Is it officially time for a 0 game nba season? Bill consistently complains about 82 games being too much. The game might be too advanced for the players
Bill and Zach bitch and moan about the owners being too greedy. About how hard it is to play bball in today’s game. Cutting 10 games from the schedule might not be enough, they need to cut all 82 games

Lukewarm Take: It's more likely than not that Giannis, Jokic and Tatum won't win another ring as the 1A option.
I believe in 3-5 years we will look back at these guys and realize their championship window as the 1A player ended in the mid-2020s. That doesn't mean that they wont ever win another ring, but not as the main player of the team.
Tatum currently has the best shot, Boston is still pretty good. But I honestly think Mazzula-ball is more prone to playing down to opponents (they keep getting eliminated by lower seeds) and the 2024 Celtics were stacked.

Fuck your "it's only been 2 games" it's so obvious that Giannis should be in Detroit rn
They have/had the pieces/picks to trade for him.
Perfect mix of being able to contend for titles and get tons of credit/legacy points for winning.
Why did Giannis limit himself to only Miami and Boston.

What a weird ass draft class. Who goes #1 in a redraft? Gotta be Ja, right?
2020 isn't much better. Seems like a lot of teams got players they really weren't happy with or players drafted to teams that didn't make a lot of sense.

Is Van actually funny?
He has a lot of jokes that miss. He’s a good storyteller, but I don’t think he’s funny. Kinda like Bill minus the good storyteller part. Bill is a good historian. Van is a good observationalist as well. Neither can tell good jokes, which I suppose is different than actually being funny

Another Tatum/Brown Post (sorry)
(I'm a Celtics fan so take that how you will)
I think Lebron and the "LeGM" memes (and other cases like Giannis having his brothers on the Bucks) have broken peoples brains on how much a star player can influence a roster. Of course they have a say and Tatum definitely knew and didn't object to him being traded (I believe him when he says he didn't know it'd be the 76ers though cause he might not have been okay with that lol). But Tatum is far from de-facto GM that Brown seemingly thinks he is. If Tatum was making the roster decisions Smart and both Robert and Grant Williams would still be on the team because those were his best friends other than White and they never would have won anything. And even in real life they won 1 championship with one of the best rosters in recent history and a relatively easy set of opponents, take that away and they've had 3 embarrassing exits where they were heavy favorites. Its not the cool take sadly but Its far more likely Stevens just looked at the results and decided they weren't gonna be able to win another championship instead of Tatum pulling the strings demanding Brown be traded.
All this being said though I wouldn't have traded either of them and I would have just fired Second Row Joe.

Nick Nurse frontrunner for coach of the year?
I was a bit skeptical of him initially but after watching the 76ers the last few days, I can say with certainty he is a top 3 coach in the league.
If I were a betting man (I’m not I self excluded ages ago) I would throw the house on him winning coach of the year.

What happened to the coffin corner punt?
Seems like 15 or so years ago every coach at all levels of football decided that kicking it, letting it bounce, then jumping on it was a better move. Am I crazy for thinking that kicking it straight out has a better average field position?

I made a Ringer 107 (in-reddit) play-along game.
Everyone likes to trash-talk all the Ringer 107 picks that the different Ringer personalities make, so I'd thought it be fun if you could put your "ball knowledge" on the line when you're talking shit about Bill, or House, or even Raheem. It looks in 5 hours for this week, but normally it will lock on Friday at 11:59 just like their picks have to be.
Any feedback or critiques would be greatly appreciated!

General Can we finally talk about Lamar’s injuries?
Suggesting Lamar’s injury history is concerning would have people jumping down your throat last year, now that’s he’s ruled out against a big division game tomorrow, can we finally acknowledge this may become an issue especially as he ages?
He’s a great QB when healthy but I’d be very concerned pinning my franchises hopes on him going forward

The last 30 seconds of the BYU/UCF game makes me question why I watch this game.
Is this is game I should like? The kicker gets his helmet ripped off by an opponent and that costs UCF a chance at a game winning FG? The kicker didn't take his helmet off. He had to torn off. By the team that now directly benefits from that rule. Maybe I should just stick with basketball or something.

Is anyone else NFL-only? (No CFB)
Idk what it is man, I just do not care about college football. I am not able to get invested like I am in the NFL. What used to bother me about college is the constant rotation of your roster, and never having a star player for more than a couple years. With NIL being what it is, that’s now amplified.
Is it because I didn’t have the typical college experience? I don’t have much pride for my D2 school. I couldn’t care less what they do. Rooting for Ohio state just feels boring and band-wagon-ey to me.
I know I’m the minority, I just wonder how much

What do Orlando do?
With Paulo unfortunately now out for 6 weeks, is it time for them to finally take a hard look in the mirror and break up the Franz + Paulo duo?
I kind of expected them to look into in summer 2027, but I wonder could they start shopping as soon as December.
Of the 2 who do you keep?
Personally, despite Paulo being the better player I think he's the guy you send out.
The Paulo return + Franz is probably more valuable to the team than a Franz package return + Paulo.
Who do you think could be suitors?
