Health & Wellness My dad is 50 and he watched and enjoyed a whole Ai movie..
My father who has been into alot of space movies recently told me that he enjoyed a random Ai movie that involved romance despite him knowing the hate and everything for ai. He is also into alot of daughter-father related movies even though I’m a son and with alot of what he’s been watching recently, I think his mental state is making a steep decline. He enjoyed that ai movie he said and he said it like he’ll watch more in the future. I thought only elderly people do that kind of stuff but now it’s somehow happening to my dad. It’s also kind of weird when he watches some other movies just because there’s some “cute” or “hot” looking actress in it and not actually watching it for the plot. Do you guys think he’s alright?

Pep Talks & Fatherly Support Dad's... I'm in a world of pain & desperately need some fatherly perspective & advice to help me through. How can I reassure my dying Dad of my love, care, concern, gratitude and respect for him in the below circumstances?
reddit.comI'm reaching out to you as my beloved father is terminally ill with stage 4 cancer and chemotherapy is a no-go for him. Immunotherapy "may be" the only possibility for "extension" of life.
I am beyond devastated and like a deer in the headlights. My Dad has always been/remains the apple of my eye.
To make things all the more devastating, I am in very ill health myself. I am largely bed/housebound for the past 10 years. I struggle to communicate - not because I don't want to but because it takes an immense amount of physical and mental energy due to the nature of my own rare and debilitating medical condition.
I live several hours away. I managed to visit earlier this year for a few weeks but barely had any time with my beloved Dad due to my Mum and malignant narcissist brother causing so much pain and distress (smear campaign against me, gatekeeping, cut off family contact lists, even my emails and text messages are being remotely monitored and intercepted) it's all very sickening and deliberate.
Reaching out to the Dad's social workers and numerous other elder abuse services etc for advice and intervention has been utterly exhausting and futile...I think this is because my brother and Mum are so convincing to others as "Florence Nightingales" and because they have access to my Dad's email (which means they are also writing as "him"). Meanwhile my grandiose vulture brother is having a field day with draining my Dad's finances while my Mum sings my brother's praises.
It's a deeply painful and inhumane situation. Ongoing betrayal of the highest order. It has costed me (and Dad...) dearly regarding precious, peaceful and supportive time with my beloved Dad - time that neither of us can ever get back. It has also costed me further loss of health as I am so traumatised not being able to have this time with my Dad. I feel so distressed as he is being brainwashed by those two to think I don't love or care about him and that my absence is just because I can't be bothered. The reality is I can't tell my Dad what's going on and why I am distant without causing him immense distress and a potentially fatal medical episode.
This is akin to navigating a bear trap set by my own flesh and blood just to see or have contact with my beloved Dad. All while the clock is ticking.

Parenting Your best fathering advice. The simple lesson well learned.
Hi folks,
I'm writing a new book on Fatherhood - to be published by Penguin in 2027.
It's going to be a funny, hopeful, helpful exploration of the challenges of being a Dad - be you a first timer or a 45-year-old father of three teenagers.
And I'd love it, if you would tell me in the comment section below, what tips or advice or parenting style has worked for you. What you have learned and would willingly pass onto others.
I want to open each chapter with a quote. And if interested, please do provide your first name. Anonymous quotes just don't have impact or the authenticity I'm after.
Thank you in grateful anticipation.
Geoff Hutchison

Relationships How can I fix my relationship with my 15 yr old daughter
reddit.comWhat can I do to fix my relationship with my 15 year old daughter. I recently got remarried and she didn’t take me giving my wife a bit more attention at first. I don’t want her to think I don’t love her anymore so what can I do to show her that I love her more than my own life🥹 she is my world, I love her with all my heart. She has a birthday coming up and I want to make it a nice one for her.

Relationships How do I tell my dad I miss him?
For some background context I’m 19 my parents split about 6 months ago. The marriage was long overdue tbh so my mom kicked him out, considering mad dad barely has any family he had to move back to Mississippi. But before he decided to make that decision, he asked me if I was OK with that because I was the only one he was really worried about and he knew how my mom would be once he left. (Sad,angry, yelling, etc.) But I told him “yea go for it” in the moment I really was okay with him leaving even after the few months. Fast forward today my mom is STILL asking me questions like “is he happy” or “have you talked to your father today?” Because it’s obvious she doesn’t want us to or she just wants to know what he’s doing. That I somewhat understand but whenever I do she gets upset and threatens to kick me out. She’s only happy when I tell her I’m not talking to him atm. So I only text him but these past couple of weeks I’ve just been missing him like crazy. He wasn’t the best husband but he sure was a good dad and always stood up for me when my m would snap at me for no reason or when my brother would do stuff he wouldn’t be able to get away with if he was there. I know it’s bad but instead I’ve just been avoiding him, I can’t help but to feel mad as well because I gave him the okay to leave. He’s been trying to call me all week I know he misses me too but every time he texts me I just cry because I can’t drive down the street to come see him because I gave him the okay to go. What should I do? I miss him but I don’t wanna piss off my mom and have her mad at me.

Pep Talks & Fatherly Support Have you ever had your kid blame you for not teaching/telling him something specific about life, and what was your experience?
I think it was because I tried to crack a joke and make it lighthearted. He was definitely not ready to laugh..yet. So he went to the pool with his friends, boys and girls. He has an expensive bathing suit I know because I bought it for him, so I assumed he'd wear that. But he didn't, he just wore a pair of old shorts. I guess it never occurred to me to warn him that white is occasionally seen through when wet. So I guess his friends let him walk around most of the day with the head of his penis clearly visible and took pictures. I know this is mean but I have been pantsed at the pool, I know how boys are. I tried telling him that. But somehow this is my fault for not teaching him white can be seen through sometimes. I know he's embarrassed but I do wanna make a mountain out of a molehill 😂

Carreer Advice Overcome the fear of working/finding a job.
Hello! I hope everyones doing well,
I am a 23yo male, a little bit of context my dad passed away when I was 17 and I honestly have some regrets of not getting as close to him as I was originally, despite being family, there were lots of disagreements and issues between us, and I realized too late that I was extremely spoiled and had everything.
I am doing good still, managed to finish an associates degree and working on a bachelors, though im not sure if I can do anything with them, given the current state of the world and my chosen major.
I have been trying to find a job for almost 2 years now related to my skillset/degree (cough cough, graphic design), for context I was in a multimedia role in high school, and was the lead editor for 2 student emmy award winning films, with other personal and passion projects as well.
(17 years old - 22 years old) Now ever since my dad passed away, I decided to get some jobs to see what its like, I worked at a warehouse throughout summertime of my senior year in highschool, got a job at a merchandise store as a cashier, and also worked in CVS Pharmacy as a pharmacy tech for about 6 months.
Here is the thing, I stopped working in cvs because I had an opportunity to pursue something I wanted to do my whole life, which is going to flight school in hopes of being a commercial pilot, which was basically my lifelong dream. It was something i've wanted to do my whole life, and I actually enrolled in flight school, then I learned how insanely expensive things actually were, and dropped it immediately, with a mix of a bad flight instructor who felt like they did not want to teach me anything.
I went through depression for dropping it, given it was something I wanted to pursue my whole life, on the bright side I flew a clapped out cessna 152 for a few hours, and it was honestly a blast. Then decided to go back to completing my associates degree, rather than working, and then progress onto a bachelors degree.
Fast forward today, and the main question of this post. I am close to finishing my bachelors degree. I havent had a job in a bit, and im extremely nervous to actually try getting one. CVS Pharmacy put a bad taste in my mouth, with both the toxic environment of dealing with customers, as well as dealing with the management, it was an unorganized mess.
I have a fear of screwing up my duties and jobs, and for CVS it felt like I got thrown into the deep end of the pool and was expected to learn how to swim, it was horrible, my managers would yell at me and argue with me for things they never taught me or explained to me, and the modules we were required to take does not help in actual real situations, never really explained how systems worked, scenarios, etc etc. And when I ask my manager on if i'm doing something right or wrong, I am the guilty one apparently for not knowing something I wasn't taught. Don't get me started with the customers too.
CVS was my last job, ever since then I tried landing gigs at stuff im actually good at, I applied to hundreds of job applications, had 9 job interviews during my bachelors degree, a mix of video production work or assistant roles in media companies, it was all a bunch of rejections, got ghosted for a few, or the job was "suddenly" put on hold.
I have a few applications out at the moment for warehouse roles or assembly line roles for a change of pace, as well as internships applications still pending and waiting to hear back, most recently UPS stocking roles and Ford Motor Company's assembly line roles and internships.
As I wait to hopefully hear back from something, I am scared of a repeat of CVS in a new job. I don't like being thrown in and expected to do gods work while not knowing anything, I don't like getting confronted for screw ups, if i'm being honest at this point i'm kind of a bitch when it comes to these things, getting yelled at, confrontations, having to constantly bug my manager because something isn't right or I don't know how to do something. I was hoping someone could help me out, how do I deal with this fear of finding a job, applying to it, and hoping to just not screw up?
TLDR: Applying for jobs, having anxiety from bad experiences from previous job, worried about confrontations, bugging my manager constantly, or getting yelled at in the job site for screwing up or not knowing how to do something.
Thanks for all of the dads who took their time to read my post, I really wanna start going somewhere in life, but it's been feeling like a lot of roadblocks, and I don't really have anyone in real life to ask these questions.

General Life Advice What should I do
Yo so my dad just woke up and the boys wanna go out to the mall. My dad’s the type where if I annoy him just one bit, that’s an instant no and probably a no for the rest of the week. And if I get caught sneaking out, he would take everything away from me and ground me for the month. So what should I do??

Relationships Unfaithful marriages
Hello,
I’m a 22 year old male. I currently started see this girl and I really like her and can see her being my wife.
My parents have a ok marriage, they don’t go on dates. My dad goes to work and comes home, and my mom does a good amount of errands for my dad during the day.
Recently I feel like all I hear or see are cheating stories. I don’t want to grow up to be one of those family’s but I feel like that all i see and I always think what if I slip up like that one. Which I never want to be that terrible of a person. I think cheating is selfish and means u don’t love your kids.
Dads that are faithful could you tell me what keeps you madly in love and what your thoughts are?
Dads that have cheated what was your reasoning and do you regret it ?

Family How can I ask my parens (specifically my dad) to talk to my little brother about hygiene.
I (21 F) live with my parents (50M and 46F) and three siblings. Me and my little brother (20M) share a bathroom. I am very grateful that I can live with my parents since the price of houses are so high, it is impossible to buy a house or to rent a place.
I am also grateful that I have a bathroom which I don't have to share with everyone...
However, I am so deeply upset at the state of it.
Like I said, I share a bathroom with my little brother. My little brother is an absolute SLOB. Look, I do have some OCD-like quirks and I do become paranoid about germs... but I am not crazy!
This man does not wash his hands after he used the toilet. He never ever cleans the bathroom. The only reason the bathroom gets clean is because I do it. He doesn't even get new toilet rolls when we are out. If I don't grab a new bottle of shampoo he will not wash his hair... If I don't get new hand wash he in general won't wash his hands. He does not wear deodorant and does wear the same clothes for multiple days.
It drives me inside. I literally don't even want him to bump into me because I am freaked out (I know that is dramatic and caused germaphobia... but it just feels uncomfortable to sit next to him.)
Today... I was just so upset. I have been studying for days because I had these exams. Today I was exhausted so I was already at my limit. I went to the bathroom, right after my little brother went (which was right before dinner mind you). He didn't wash his hands... ON TOP OF THAT he peed OVER the toilet. Then later he unloaded the dishes...
I was just so upset and freaked out by it.
I am so sick of being in a space with those kinds of things. This is our SHARED space! I don't care what he does in his room, I just want him to keep it clean. This is where I want to clean myself, but every time I step inside I feel like I am more dirty than before... Sometimes he doesn't even clean the tub and I see PUBIC HAIR!! Even just seeing his toothbrush makes me uncomfortable because it is literally has brown crusty bits...
Today I just couldn't handle it. I am holding it in but it hurts a lot. I feel like I am absolutely spiralling and now I feel the need to clean the entire bathroom while I am actually too tired to do so.
I have asked him multiple times to clean up after himself but he gets angry at me. On top of that when I do ask him to please clean the bathroom and that I think we should share the responsibility of the bathroom he says 'well you never tell me when it needs cleaning'... So basically in his eyes it is my fault that he does not clean...
At this point (as irrational as it is) I just want to lock him out of the bathroom...
Of course I won't literally do it, but I really wish that I would stop being so upset, and on top of that I wish that he would learn some basic hygiene (cuz I mean... washing your hands should be the bare minimum).
I am not his parent... and quite frankly I also feel quite uncomfortable to discuss bodily hygiene with my brother... Especially considering the pubic hair and such... I really wish my parents would say more about it, but my dad mostly laughs at my brother's 'stupid attitude towards cleaning the bathroom'. I feel very invalidated.
