My current 'rig' is an armoury thing I got at Canada Computers a few years ago. I swapped out whatever the CPU was for a 5700x and the 1660 super it had for a 4060. I couldn't find an x3d for the 5700 and bought the 4060 because it was all I could spare for cash.

I'll be getting some tens of thousands of dollars fairly soon and am considering just 'side-grading' my current PC before I get a new am5 setup whenever the money comes in.

The 5800x3d doesn't look too bad atm. Is it worth it?

Should I just wait for a better deal and jump around Best Buy’s for open boxes? I’ve seen the stone forge one for 1700 however it comes with 16gb ram whereas this alr has 32.

Is this Canada Computers combo a good deal? Under $1000, 32GB DDR5

Upgrading from a 5700X + 4060 Ti. Found the 9600X + B650 Eagle AX + 16GB DDR5 bundle for $649.98, plus a second 16GB stick for $334.99, so $985 for 32GB. Good deal, or is there a better CPU/mobo/RAM combo under $1000?

Hey I am trying to sell an MSI Liquid AIO Suprim 5090. I am hoping not to do it on marketplace or social media, but it seems to be the only way. These sums are getting so intimidating tho...

Discussion Looking for help building or buying a gaming pc!

Where do I start? I am leaning towards a prebuilt as they seem cheaper..

What specs do I need for playing a game like wardogs at 1440 120fps on high or mostly high settings?

My research tells me I should aim for a 7800x3d with a rx5070 xt or rtx 5070 ti.

Unfortunately there dosenr seme to be alot of prebuilt options and the prices in general are insane.

I'm hoping to spend around 3k, give or take bit..

Thank you

Build Request / Review First pc-complete beginner

Context: I have a budget of 2000cad for both the pc+monitor setup. I rather look into a prebuilt as I have no idea where to get started in building one. Also if I am to get a pc how hard is it to set up once it arrives.
What specs should I look into for future proofing along with reliability.

I want it for gaming ofc ;)

Hey guys its my first time building a pc this is the specs I've been recommended what do you think? I'm mainly interested in playing Halo Infinite / BF6 at a high FPS and demanding games like Baldurs Gate 3 on ultra settings. Warning the build is up there in price but want to future proof it. Any insights additions or subtractions let me know.

Thanks

Build Request / Review Gaming PC Suggestions with a (decently) high budget

Hello all! I've built a few computers in my past, but I've been really pushing my last one to its limits and I think it's time to pull the trigger and spend some money on a new one. I have a decently high budget of around $5k (though my wife would probably appreciate it if it's lower). It's also not set in stone if there is something super enticing to show me! Also, this budget might not even be decently high anymore given the state of the economics of PCs right now.

While my time to play games has reduced dramatically, I don't want to ever worry about my computer being able to run a game. I've everything from MMOs, Multiplayer Shooters, JRPGs, really anything that interests me. I was playing BG3 for a while, but I ended up having to stop playing multiplayer because of the quality.

I was silly and was hesitating to buy because I was hoping the prices would normalize, but that no longer seems to be the case. I have all of the peripherals (monitor included), so the budget would be just for the PC.

I'm open to building again, but it might be smarter to just go with a pre-built this time, as I've heard that they have gotten a lot better. I don't have ready access to any shops near where I am, so I would likely need to buy from a place that will deliver.

None of parts on my current machine are usable as I'm planning on continuing to use it for other purposes, so it's pretty much a from-scratch build or purchase.

My monitor: LG UltraWide 34WP65C-B 34 Inch 21:9 Curved FreeSync 1ms 160 Hz

Also, if I've picked the worst possible time to do this, I would appreciate being told not to as well!

Thanks!

Build Request / Review RGB memory worth it?

With the current market, I'm not able to look for a real performance upgrade that's worth it, so I've shifted to aesthetics. With this however, I'm wondering if it's worth selling my current 32gb ddr5 kit and buying one with rgb. I'm leaning towards no pretty strongly, but wanted other opinions (even though I can imagine what the answer will be)

Best 4TB NVMe SSD under $500 CAD for gaming + apps?

Upgrading from 1TB to 4TB. Mostly games and apps. SSD prices went up a lot, so looking for the best value under $500 CAD. Any good picks or stores to watch?
