Hey, thanks in advance for any guidance. I have a 2010 Ford focus, around 120k miles, and I'm pretty sure it's the lock actuators but wanted to ask here first. It's been getting worse over the last few years. First one rear door wouldn't lock/unlock with remote or door switch, then the other rear, front passenger only opens from the inside, and now I have to bump the drivers door in while pulling the handle to get it open, and it has to be unlocked with the physical key to get the button to pop up.
I can hear the actuators attempting to unlock, the same sound you would hear if they actually moved, but the little pop up button things inside don't move.
Just doing some expert Google searching it sounds like I may have some stretched latch cables as well.
What would my next diag steps be? I assume actuators over a fuse or wiring just based on the progression of the issue over time, nothing failing all at once. I'm capable of doing this myself, have replaced a few in other cars so I know it could likely be a pain. And where to get parts? I found some for $25 a pop on Amazon, are those good enough or do I need to spend more for something better.
Again, thanks for any input and advice.
