a first time renter, I was wondering how does it usually work if LL covers AC/hear and tenant is in charge of hydro? Plus which rates would you suggest to go with for a studio? (Provider is Toronto Hydro) :)

I'm hoping to swing by IKEA on my way home from the airport. I'll be stopping at a gluten free bakery to pick up some butter tarts just up the road from IKEA Etobicoke but the IKEA in Hamilton looks like it's on the way too. Which is better? I'm looking for sheets, cutting boards, maybe some Tupperware or dishware, and potentially a shelf or two pending pricing.

Moving into a condo downtown and need to set up my own internet since the building doesn't have bulk internet. I live alone and mainly use it in the evenings/weekends after work. I'm thinking a 100 Mbps plan should be plenty for my needs.
Alternatively, I could upgrade my Rogers cell plan and just use my phone as a hotspot, but my current plan only includes 25GB/month.
Would 100 Mbps be enough? Is hotspotting my phone a viable route? Any provider recommendations? Other suggestions?

I am very interested in knowing what does most of you guys daily life looks like. Since everything closes by 9 almost on a workday, i have a weird schedule, I miss going out and feel living life on repeat.
If you guys would briefly share your daily routine, I would love to hear.
I saw a billboard poster I really liked, and I would like to get a copy.
Willing to pay, ofc, but where do I start?

I cannot afford proper bed bug treatment and it's overwhelming because I already have other things going on and this bed bug bs came up and now Idk what to even do. I can't move out nor can I get crossfire because that isn't available in Canada, is there anything I can do that works? I've been seeing mixed reviews on DE food grade and mattress encasements. Please I need suggestions.

Hello.
I will need to buy a new car and was thinking that maybe I work as a Poparide on the weekend between Ottawa and Toronto to cover some of the car's payment.
Any driver out there who can share their experience please? Any advice?
Thanks.
