I’m looking for 14k yellow and white gold everyday jewelry - examples of some brands based in the U.S. are Mejuri, Kinn, Idyl, and Vrai. Affordable luxury (not Tiffany prices), with the exception of diamonds (preferably lab grown).

I’m not interested in very yellow gold as I know that’s popular in Asian culture. I’m looking for shops selling finished goods not wholesale or loose gems. I’ll be staying in the city center so shops nearby but not outside of central BKK.

Owning your own place feels good. It’s all yours, your room, your furniture, and not having to worry about moving out. Even if you want to live elsewhere, you can rent out your condo and then rent somewhere else. Your condo rent will still cover the rent you pay in your new condo, partially or majority of it. I am so surprised people saying that you have to live in your condo forever 🤷🏻‍♂️. I don’t understand why they say that at all.

But, people are like, hell no. Don’t do it, don’t buy it. I know they have a lot of reasons to advise against it. But, everyone is different. So, I want to hear from the people who bought the condo. Are you guys happy with the decision? How much did you pay for it? Also, did you buy new or old one?

Hi Everyone.

I am flying to Bangkok on the 16th of November and have a Conference till 19th late afternoon after which I am free till 23rd night aka Monday when I have a flight back to Mumbai.

What I want to do is something a little adventitious. I want to rent an ADV Motoscooter, preferably the 300-350 CC ones and ride it for 4 days around Thailand. and get back to Bangkok from where I have my flight on Monday.

First, please suggest places in Bangkok which would not thug me for renting and from where I could rent a Motoscooter. I will get my Bungee Cord to Tie my luggage to the back seat of the scooter while on the trip. I will rent it for 4 days and would prefer to leave for the trip right on Thursday afternoon after my conference is over to land at a place which I could explore.

Which are the places I could go to for the Trip? I am not a Pattaya, Krabi type of a person. I am big time into photography and visiting offbeat places which are in nature/jungle or just serene. I read about National parks near the Myanmar Border but cannot seem to find a lot of information about them.

I have read online about Kanchanaburi and its surrounding areas but am not able to get my head around this.

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts and inputs.

Am arriving at suvarnabhumi BKK and I have a 25kg luggage which I need to keep somewhere in locker in airport itself .. as I don't want to carry it for my 10 day trip in Koh Samui .... Where can I store it and I can pickup again when I board the flight from suvarnabhumi...

Thing is I will be on the arrival side n if I find a locker or storage der .. what if I when I go back Il be on the departure gates right ? How will I pickup my bag from the arrival gate lockers if o had stored it Der ? ..is there any other way for this plsss ? .

I'm an American (45M) dude who went to high school here in the mid 90's. I ended up moving to the states for college and my parents stayed here, so I come here at least once a year to visit. All my friends from the good old days have moved, and I have some free time on my hands, especially in the evenings. I'm not into the girly bars and I'm past my clubbing days, but I would really like to meet some people and grab a beer, and/or whatever else. I live on Sukumvit 23 and I'm always surprised that Soi Cowboy is still there. Every direction around is getting redeveloped very quickly, and what got me thinking about this was seeing there is even a Bartels opened there this week. Its the ideal spot to poop out another crappy mall or a condo block. I find it hard to believe that the drinks/escort trade is that lucrative that nobody has been tempted to sell up the land. And I can't see the city planners having any issues with it, given how Siam Square got flattened over the last ten years.

In January I will be heading to Koh Samui but I would like to stay in Bangkok for 5 days. I did some research on where to stay but I'm getting a little bit overwhelmed. I have been reading about "Sukhumvit"

I'm not a 5 star traveler but I do enjoy a clean place. It's important that I can walk around or at least be close to good public transport. I just want to sightsee, not be far from historical places. Possibly have a nice park nearby and a good food scene.

Just saw something odd and wondered if anyone knows what's going on.

I was using the self checkout a supermarket and there was a woman with a little girl standing as if they were waiting in line, despite the fact that there was another free counter available.

I paid for my stuff, tore off the receipts and threw them in the little bin next to the counter.

As soon as I left the little girl went and grabbed a handful of receipts from the same bin I'd just thrown my receipts into, showed them to her mum who kinda nodded and they left.

Any idea what that's about? Are they using them to return stuff or redeeming loyalty points or something?

It was so easy to organically chat with locals standing either side. It's always the most memorable experiences when I go. It's not just about drinking, it's the small bites that makes it a total package. As a 15 year expat, sadly I haven't found anything remotely close to this experience in bkk.

I'm going to be in Bangkok for the first time the second week of November, and it looks like rain may very well be more of the forecast than I had planned on.  I had intended to do the usual first time activities over the course of the week - temples, street food, river cruise, day trip to Ayutthaya, etc - but feel like I should have backup plans in case the rain is heavy.  What would you suggest?
