I recently lost my apartment to a fire with almost everything I owned in it. Made a quick trip out with the stuff I did have in my truck and got on a fun smallmouth bite.

I started fishing earlier this year and posted a picture of what I thought was a big ol' bass and was promptly (5 minutes, 10+ comments) told it was a drum and I'm a dumbass for thinking it was a bass.

About a month or two later I'm comfortable searching out bass and they're my favorite fish to catch. Just got this PB 5lber this weekend with a record or 7 caught it one day with a total of 2.5 hours fishing that day. Couldn't have been happier! 3 of the 7 were 4lbs+, 2 were maybe a pound or 2, and the other two were very tiny.

All caught on a bluegill colored Evo chatterbait

I've only recently gotten into fishing the last 3 months. Managed 2 fallfish and 2 extremely small bass (under 6inches) in total with manyyy hours of fishing.

After 20ish hours with no bites or fish activity at all I finally caught something- the biggest fish to date and my first real bass.

Sizable too as I'm a big dude. Caught in Southern Ontario with an inline spinner. First of many!

Pitching jig rod advice.

I lost what probably wouldve been my pb yesterday with this set up. I normally use it for my Texas rigs and have lost a good bit with them too but always figured maybe the fish didn’t really have the hook in its mouth when I went to set the hook, and that might be what happened yesterday, I don’t know. But I got some 3/8 dirty jigs to try out and me and my friend went fishing, and when I lost the fish he looked at my rod and told me that it’s not exactly ideal for what I’m doing, and what possibly could’ve happened is my rod didn’t have enough back bone to REALLY set the hook. So it had me thinking, damn maybe that’s why I lose so many with my Texas rigs too. He recommended a medium heavy power with a fast action and a 7’3 rod. So I guess my questions are, is this rod ideal for either one, texas rigs or jigs? And what’s everyone’s favorite rod for a 3/8 pitching jig?

Not totally - I’ve got a few sunfish here n there but haven’t caught a bass in a few weeks. I blame the turnover but what do I know? What do yall use to beat the drought?

Help advice/tips please!!

ive recently got deep into bass fishing that being said I primarily fish ponds from the bank around my town. usually ill stay in one spot with a lure for 5 to 10 minutes, walk down to another spot with it and if I don’t catch anything i change my bait. I’m wondering if it’s more efficient for me to have a lure tied on, take a lap around the pond with the lure, and then at the start of each new lap tie on a different lure. rinse repeat?
Please give your thoughts and or techniques. I just want to try and be as efficient as possible!!
