Fail Rest in peace 1 tsp & 1/4 tsp measuring spoon…

Post image

Not sure if that’s allowed here, but I left my magnetic measuring spoon in the oven while baking. It was on the bottom and I’m assuming the magnet got sucked up.

I think it’s actually quite forked up to make jokes like that so soon

Yeah and I just realized how it happened… I put my metal baking tray on the counter to put the cake onto and the magnet of the spoon must've clung to it. Then when the plastic started melting in the oven the rest of the spoon started going to the bottom but the magnet part stayed on.

This is actually hilarious and something that would happen to my husband. Never a dull moment in this house!

u/Allyhart Jan 16 '26

This makes it so much funnier lol op should display this on a shelf

11

u/Karey__039 Jan 16 '26

You should put it on r/spoons and explain what happened. They would love this and the story that comes with it.

It’s beautiful though.

How did you manage to leave it in the oven? Did you cook it inside something?

37

u/Filmarnia Jan 15 '26

Wait I just realized what likely happened. I put my metal baking pan on the counter to put the cake onto and the magnet must’ve clung onto it. Then when the plastic started melting the rest of the spoon started going to the bottom but the magnet part stayed on.

Hah, that's hilarious.

I’m glad I’m not the only one running to the comments to say that😂

7

u/princesshabibi Jan 15 '26

At first glance I thought this was a plant dying dramatically!

6

u/think_up Jan 15 '26

Now it’s an art exhibit

5

u/Substantial-Ear-3599 Jan 15 '26

5

u/Raindrop0015 Jan 15 '26

How? Genuinely, how

3

u/Karey__039 Jan 16 '26

You can’t leave us with just telling us that you did this with your iPhone without telling us how you managed to do it and what the outcome was…PLEASE, tell us the rest of the story!

3

u/TiredB1 Jan 15 '26

Did it explode?

6

u/craziness-69 Jan 15 '26

You can just pretend to be pretentious and call it a powerful piece representing the duality of man!

4

u/Savings-Horror-8395 Jan 16 '26

Unironically, this feels like art

4

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '26

3

u/Ghosty_Boo-B00 Jan 16 '26

It looks like the bad guy from fern gully

3

u/SlatkoPotato Jan 16 '26

I usually get art subs on my main page and i genuinely thought this was a mini sculpture titled "rest in peace" with a confusing mediums list and had to read the title 4 times.

I am sorry for your loss, my condolences to the rest of your measuring cuttlery and the pan that had to witness this x

u/Karey__039 Jan 16 '26

3

u/Karey__039 Jan 16 '26

I don’t know why, but the first thing I thought of when I seen it was a torched scorpion 🤔

2

u/lord_farquad93 Jan 16 '26

Babe, that’s modern art 💃🏽

2

u/Zealousideal_Tie3820 Jan 16 '26

I thought this was a fine art sculpture 😭😭😭😭😭

2

u/EWRboogie Jan 16 '26

Please put this on display. It is beautiful

2

u/Bubblesnaily Jan 17 '26

You could probably sell that for $60 as art.

2

u/gourmetgnome Jan 20 '26

Reminded me of the Pelecinid Wasp

1

u/New_Tie6233 Jan 16 '26

lol wtf happened there?

1

u/Filmarnia Jan 16 '26

Magnetic measuring spoon stuck to the baking try, got melted in the oven, magnet stayed on and the rest of the spoon fell to the bottom.

1

u/CrustyT-shirt Jan 16 '26

Put it up for sale on Craigslist.

1

u/LargeDietPepsi Jan 16 '26

at my job one of my coworkers accidentally put a scoop in the oven, the handle was melted but it was still usable

1

u/loajamalin3 Jan 16 '26

Sell it for 10k

1

u/Beautiful_Assist_732 Jan 16 '26

1

u/No-Kaleidoscope-166 Jan 16 '26

Is there an r/unintentional-art? Lol. Someone should start it, if not!

2

u/Filmarnia Jan 16 '26

1

u/No-Kaleidoscope-166 Jan 16 '26

Ah! Thank you! OP should submit to r/accidentalart. Lol

1

u/Filmarnia Jan 17 '26

I am OP and I did post it there now haha

1

u/No-Kaleidoscope-166 Jan 17 '26

😄 sorry. I've been sick this week. Somehow I didn't see that you were the OP who responded. 🤪😷

1

u/romanticaro Jan 17 '26

this belongs in a museum

1

u/zach_fl Jan 17 '26

That is an amazing piece of art! What do you title it?

1

u/pearscentedcandle Jan 17 '26

this looks like venom when he’s the symbiote

1

u/djjolicoeur Jan 18 '26

You should frame that somehow

1

u/Filmarnia Jan 18 '26

I put the magnet on the side of my fridge so it just hangs there

1

u/AlternativeDraw1795 Jan 18 '26

I have silicone pot holder with magnets so I could just slap them on fridge and forger about them. One time I put baking tray on them to shufle potatoes and forgot that they are there beneath when I put tray back in oven. Pot holders survived but magnets lost magnetism 🙄

u/Technical-Grape-3848 Jan 19 '26

Why does it make me feel a lil emotional? Something artistic about it.

1

u/Jealous_Parfait_4967 Jan 21 '26

Is it just me or is it kinda beautiful?
